Summary: At last a Queen DVD.
Review: This is the first Queen DVD and also the first VHS release off a Queen Video. I Bought this video in the early eighties. At the thime the video won serveral awards! the concert was also shoot in the early eighties. Later we had Live at Budapest en Live at Wembely etc. This are better movies, but yout have to see this film in the right space of time. For a fil from the eighties it's great. I played this DVD over a great Dolby Digital sound system with a video projector and big screen. The sound and fils is great. I bought the Dutch version! This is a nice DVD for people who like.

Summary: Didn't really rock me
Review: As a long time fan of Queen (I saw them live in the early 70's) I was dissapointed with this title. The sound quality was poor even for the 80's and the look of the film makes me believe that it was originally shot for television rather than the big screen. The biggest mistake however, was made when synchronizing the vocal with the video. I believe that Queen played this venue two nights in a row with both shows being recorded. But the producers seemed to take audio from both nights (the best bits I guess) and dub them over the video so ,many times I could hear Freddie singing but could not see his mouth move. Overall I think the Queen performance was very good, but add to the mistakes listed already with a less than enthusiastic audience (why did they choose to shoot the film here anyway?)and poor camera work, it leaves me feeling a little ripped off. There are thousands of Queen fans in the US who are starving for more Queen video/music, and I know that there is a lot of much better material out there than this. I am suprised that Queen put it out in the first place, and this coming from a guy who, several years ago bought a laser disc player just to watch a collection of Queen live videos not available on tape. Give us live at Earl's court, live at Hammersmith or live at Hyde Park, but not this.

Summary: If you were expecting great sound better buy a cassette
Review: Most than half the movie I resisted the temptation of turning off that awful sound and began a break dance on the DVD.

Freddy would hide of shame.

This DVD are live performances, with bad shoot places.

If I have not bought it, I wouldnt finish seeing it, thats sad because I personally would give ten stars to Queen itself.

Summary: Why you shouldn't buy this DvD !
Review: Those of us who were priveledged to see Queen in their pomp, could not be more disapointed with the result of this recording. Filmed over two nights, the producers have contrived to allow the sound track to become out of time with the visual picture, resulting in parts where Freddie can be clearly heard to sing, but without moving his lips ! .Add this to a bad audio mix, and a unresponsive audience, and this is unbelieveably bad. I'm surprised Queen allowed it to be released.

If you are a collector of Queen material, you would be better off saving your money and buying the video version which can be had considerably cheaper, and with not a great deal of difference in sound or picture quality. The other video's, Live at wembley stadium" and "Live in Budapest" offer much better sound, picture, and overall quality, so you're better off waiting for those on DVD.

This production really does not do justice to a band whose live shows were the most powerfull and innovative of their era. But don't just take my word for it, buy it and see for yourself, it won't be long before you return it ! .

Summary: The band is great as ever, but..
Review: As a big Queenfan I couldn't wait to get this one on DVD. Freddie and the guys are great. I especially liked this life-version of "Somebody to love". Check out THAT voice ! Freddie's vocal abilities show well enough through this performance. All the songs were ok, it's just too bad the people weren't quite as enthusiastic as they could have been. The quality of the recording is alright since it was taped back in the early eighties and with regular TV cameras. I am very disappointed at the menu. All you can do is select songs. How about an unreleased interview or some behind-the-stage footage ? Bottom line: Despite some flaws, a must buy for every Queenfan who has a DVD.

Summary: Doesn't do Queen justice
Review: When I first saw this at the store, I wondered why it was released on DVD. This has always been the worst of the Queen live videos, but that's not their fault. Queen play as well as ever, but it seems that both the audience and the audio engineers were asleep for the whole show. Even in 5.1 digital audio, the sound is horrid. The drums and bass are completely lost throughout, as if you're listening to it through a drive-in theater speaker. And the audience...good Lord, they don't even know the words to "Love of My Life" (as Freddie dejectedly points out during the song). More than once he tries to coerce them to stand or even clap their hands, but to no avail. So avoid this one, as much as I hate to say it, and start bugging Hollywood Records to release Live at Wembley or Rock in Rio...tapes that do Queen justice.

Summary: horrible
Review: I have loved freddie for almost 25 years and this dvd is a waste of money. It has poor quality and sound. If you work for a living, save your money and buy champions of the world.

Summary: Awe-striking! Amazing and well worth watching!
Review: The concert played here is absolutely a definate Queen show. Freddie Mercury is in top form throughout, poncing about and singing for all he's worth. Countless hits are presented, one after the other, and will not leave you disappointed. I myself have watched it time and again. This is especially great for those of us who found Queen only after the unfortunate death of Freddie Mercury. In this way it is possible to nearly relive one of the wonderful concerts that Queen was so renowned for. Definately a must for any and all Queen fans. Shows them in their height of glory. You won't regret the purchase!

Summary: Fantastic Concert, Flawed DVD
Review: After reading some of the negative reviews below I was skeptical about this DVD. I was pleasantly surprised to learn the reviews below are flat out wrong. The person who said this is bootleg quality is either lying or simply does not know what they are talking about. The quality of the film is excellent. This is VERY professionally recorded. The picture of the FILM is very sharp. For the most part the DVD does a good job of presenting this. However, there is tons of pixelation. There are large areas of shadow that become very grainy. Occasionally a flash of a spotlight will turn into complete pixelation. As for the sound, it is sharp but oddly mixed. The guitar in particular seems to get very loud at parts drowning out the other instruments. But it's Brian May so that's not necessarily a bad thing. The reason Freddie sings without moving his mouth is that two shows were edited together and that creates some minor indescrepencies between sound and image. As for the performance itself it is absolutely top notch. The band really goes for broke. Freddie hits all the high notes and then some. And were those real tears I saw during "Somebody to Love"? This is Queen at the height of their popularity before their decline in the States. If you were too young to be there then this is the next best thing. (You may even think you ARE there at times!) If you are a Queen fan you have nothing to fear. This DVD will deliver.
