Rating: Summary: Really crappy if you're not a young girl Review: I listened to some of Savage Garden's CDs and thought they were OK. So I thought I'd get this DVD. Was I dissapointed! I think the other reviewers are young girls looking at the boys instead of the talent.
Rating: Summary: They've won me over! Review: I normally don't embrace music and musicians with all out acceptance, partly due to the fact that they or their music have less than desirable moments. But, this video shows Savage Garden at their best on-stage, and most human off-stage. Nobody's perfect or should ever be held to such a standard, but these folks make for realistic role models for my two sons. I wanted to "review" the video before I presented it to them (my sons). The video passes with flying colors despite one "damm" during the documentary (so what?). Both of my sons are in the midst of exploring their musical talent and I see this as a means for them to see where it could lead them. Drugs, Sex, and Alcohol don't have to be the byproducts of a successful music career! Well, the sex part.....nevermind...*S* On a more serious note, if you liked their audio CDs, you will truly like, if not love this concert video plus many extras. I especially liked the three multi-angle concert videos. I can't wait for them to tour again....I will bring my sons along!
Rating: Summary: Really amazing performers Review: I saw Savage Garden end their World Tour here in South Africa. They are truly amazing performers and every song performed was brilliant. I would do anything to see them live again! Its worth buying this, I watch it over and over again!
Rating: Summary: WOW AND WOW AND WOW AGAIN - U GUYS ROCK Review: I saw sg on their affirmation tour in england and they were awesome, and the dvd brings back loads of memories which will stay with me forever - the commentary on the songs section shows just what truly amazing and deep guys they are - and i love the extra 3 vids (especially crash and burn) thats most definately my fav. The parallel lives documentary shows just how talented a couple they are and just how funny darren is - keep it up 4eva guys cause u rock like no-one has ever rocked b4.
Rating: Summary: I was there! Review: I was at the Brisbane Savage Garden concert when the footage was taken. It perfectly captures the emotion of the night - our excitement when the concert started (I get butterflies in my stomach when I watch the start of the video) and the beautiful emotion behind the music. The documentary is fabulous. There are some really candid, honest moments. But the best thing is when Darren lets his personality shine and we see some of his flamboyance and wackiness. There are also some great insights into exactly what goes into making Savage Garden's inspiring music. The only bad thing about the video is that even though I was at the concert where they filmed it, and I know I was filmed a lot, those shots were edited out of the final version. Oh well - that's probably for the best - not sure I really wanted to have my hyperactivity recorded on film forever! A must have for all dedicated Savage Garden fans.
Rating: Summary: Why haven't you bought this DVD yet?! Review: I wish I had been right there in Brisbane! This was an amazing concert, and it is so refreshing to find a pop singer/group that can sing live! Darren's voice never wavered, nor did his dance steps; and of course we mustn't forget Daniel, who did a great job on both the guitar and piano. "I Don't Know You Anymore" was quite beautiful, even better in this live version. The "skit" (is that the right word?) for "Gunning Down Romance" was perfect; incredible idea, one that I had never heard or seen before. I wish there were more Savage Garden (and Darren hayes) concerts available on DVD!
Rating: Summary: A worth buying DVD Review: I've been a Savage Garden fan for a long while.... So I bought their first DVD as soon as I saw it on my DVD Store. But I was a bit dissapointed because I only had 5 songs, and no extras at all. Well, this DVD was kind of a vindication. It not only includes the great concert, but also the other Music videos they released: I Knew I loved You... , Affirmation and Crash and Burn. You can also find a documentary the group "behind the scene.". But the option I like the most is the multi angle they include in three songs. You can see those videos from different angles during the concert, so you can play like a video editor, it's really cool. The video quality is great, also the audio. 5.1 option rocks you out, you feel as if you were there in the middle of the concert. The only weak point of the DVD is the lack of subtitles in the extra music videos like the first DVD. They ruined my Karaoke...:( BTW, the DVD is not region 1, it's a multiregion DVD like almost all the Music VIdeo DVDs.
Rating: Summary: Australian Idol Review: If you like Clay Aiken (American Idol) you will like this as the lead singer in Savage Garden has an even better voice. In addition, there is a good show performance. This DVD is worth buying.
Rating: Summary: The camera tells all. Review: It's amazing. Of all the concert DVDs I've ever bought...this one surpasses them all. Never have I seen such artistry and pure emotional talent be so well captured by a camera. The grace and poetry in the movement and performance of Darren Hayes is one that will hold your attention throughout the show. Daniel Jones remains but a whisper of excellence in the shadows. HE's felt though not always seen. These are two men that prove that the art of a live show isn't dead and that true talent shines brighter then any special effects or flashy dances. If it doesn't captivate you....nothing will.
Rating: Summary: Yeah Baby Review: oh yeah baby, i was in the conncert in mexico city and it was the greatest concert i've ever been to. My favorite song "the lover after me" was performed flawlessly, i just loved the show. I strongly recomend this video to the real savage fans.
