Rating: Summary: Good playing, few funny stories Review: I was under the impression that this show was in the same format as that of the one-man shows that Rick has done throughout the Eastern US in the fall of 2003 ("The Other Side of Rick Wakeman"). Sadly, while in the introduction he says he will be telling many true and funny stories, there are either non-existent or have been cut out of the DVD. 95% of the video is just him playing his best-known pieces. He only tells one full-length story (of being drunk on stage in Seattle in 1976). If you are a fan of Rick's music, you won't be disappointed by the musicianship of this DVD. But if you're looking for a video full of hysterical anecdotes, go see him live instead.

Rating: Summary: Excellent playing and quite a few stories. Review: I'm not sure why one of the reviewers said that there was only 5% of story content? Mine wasn't "Cut out" as the other reviewer said. Anyway there were quite a few stories and they were pretty funny. For me it was the first time I heard Rick telling jokes! I have followed Rick's music since the 70's and it is wonderful to see him grow as a person and an Artist. I also didn't mind the keyboard sounds, as one reviewer was whinnng about K2500 etc. Come on it's not that bad! Another point, if someone wants to know what's on any of Rick's CDs/DVDs just go to his web site at www.rwcc.com. All his stuff is listed there with details of who played what etc. Some of the comments from other reviewer's surprise me! Layered sounds, Yanni, etc So what! this is a one man band, this is not Yanni with a orchestra for crying out loud. Reality check please! Over all I really emjoyed this DVD/CD set. The quality is excellent and the song mix is really good.

Rating: Summary: And You and I Review: I'm sitting here watching the DVD and I'll just let stream of thought take over...Rick Wakeman(age 50) solo in concert... someone pinch me, I think I'm dreaming...we've heard these songs before but never so sharp and clear and played with so much passion...he doesn't miss a note...the short stories between the songs show Rick's sense of humor(watch out for the death scene in Anne Boleyn)...the DVD quality is supurb...Rick's version of "Help" may bring you to tears from it's shere beauty. Throw in extras like a detailed biography, photo gallery and an audio CD of the concert with "Merlin the Magician" added makes this package a must for all Rick Wakeman fans.
Rating: Summary: Hilarious! Review: If Rick hadn't been one of the all time great keyboard players he could have been a great stand up comedian. His "chats" between pieces are hilarious!
Rating: Summary: Great Value, Great Music Review: If you only know Rickman from his recordings with Yes, then you don't know Rickman. This DVD presents an excellent selection of the classically-trained pianist's best work, interspersed with highly entertaining monologues and personal anecdotes. I found his solo work and classical pieces to be slightly more enjoyable than the Yes and Beatles covers, but the concert itself is an all around success and a great value for your money.
Rating: Summary: Simply Beautiful Review: Not often am I prompted to write a review, but this DVD is special. Simply stated, it's beautiful. The anecdotes are funny and insightful, the music is "nothing short of spectacular". If you are a fan of Rick Wakeman, this DVD is a must. If you would like an introduction to Rick Wakeman, this DVD is a must. If you would like a spend 120 minutes being thoroughly entertained, this DVD is a must. A wonderful fusion of music styles flawlessly combined to showcase his keyboard versitility. Simply beautiful.

Rating: Summary: Truly a legend! Review: The only way to describe this dvd/cd set is "perfect". The cd features the music tracks from the dvd concert. The dvd also features some bonus studio tracks. Overall, you get a lot of music. Also, Rick Wakeman tells jokes and stories between the songs on the dvd which are quite humorous. The concert features Rick alone playing keyboards, and on two tracks, a recorded orchestra backing track plays, but this does not cheapen the performance. It's not the long haired caped crusader from the 1970's, but if you're a fan of his later work, you'll enjoy this. The style of the performance parallels his Classical Connection albums and the Piano Tour album. [My only complaint about the whole concert is that there are bird sounds played in the background on his "Birdman of Alcatraz" track, but I'll let him get away with it this time!] My favorite Rick Wakeman dvd to date!
