Summary: The Go-Go's Live in Central Park
Review: I'm sorry, the group just doesn't have major league talent. The best part of the video is the film work. Good editing, good lighting, etc...and so on. Unfortunately, Belinda and group lack any vocal desire, timing, or team work. I liked the video only for the memories. They are almost OK as musicians, but not quite. All in all, you are paying a Big league ticket price, for a group who at best, might have been the cream of the minor leagues!

Review: I'm sure that many of you reading this review, like me, grew up with the GoGos. They are an important part of my being. I honestly wish that this disc had demonstrated to me that the GoGos have grown with me into adulthood, but alas, as a band, they have not. As a "Time Capsule" video, it serves it purpose well. The classics are well played, as are many of their more minor tunes. But my overall impression is that not only the ENERGY (which they were famous for) lacking, but that they have outgrown each other.

There is a fragile tension between the bandmembers (especially Belinda) which gives me the impression that a couple of the ladies really don't want to be there...

The closing number: "I Wanna Be Sedated" by the Ramones, is a feeble attempt at regaining the glory that was once the GoGos. If you are a diehard fan, like me, you will need to purchase this DVD. But be warned... your mortality is at risk.

Review: If you just want to see the Go-go's and/or hear the bass, this is great. But if you actually want to hear Belinda Carlisle's vocals, this DVD [stinks]! The mix is terrible.

Summary: Get this one now
Review: If you want a good, fun, guitar crunching, drum stomping, bass thumping, harmonious vocalizing concert, get this one right away. This is one of the best concerts I own, and I've got a huge collection.

Summary: Redemption at last
Review: In an age full of syncronized dancers and fluffy teen acts, it's refreshing to see these 5 women back on stage rocking to the fullest. Never a dull moment in this show. This band is simply classy fun. The Go-Go's set themselves apart with the high energy they create totally on their own. Proving that women can play just as hard as their male counterparts. This dvd includes impressive new material as well as some old tunes that have stood the test of time. I highly recommend buying this dvd.

Summary: Awesome!
Review: In my library of music videos, I have the Go-Go's 1981 VHS music video "Totally Go-Go's!" It was their first video that accompanied the release of their first album. The Go-Go's played a concert at a Los Angeles high school. The concert was full of energy and featured their hits from their debut album with backstage behind-the-scene footage.

Fast forward 20 years and it's the Go-Go's "Live in Central Park." The girls have aged wonderfully. Their performance has the same energy and excitement as in their first video, but "Live in Central Park" is much, much better. I was totally enthralled by this live concert DVD. The high quality sound and footage makes you feel as if you're right there. The selection of songs is outstanding - a mixture of their past hits and from their latest CD "God Bless the Go-Go's."

I truly regret never having seen the Go-Go's perform live in concert. Hopefully, I will get a chance. If not, watching "Live in Central Park" will be the next best thing. The Go-Go's are awesome! This DVD is awesome!

Summary: They age like a fine wine
Review: In no way do they sound "old" or "coked up". Quite the contrary, they sound like seasoned professionals. Belinda's voice has aged nicely, and the rest of the girls are experts at playing their instruments. Contrast this with the earlier concerts from the 80's, and any fool can see they've improved massively over the years. The behind the scenes and onstage antics are a blast, as well as the live versions of "Our Lips Are Sealed" and "Automatic". It's a must have for current and past Go-Go's fans everywhere.
