Rating: Summary: Wolfman Jack Rock and Roll Palace Review: A collectors item, this DVD features performances from The Rock 'n' Roll Palace of Del Shannon, Sam Moore, The Angels, and The Jive Five singing some of their hits. The show, hosted by legendary DJ and Midnight Special host Wolfman, is Volume 1 of a series put out by K-Tel. (These DVDs make up for their rerecorded rock and pop CD budget series.) Hop back in time and enjoy rock classics Hold On I'm Coming, Wrap It Up I'll Take It, When Something Is Wrong With My Baby, Soul Man, Hats Off To Larry, Handyman, I Go To Pieces, Runaway, My Boyfriend's Back, 'Til, My True Story, and I'm A Happy Man. Watch and listen and put yourself in a happy mood either revisiting these rock stars or if new to the old, find out where rock n roll started.
Rating: Summary: Wolfman Jack's Rock n Roll Palace Review: In the 80s, The Nashville Network had a Saturday night rock n roll show filmed in Florida hosted by Wolfman Jack featuring artists of the 50s and 60s. This show opens with "Soul Man" Sam Moore of Sam and Dave singing his hits including "Hold On, I'm Coming" in grand fashion. The Angels, two of them instead of the original three, do two of their hits "My Boyfriend's Back" and "'Til" followed by Del Shannon singing three of his hits. The Jive Five with Eugene Pitts perform their smash hit "My True Story" and "I'm A Happy Man". Shannon closes this DVD singing his classic "Runaway". This disc is hard to come by so if you remember the Rock N Roll Palace at L'il Darlings with the Wolfman or like the artists, buy it if you can. The picture is fine although the sound is rechanneled stereo, though still very enjoyable.
