Rating: Summary: very BEST concert Review: This concert is great, VERY Great! The sound & image quality is a highlight in DVD and VHS format and the widescreen format (16:9) is a good election. The classics songs versions are very good (for example "I am a rock", "Kodachrome" and "Late in the evening"). The band had excellents members like Mark Stewart, STEVE GADD, VINCENT NGUINI and Tony Cedras; others members like Andy Snitzer, Evan Ziporyn and Alain Mallet aren't so good. Bakithi Kumalo is good musician but I prefer to ARMAND SABAL-LECCO (appears in Paul Simon's the concert in the park). The Paul Simon vocal interpretation is excellent in ALL songs. The Paul gesticulation is interesting except in songs like "Darling Lorraine" and "One man's ceiling..." where is a bit exaggerate. The list songs is a good selection of the all-career songs obviously focus in the "You're the one" album and perhaps too much in the "Graceland" album and anything of "Songs from the capeman" (why Paul?).Finally, is a VERY BEST concert (I put 5 stars), the "disappointments" are very little comparate with the constant highlights. Believe me, you MUST buy this DVD (or VHS)

Rating: Summary: A masterpiece! Review: This concert performance is the musical equivalent of a perfectly aged wine. Thank you, Paul Simon, for still rockin' after all these years.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Audio and Video Really Bring this Disc to Life Review: This DVD has it all...the songs we all know and love - packaged in a truly fabulous audio and video presentation! The DTS 5.1 format really brings this performance to life, making this one of my favourites to "show off" the home theatre. A must have for any audio enthusiast! Even if you aren't in it for the audio/video quality, the song selection is superb, covering all of the old favourites! Paul Simon and his band really capture the essence of the music in this amazing performance! Definitely a DVD that you will pull off the shelf monthly - it won't be collecting dust!
Rating: Summary: He's old but he can play Review: This DVD is necessary to all the fans of Paul Simon: 26 songs cover all the decades of his career. The band is a great one, besides the usual Steve Gadd on drums, Jamey Haddad and Steve Shehan are fabulous percussionists, and with Bakithi Kumalo playing bass they form a wondrous rhytmic section. OK, Paul Simon on stage isn't Bono nor "Boss" but the music, the musicians and the arrangements are great and it's a pleasure to see a clear anamorphic widescreen DVD image while listening a wonderful DTS audio track, the PCM track is good but for the sake of your ears avoid the DD track.
Rating: Summary: Great Music - Mediocre DVD Review: This is a great concert and I only wish I could have been in Paris to see this live. Simon plays a wide variety of hits, from his latest album "Your The One", to "Graceland", and even a few tunes he originally did with Simon and Garfunkle. The camera work is outstanding - it is clear that the production crew knew the music as the camera is not just fixed on Paul Simon the entire video, but features each performer during their own respective segments and solos. My only complaint is that the picture quality is horrible for a new DVD release. Paul Simon himself looks nice and clear, yet the bright lights and light instruments such as horns and light colored guitars look like you are looking through a dirty lense. I just don't think this is acceptable on a DVD this new. Also - there are NO extras. No behind the sceens interviews - nothing. Just the concert, subtitles, and sound options. Again, I would expect more from a new concert DVD. All that said - the music is all excellent, the sound is great, and for this I give it 4 out of 5 stars. If you are a fan of Paul Simon, old or young, buy this DVD. You will not be disappointed in the music presented here.

Rating: Summary: Great DVD!! Review: This is a great disc. Video is pretty good (even in the correct aspect ratio), colors rich and clear, a description that fits just about all DVDs. But the audio!! Wow. A great recording of a great concert featuring great music performed by a diverse group of highly skilled musicians. Does it get any better than this? This is so good that folks who are not Paul Simon fans would enjoy it.
Rating: Summary: Still great after all thease years Review: this is by far my most favorite DVD easy to listen to fun to watch.
Rating: Summary: So far, by far, the very best Paul simon concert video ... Review: This is the best example of how Paul simon is performing these days, this video concert first of all has an outstanding quality sound and picture, you can actually really watch pauls face when he is concentrated on the lyrics and his great,(really great guitar fingerpicking), In the DVD he performs songs from his new album, and songs of his solo carrer and simon and garfunkel as well, and this is an exicitng moment, when he takes his Martin guitar and starts to play the chords of -old friends- followed by Homeward bound and -i am rock- which he seldom performed on concerts recently, until this tour, but is almost impossible to choose a favorite, all of the tunes are perfectly performed, he hasnt lost his touch, his voice is perfect, he is 59! and he is still phrasing perfectly, with a touch of melancholy that he`s always had, but revealing a sincerity that very few have come to achive the way he does., just listen to the beatiful rendition of- the boxer- at the end of the concert!!! Finaly I would really recomend this video to any Paul simon fan,it is performed at an intimate place , Olimpia Theater. it is worth more than it costs,... for the simple reason that concerts of true legends, dont come very often with this perfection...Dont pass it by...
