Rating: Summary: Jonatha Brooke will Linger with you ..... Review: I've been a fan of Jonatha's from her days with The Story, and was excited to see Steady Pull released on CD. By complete surprise I found this DVD and was thoroughly amazed and HAPPY for days! This is a DVD to relish, the individual videos are very casual and simple...these songs don't need to overdazzle you with visuals, it's like hanging out with Jonatha and her crew and sharing the joy they had pulling the songs together and finding so many happy accidents that brought these gems of music to completion. Many of the contributing artists are ones I've been familiar with for so many years, and I can't think of a more perfect album in ages. Bob Clearmountain should be proud of this production! Bringing in artists like Marcus Miller (film score composer of Siesta), Mitchell Froom (film score composer of Slam Dance), Neil Finn, Michael Franti, Joe Sample, and others not only enhances Jonatha's creativity but also gives layers of extra life like a true collaberation of expression and sharing. While so many "artists" grind away noise and sound so one-dimensional, Jonatha shows she has what it takes by playing so many of the intstruments and co-producing. Rock music in general has become so stagnant, and artists like Jonatha Brooke are breathing new life into rock, and has even brought a refreshing change to the music video format. The song Linger does literally "bust out of the speakers" as Jonatha put it, and sets you up for a smile that lasts for twelve songs. Each track holds its own and keeps you hooked. Everything from acoustic (Lullaby), funky (Steady Pull), pop (Room In My Heart), edgy (Out Of Your Mind), and sweet (New Dress), I know this is an album that will be played frequently for years to come. I haven't had this much love for an album since Sinead Lohan's "No Mermaid." Wow, a full video album, DVD audio on the flip side, behind the scenes footage, this is perfection! Jonatha Brooke is an amazing talent and you can't help but feel wonderful when listening to her music. Get the CD for listening anywhere and this DVD for a full experience at home! You'll be swept away! Jonatha, you are well loved by this reviewer and by the way.....nice pants!!

Rating: Summary: Jonatha Brooke will Linger with you ..... Review: Jonatha Brooke is one of the greatest singer songwriters in music today, let alone performers and musicians. You won't see her overplayed on radio or teenagers trying to be her (though it would not hurt)...Her music is refreshing... This DVD captures the best kept secret in the music business...the behind the scenes footage to the simple live performances that allow the music to speak to you on its own terms is a treat...Jonatha Brooke should be heard by all, so we can all remember what music is supposed to be like...I have friends who love pop, rock, rap, and hip hop, and all bought this DVD and love it...This DVD will become a favorite in your music/DVD library..Also look into her CDs...All four of her solo workS are great...Plumb, Ten cent wings, Live, and the newest one! She tours throughout the US and she is great in concert...Go discover her..
Rating: Summary: the full potential for dvd-audio fully realised Review: This one has it all. Dolby digital stereo, 5.1 and DTS with full motion music video on one side, 5.1 88khz/24 and stereo 176khz on the "audio" side. It even has interviews, outtakes and captioned lyrics! My cup runneth over, it is the all-in-one dvd I have been waiting for. The only dvd-a that comes even close is my Blue Man DVD. My congratulations to Jonatha Brooke, Bob Clearmountain and everyone else involved in this vision of an album. It's wonderfully mixed with pristine audio. Darn likeable music too. Anyone with a dvd-audio setup should have this gem in their collection. I can only hope that other artists follow this example, as I hope to see more albums with this quality and features!
