Summary: Not near the quality of the '74 recording
Review: It is through performances such as this that I realized how "hit and miss" my tastes were back in High School. Then I thought RW was the greatest -- this video proves how dated (and at times ridiculous) his more audacious works are.

Review: OK, the photo quality was pretty poor (especially the "special effects") and every one looked like they were burned out at the end of a long tour, but I was expecting to get a DVD that at least had the same sound quality as his '74 recording in London. This was far from it. It sounds like they just put a mike out in the audience. My high school concert band recordings' during the same era had better sound.

And the orchestra and chior didn't seem to be very good (but it could have just been the sound quality). Many times, they didn't seem to even be in beat with him.

It was interesting to see though. I do wish that they would have shown more of his hands on the keyboards, but this was also kept to a minimum. Well, at least I could show my daughter what an old synthesizer looked like.

Summary: What's under that cape?
Review: Rick Wakeman, apart from being possibly the most amazing, challenging musician EVER is actually really hot to boot! Even if you are not a fan of Rick Wakeman or The Travelling Wilburys, this video is worth it just for the raw sex appeal of not only Rick but of the two lead singers who more than competently convey sensualism while communicating complex themes through wonderful singing. Plus a fantastic bonus CD of all the great music puts this value over the top; I rate this a 5 star because their is no six!

Summary: Good stuff!!
Review: This DVD provides something that I never thought I would ever see, a live performance by Rick Wakeman during his heyday after releasing "Six Wives", "Journey", and "Arthur." I have Rick's excellent performance on Yes's "Keys to Ascension" DVD, and the audio quality has me spoiled, which is why I only gave this 4 stars. But I would still highly recommend this DVD - the audio is really not that bad considering that it was recorded in the 70's. And Rick's performances are wonderful. Not only is "Journey to the Centre of the Earth" reproduced in its entirety (excepting a couple of quick edits), but several songs from "Six Wives" and two from "Arthur" (including Merlin the Magician, one of my favorites)are also included. Many thanks to Rick for providing the music and performance, and to the music industry executives who backed this release.

Summary: great purchase!
Review: This is an excellent value. Not only do you get the dvd, but it also comes with an audio cd of "journey". And, you get it all for a great price. The quality of the dvd is good. Some people were disappointed with the quality, but you have to take for granted that this was filmed in the mid seventies. We are lucky that it is available on dvd in the first place! All in all, if you are a Wakeman fan, this is an excellent buy.

Summary: Not ewerything is good on DVD
Review: This is not a DVD with quality. The Concert from 1975, but quality far from that. I recommend to turn down the sound look at the TV-picture. Turn on the audio CD of "The Journey..." in orginal. That's help!

I'm Sorry! I'm not supriced!
