Rating: Summary: Review Before Purchase Review: I had read the reviews previously written by those who bought the Moody Blues EP before the purchase. I got the picture. I was more interested in the pre-Days of Future Passed Moodies than after 1968. The video "Bye Bye Bird" was inaudible because I cannot hear what Denny is singing, but I can hear the instruments. I really liked "Really Haven't Got the Time" because it is so soulful. But, of course, I liked "Nights In White Satin" because it is sentimental and ethereal. But I wish the manufacturer, Classic Pictures, could add another song taken from German Television so the product can be more marketable. It is good for music professors as well as music students and researchers.
Rating: Summary: DON'T BUY Review: IF YOU THINK YOR'RE GETTING A MOODY BLUES DVD, FORGET IT. THREE SONGS BY THE VERY EARLY GROUP ARE ON THIS AND THEN IT GOES TO POP-UP VIDEOS, AND OTHER GROUPS NOT EVEN MENTIONED IN THE ORIGINAL ADD. I'M RETURNING MIME TO AMAZON FOR A FULL REFUND. THATS WHAT I GET FOR DEALING WITH A UNKNOWN FOREIGN SOURCE. VERY DISAPOINTED.

Rating: Summary: EP? Yes, Extremely Poor! Review: The Moody Blues EP is nothing more than an Extended Play commercial for other products by the distributor. Two of the three songs included are by the Mersey Beat Moodies, the Laine/Warwick group of the early 60s and "Go Now!". The better-known Moody Blues are represented by the classic "Nights in White Satin." If there is a plus side to this product, it is the chance to see the original Moodies, with both Denny Laine and Clint Warwick, and the opportunity to see the rest of the group as youngsters again. There is also the historical novelty of seeing music videos in their infancy. The nearly static filming of a live performance is an unimaginable distance from the slick, multi-tiered professional offerings of MTV and the current musical generation. The bulk of the DVD contains the "pop-up" previews and video jukebox, both nothing more than long-running commercials. It is annoying enough to have the few recognizable songs performed by the current versions of the groups, long past their prime and including wholesale personnel changes, or by cover artists who are largely unheard of. Adding insult to injury is the inclusion of non-stop crawlers at the bottom of the screen advertising other products by the producers. As a historical curiosity, this DVD has some marginal value. Other than that, it stinks. Absolutely not recommended.
Rating: Summary: Moody Blues EP Review: The only good item on the DVD was the Nights in White Satin and that is available on the Legend of a Band DVD. I was very disappointed. The cover artwork is very misleading. It makes you think that you will see more of the later Moodies Music.

Rating: Summary: the moody blues special edition ep Review: this dvd is not good at all, totally not what I expected. I have a lot of musical dvd's I even have another moody blues one. this one is one of if not the worst musical dvd's I have bought. the reason why is because it only has 3 moody blues videos on it. 2 of the songs are just really sub par moody blues songs it is nice to see the band doing they're thing back in 1966 however. and its nice to watch them in that 60's environment. I did not like how I could not watch this like a movie or something you always have to chose what video you are going to watch next and the music on the menu is very very annoying sounding I hate when dvd's have bad sounding music on the menu's. the previews that are on it are interesting but they are only previews, each one ends after a few seconds of seeing the band. nothing to make this dvd worth any money. and then I thought the dvd jukebox part might save this dvd, I was very interested to watch the ELP video for babba yaga, when kieth emerson came on I got excited and thought I would get to watch some ELP, but soon they started flashing comic book pictures on the screen very quickly and I almost got epilepsy, couldnt even see the band at all. very mad, very dissapointed and then what do you know they run advertisements by in a very intrusive way. this dvd really sucks i'm sending it back.

Rating: Summary: it's ok if you like the 60's R&B scene Review: This footage sounds like the stuff that has been in circulation amongst fans for a long time. It has early films of Denny Laine, Mike Pinder, Graeme Edge, Clint Warwick, and Ray Thomas, the original Moody Blues (Hayward and Lodge didn't join until August 1967!) Anyway if you have a taste for the time period when the Moodies were touring, in support of The Beatles, Wilson Pickett, Sonny Boy, and a host of other R&B performers, it's the DVD for you! If you are looking for Justin singing "Nights in White Satin" it's really a bad idea. I've seen worse.
Rating: Summary: Moodies great - rest not worth the $$$, not even 1 Star Review: This is a lot of money to spend on a minimal Moodies exposure. I was very disappointed and it makes me hesitant to purchase any like items for Amazon or any other on-line vendor. The system needs a "0" Star option for true review! Let the Buyer Beware!
