Rating: Summary: best thing ever Review: awesome setlist, all the hits & everything else. you'll love the part with so many different versions of "s.r." the commentary is hilarious. overall great great show, everything you'd expect from rbf and then some. not to mention how hot aaron looks...
Rating: Summary: The RBF Rocks! Review: Being a Reel Big Fish fan, I felt compelled to pick this DVD concert up. Best. Decision. Ever. I watch quite a bit of DVD concerts, and this one is definately my favorite. The Fish are just so darn entertaining. It really is something you WATCH as well as listen too. The songs are catchy, the band is fun, and I've since watched it 5 times. Our college apartment will get a crowd over and someone will eventually go, "PLAY THAT REEL BIG FISH SONG ON THE DVD!" Great concert! You won't be disappointed. These guys are the peak of ska music. Do the Fish and pick this up. Don't be a sell-out.
Rating: Summary: I like it alright Review: I love RBF's music, I've seen them play twice, and loved both shows I'd been to. Having seen this DVD on the market, I bought it immediately. I'd never seen them perform with Tyler Jones before this DVD... Man, I can't stand him! Couldn't the guy just shut the hell up??? He's annoying throughout, he's an obnoxious drunk, keeps yelling out "We're number 87!" which nobody else in the band thinks is funny, and you can just watch Aaron and Scott both thinking, "What the hell is Tyler doing?" It's really hard to watch, but the music is great, and the rest of the band is as entertaining as ever. I'd have given it five stars but for Tyler's performance.
Rating: Summary: NEW DVD IS GREAT, BUT... Review: Let me start by saying this DVD is amazing. Great songs, energy on stage, and antics that make Reel Big Fish one of the best bands to see live. The songs they play on this DVD are great, and really show how well RBF can play live. My only complaint is that 3 songs that I know of from this show were not included on the DVD. Rock it With I, Boss DJ, and Kiss me Deadly. These are all cover songs, and I'm sure that it was licensing issues, but I would have rather waited until they got these cleared to release the DVD. These are some of my favorite cover songs that Reel Big Fish does. They got permission to put Take on Me on there, why not the others? I still had to give this DVD a 5, cause it is still a great DVD that showcases RBF talent perfectly. Buy it as soon as you can. Hopefully someday we will see these other songs in one way or another.
Rating: Summary: I like it alright Review: This cd goes thru RBF from old to the new. They're music is just fun and upbeat and you can not be in a bad mood watching this. If you are in a bad mood, you won't be for long. The commentary is hilarious, and the video quality is excellent! Buy it now!
Rating: Summary: Great DVD for anyone! Review: This cd goes thru RBF from old to the new. They're music is just fun and upbeat and you can not be in a bad mood watching this. Rating: Summary: Good Show Review: This is a great DVD for huge fans and novices alike. The set list is good, the band has great stage presence and enthusiasm, and they pull out some of their best tricks, such as playing S.R. in several different styles and playing Hepcat's "Dance Wid Me" in the middle of "She Has A Girlfriend Now." Unfortunately, three covers are cut out of the performance, and no show can have everyone's favorite songs, (I personally missed "Somebody Loved Me," "Somebody Hates Me," and "She's Famous Now" here, amongst others) but this is an example of what it's like to see Reel Big Fish rock the house on any given night, showing that they are one of the most fun live acts out there.
Rating: Summary: Very Disappointing Review: This Live DVD serves as a prime example of the difference between studio work and a live concert situation. In contrast to their studio stuff, the horns are off rhythmically and in intonation most of the times, and the rhythm section is not grooving at all.
Since I really liked their studio CDs I was looking forward to seeing this DVD, and let me tell you, I was never so disappointed in a music DVD as I was in this one.
I am a musician myself, I play ska/reaggae and know what it's supposed to sound like. And that's why I will in the future stick to artists like The Skatalites and the The Slackers for the real thing!!
