Rating: Summary: A look back at a totally under-rated (here in the US) band Review: This collection serves as an interesting and enjoyable look back at the underappreciated band Crowded House. Even the casual US music fan will recognize "Don't Dream It's Over" and perhaps "Something So Strong", but chances are this collection will be more of a chance for the already-converted to get a look at videos which never appeared on this side of the Pacific. Stylistically, the videos run the gamut from almost home-movie quality (what's up with that ski cap, Neil?) to the well-polished, studio-massaged productions that music videos have become. The only minor complaint is that the "extras" consist of a 20-some minute "interview" which is really just a replay of the videos from the first album, interlaced with scenes of the Crowded House guys goofing off for the cameras... not much to get excited about. For a Crowded House/Neil Finn fan, this is an absolute winner -- either to get the videos you've never seen before, or even just as an freshening-up of the "I Like To Watch" video. For the casual fan, I'd probably start with the audio CDs so you can focus on the music, and work your way up to this one, once you've discovered the delights of Crowded House more fully.
Rating: Summary: Another cardboard tombstone? Review: This DVD is for loyal Crowded House fans. Everyone else, stay away. The video quality on some of the tracks is like watching a 2nd generation VHS tape. If you enjoy their music and are curious to see their interesting, albeit non-elaborate video interpretations, then sit back and enjoy. Make sure you buy it on sale!
Rating: Summary: Nice to watch once Review: To me, Crowded House are more of a band that you listen to, rather than watch. The videos are typical of the time they were filmed, some looking very dated now. All of their hit singles are included on this DVD with stereo or 5.1 surround sound as an option.
This is nice to own if you are a die-hard fan and need reminding of a great band that they were. However, as the majority of video clips are rather dull (also the guys aren't much to look at), your best bet is to just listen to your CD's.
Once only viewing.
Rating: Summary: This is a RECURRING DREAM come true! Review: To see the videos here in perfect quality...was long overdue from CAPITAL! I can't believe others found these videos boring and outdated. Each Video has a quality that is far superior to most of the video garbage that has graced MTV since...do they even show videos anymore? The EXTRAS are GREAT! CROWDED HOUSE LIVE, signing records; You even get to hear an early live version of BETTER BE HOME SOON. One of the GREATEST bands in the history of music and Neal continues to thrive as a solo artist!

Rating: Summary: Dreaming The Videos - review Review: YOU really do know more Crowded House songs than you think. It's been a long time coming but this new release captures the essence of what was probably one of the greatest pop acts of the last century. Perhaps best known for their songs about the weather, perfectly exquisite melodies and awesome live performances (of which there is one example here), it's no surprise why Crowded House were held in such high regard not only Down Under but the world over. This DVD documents much of their singles catalog from the smash hit "Mean To Me" in 1986 through to the Beatles-esque "Not The Girl You Think You Are" in 1996, with no shortage of pop-heaven fodder in between. Granted, some of the videos are beautifully produced, some are just plain weird, but then somehow it all just seems to fit together perfectly to form what is doubtlessly a veritable cornerstone of music history. If you call yourself a music lover then you really shouldn't be without this.
