Summary: Very good but not the best one
Review: So the masters are back, that's great. Depeche Mode show 20 years after their first live concert that they're still the best live act in the world ever.
Dave, the frontman, gives the audience energy, Martin, gives soul and Fletch sound.
Such songs like "When te body speaks" and "Waiting for the night"
take us back to the earlier black Depeche, but It's no good and I feel you let us see a bit of light among the black clouds.
Although it isn't in the same league as Devotional, this live concert has enough quality to be the best one in the year 2001.

Summary: The best DM live DVD
Review: This is far and away the best DM live DVD. the video direction is just amazing and each song has a very different and climatic mood to it.

The only thing i woudl have liked to see done better is the slection of songs. There is only 1 song from music for the masses and 2 from black celebration. I really would have liked to see them take some ultra songs out and play songs from those albums.

All in all though, an excellent dvd. dont pass this one up.

Summary: DVD and Depeche Mode a beautiful Combination
Review: Can we say hours of fun? Obsessive fun. The kind of fun which brings one hours of entertainment?

Anton Corbijn directed this concert magnificently. I revisted the Exiter tour 3 times within my area, and this DVD made me feel like I was right there again.

Depeche Mode always known for their charismatic stage presence (Dave Gahan and Martin Gore specifically) really shines through in this DVD. With lovely camera angles and glorious music, it makes the eye candy shine all the better.

5 stars, I'd give it more but this DVD is the reason Amazon limits you in stars.

Summary: A very intimate evening beautifully filmed
Review: This video grows on you. As the concert progresses, you feel the energy of the audience feeding the band. ... Having said that, I am very pleased with this DVD. It is a very artistic combination of cinematography and sound...a unique addition to your collection.

Summary: Depeche Mode : One Night Obsessed With Gahan's Upper Body
Review: I'm so glad I bought this item used because this production is not the best I've seen from this excellent group. First of all, seeing David Gahan's nude sweaty upper body was not a pretty sight. His dancing reminds me of Andy Bell from Erasure, except that Gahan seems under the influence of something. Yes, other reviews here praise the sound and picture quality, and the camera work is good as well, but the performance and song selection is not superior to other productions such as 101. Anton Corbijn fails to capture the band members as a group, leaving Andy Fletcher, the most important member as the synth player, almost completely forgoten. The second disc was almost unnecessary. Borrow this from a friend.

Summary: Corbijn and DM: a lethal combination
Review: Ever since Anton Corbijn photographed U2's "Achtung Baby" I've been aware of his work and had a great respect for him. This time around, he directed the film of Depeche Mode's 2001 Exciter Tour, during one of their performances in Paris. The concert in and of itself is a great performance by DM, with a good chunk of the songs taken from their 2001 Exciter album, but the band spiced those up with a few from past times. All in all the musical blend is exquisite, with "Halo", "Walking in my shoes" and "Waiting for the night" among my favorites. But the band's performance, with Dave Gahan's Elvis-like contorsions and jumps in the air, and Martin Gore playing the guitar and fronting three of the songs, was beautifully complemented by a show designed around color and back projections that worked wonders with the band in the foreground.

The concert DVD (remember this is a double-DVD) is complemented (and underline the word complemented) by a second DVD with some great features. Anton Corbijn comments to great extent on a lot of shots he took of the band, both in his signature B&W style and in color (yes, you read well). Also, the band talks with the camera, answering some questions about their work and their own lives. I found interesting Martin's answer to the question "Are you happy?" (he said yes), considering what he answered when questioned "What crosses your mind while on stage?" (he thinks he could die at that moment...) I guess that explains his face with a sad expression during some of the close-ups they do on him during the show. Finally, the 5 videos projected against the screen behind the band during the show are also packed with the second DVD, so you can get a glimpse of the video of Dave Gahan fantasizing about the waitress in an L.A. cafe. It's a very nice piece of work that you will enjoy for sure if you've followed the band's work, but also one that you can find delightful from a photography point of view, thanks to the brilliant work of Anton Corbijn.

Summary: MIXED FEELINGS
Review: Sound is great, picture is great. This show has a certain raw quality that I really like. But I'm not crazy about the songlist. Wish they would have included some more of their older hits to make up for the lack of a "101" DVD. Best are "freelove" & "waiting for the night" ... but I'm just not wearing it out like some of my older DM stuff.

Summary: DM delivers
Review: This wasn't by far the best concert film I have ever seen, but it was one of the best concerts.

Not the best film because of the sound quality, which I felt could have been much better and the editing and camera angles.

One of the best concerts because of Depeche Mode's performances, their wide range of hits. Can't really go wrong there.

The dvd itself is another story. The bonus items and added features make this entirely worthwhile for DM fans. It's reasonably priced for a two-disc set and well packaged.

Fans won't be disappointed.

Summary: Good concert but...
Review: I play this concert after the U2 Elevation Tour 2001 expecting the same camera shots and quality of sound for Depeche Mode I expected this DVD almost finish with the good image I have. I was in Germany tour DM of 93 and was more better.
