Summary: my favorite video that i own
Review: this, as others have said, is a must-have for They fans. it is fantastic. i had the older version, and i'm so glad i got this - i can't believe what i was missing!! Ana Ng, is, of course, the best - the only dance that i can actually do!! Learn the dance. It's fun. Then there's Birdhouse in Your Soul - another great one if you're in the mood of dancing to They. hehe. I loved Doctor Worm, as well - it has great cartoons, and i love the "Choreography" part! and you can't miss the Tiny Toons videos! you MUST get this video.

Summary: Finally, all the TMBG videos in one place! Outstanding.
Review: TMBG fans must have. Note the early low tech but high energy style. John and John are excited to perform. The bigger budget videos follow, and the latter show a restrained use of sets and camera that comes with less cash for production. The music remains the best kept secret in rock, the videos serve as a chronologically reversed study of the duo. People paid 40 or 50 bucks to get the 1986-88 TMBG tape on e-bay. Here's your chance to see why.

Summary: TMBG's Video Collection Rocks!
Review: TMBG's video productions are just as wacky as their music. This tape is superbly formatted, has very good quality and the music is great! The videos are arranged in order from newest to oldest.

Summary: An excellent DVD for an excellent band. Just a few problems.
Review: Well, I was very excited when Direct From Brooklyn was released on VHS, but I did not purchase it knowing the DVD would eventually come out. And it did. A few years after the VHS, but who cares. The DVD is overall great, animated menus (in a way), extras, and of course, John Linnell and John Flansburgh.
OK, now the special features. All the official videos are there except Boss Of Me, the Malcom In The Middle theme song. Which was a great video, but it's a minor loss. Again, it has all of the videos plus the two Tiny Toon Adventures videos ("Particle Man" and "Istanbul"), and a new live video of "Why Does The Sun Shine?" from a 2002 tour. Each video's audio track is in Dolby Pro Logic Surround, which is old technology. Also, every video, including the bonus videos have commentary from the two John's in the background. Plus, there are three bonus unreleased songs that are audio-only tracks, a trailer for the TMBG independent film, "Gigantic," and three DVD-ROM only home videos of their songs, recorded by John Linell. I did find a lot of technical problems with the DVD, though. A few of the videos are low quality, and all of them are grainy, a few don't have commentary when you go to the commentary tracks, and some selections on the menu don't do what they are supposed to. For example, pressing "Play All" on the main menu only plays Doctor Worm, and brings you back to the main menu. Plus, during some videos, the screen flickers black a few times. That's about it.
Well, that's my review of this DVD. Overall, I think it still deserves five stars because of how great the band is, and all of the songs on here. Just ignore a few problems, and you have a perfect DVD. Well, almost perfect, anyway.

Summary: Super for TMBG Fans
Review: What a great DVD of TMBG's greatest songs! It includes their original videos, of course, along with their commentary. Overall, I was very happy with this. It'll keep those TMBG tunes going in your head hours after viewing it. A must for TMBG fans.

Summary: Finally on DVD!
Review: When this collection was first announced (Direct from Brooklyn) it was to be released on both VHS and DVD. However, when it came close to it's release date they sent out a letter apologizing, but saying that it would only be released on VHS. I was very very disappointed. It looks as though it may have been worth the wait, having bonus features that didn't exist when it should have come out almost 4 years ago. I am tremendously excited by this release, and I can't imagine it not living up to my expectations.... but if it doesn't, I'll let you know.

Summary: Love the Giants; thought the VHS version was a small thing.
Review: Yeah, I'm the biggest little They Might Be Giants Fan in the world. [...]

The videos were . . . interesting. I ended up liking them. After all, it's John and John being John and John. I must say, I'd hoped the videos would shed light on the meanings of their quirky songs. They didn't, really. You'll get used to it though. In time, you'll come to enjoy these two nuts bouncing crazily across your screen. You might even crave it, depending on how much of a fan you are.

However, the VHS version [...]

Furthermore, there were white streaks shooting across the picture. At first, because I know how unique the Giants are, I thought they'd done it on purpose. Like this was some artsy "make it look ancient" gimmick. [...] I had to order the DVD version through our wonderful Amazon.com. At half the price!

I recommend the DVD. You get commentary by Linnel and Flansburgh and some other nifty stuff. [...].

Later, folks. . .

Summary: One fun collection
Review: You could say a lot about these videos by They Might Be Giants. One word that keeps coming up in my mind is "Fun!"

Every video on this collection is fun in it's own way. Videos like Puppet Head, Don't Lets Start, and Ana Ng prove you don't have a Big Budget, or any budget at all, to produce great videos.

Songs like Birdhouse in Your Soul, Istanbul, Statue Got Me High, and Purple Toupee are some of the most amazing examples of song writing.

Each video has commentary from both of the band's leader, John Linnel and John Flansburgh, which prove to both insightful and entertaining. In fact the commentary track for the "Snail Shell" video is actually a new improvised song.

Their are a few dissapointments however. The music sounds good, but it's just in stereo. No fancy 5.1 remixing here. Also the video for Boss of Me is missing, no doubt due to the fact that it's owned by FOX. Also the extras are lacking, the few here good, but given the span of this band history their could of been a lot more.
