Rating: Summary: The Hardest-Working Lady in Show Business Review: After many longing stares, I finally purchased this DVD just recently. I'm a very large Tina fan, and I just had to have it. I've experienced Tina live twice, so I could be choosy about what I did and did not like about this disc. First, the picture quality isn't the best. At times, the picture seems dark and murky, like it didn't record the best in the world. Second, the sound at times fades in and out a bit. You can see Tina's working hard, but not much sound seems to be coming out. It's not her fault, it's the sound technicians. One has to wonder if the extreme heat in Rio that night, and it was HOT, had anything to do with the flaws mentioned here. However, Tina just radiates energy, and the whole thing works due to her obvious enthusiasm with the huge, electric crowd of over 180,000 people, which was a record. It would be nice, though, to know what happened to the rest of the show not seen on this disc. I know for a fact that Tina does more songs than just 13 in a show. A definate high-light, as usual, is when she goes into 'Proud Mary'. What energy!Tina was 48 at the time, and looked 30 or so. Incredible! Finally, this isn't the best quality concert DVD there is, but it has what most lack: Tina Turner. This amazing woman is just the best onstage performer that has ever been, and it's worth having just for her presence alone.
Rating: Summary: Aunty Entity Rules the World! Review: All those other so called "Divas" out there like Jennifer "J-Lo" Lopez, Mariah "Heartbreaker" Carey, Whitney Houston, Janet, "Ms. Jackson if you're nasty" Jackson, and the three ladies from Destiny's Child had better stand to the side when The Acid Queen enters the room. All of the above mentioned artists and this includes Britney and Christina need to purchase this DVD, and let Tina show them how its done. Tina is the very definition of Diva, and only Patti Labelle, or Aretha Franklin could nearly keep up with her. Tina is the sexiest woman alive. She has the legs of an Olympic gymnast, and oozes sensuality just standing there. But when she breathlessly belts out "Private Dancer" with that sexy sax, she is absolutley everything, erotic, sensual, sexual, gorgeous, and boy does she hold that Rio crowd of 180,000 in the palm of her hand. No one on that stage could possibly keep up with her energy level on that HOT night in Rio. Tina sings her behind off, and leaves everything on that stage. Watch for the festival dancers onstage during "Typical Male" No one can do it like Tina, and Ike Turner must cringe evertime he realizes that he is nothing but a second rate guitarist, while Tina is an international superstar. Viva Tina!!!
Rating: Summary: Good, could be great. Review: I saw this "Break every rule" Tour down under, it was great! This video is just not quite there. It's a bit dark at times & dosen't show the wide stage & other musicians up close during solos much. This could be due to editing as it's not the full show. Her excellent band, including Laurie Wisefield on lead guitar, were featured more & to better effect at the concert. This is however a great collection of songs.
Rating: Summary: The Best of Tina Turner Celebrate Review: The only thing you can say about Tina Turner is that she is the BEST!
Rating: Summary: NOT ONE OF HER BETTER PERFORMANCES Review: This 1988 record breaking concert stop of her "BREAK EVERY RULE WORLD TOUR 87-88 was first aired live on HBO back in 1988, and displays her "private dancer" and "break every rule" albums. Plus her now classic version of "addicted to love" and "proud mary" from her Ike and Tina days. The energy is there, the audiences entuhsiasim is there..but Tina's voice simply is not. This could be do to the conditions of the actual concert...it was a HOT night in Rio de janerio, Brazil, and this could be do to Tina's limited vocal range...and screeching, screaming vocals. However she shines brightest on the gospel tinged soulful ballad "help". "Typical male", "better be good to me", whats love got to do with it"..and most others sound like Tina is out of breath and just simply screaming...rather than singing. On the plus side of this performance is again "help", "i cant stand the rain", and "let's stay together. Another complain on this concert is the lighting..its too dark, the camera work does not display this "HUGE" record breaking audience of 180,000 screaming fans...partially because of the lighting...and because of poor camera direction.Tina is the Queen of Rock..but this concert doesnt prove it.

Rating: Summary: Tina Live on a very hot night in Rio... Review: This concert was taped in January 1988 in front of a record breaking crowd of 180 000 fans. The director did not such a good job on this release, but we get to see Tina in full action. She looks exhausted at the end of the show and this proves she is the hardest working lady in show business. The sound on this dvd is not as polished as on other Turner releases and I find that the charm of this release. After all, Tina is not Celine Dion...We like it NICE AND ROUGH ! No five stars because they edited this show and cut out some of her greatest songs including her autobiographical "Nutbush City Limits". A must for every Tina Turner fan !

Rating: Summary: Queen of rock in her finest hour. Review: This concert was the last show of the year long Break Every Rule Tour. The tour played to over 4 million people and played over 230 concerts. Tina rocks in this concert live from Rio at the Macarena Stadium infront of 182,000 people. The setlist includes Addicted To Love, I Cant Stand the Rain, Typical Male, Better Be Good To Me, Private Dancer, We Dont Need Another Hero, What's Love Got To Do With It, Help, Lets Stay Together, Proud Mary, What You Get Is What You See, Break Every Rule, and Paradise Is Here. Highlights include the opening number Addicted To Love, her thunderous version of I Cant Stand the Rain, and great performances of We Dont Need Another Hero and Paradise Is Here. I belive this is Tina at her prime and hight of her rock n roll rage. The only flaws are the semi dark picture and the exclusion of some of the songs from the setlist. Those songs included Nutush City Limits, Girls, and Show Some Respect. The DVD has no extras except for a discography.
