Rating: Summary: This one is for fans only... Review: I don't think the common buyer will enjoy this one. But then...It's Shania!!! It will features various TV performances of Shania TV specials, some of them featuring special guests like the Backstreet Boys and Elton John. Die-hard fans shouldn't miss this one, though! A must have!
Rating: Summary: Not, "In Thier Entirety" Review: I never saw the original CBS version of Shania's Winter Break. I've only seen the edited VH-1 version, which this is identical to. I bought this to see my current favorite artist, Shania Twain, and could really do without the "Backdoor" Boys & Elton John, although "Amneris' Letter" is a beautiful song, and Elton could not have chosen a better artist to perform it. I have seen three versions of the, "Come On Over", Special. This one is also identical to the VH-1 edited version. I expected this to be a combination of all versions of this special to truly be in it's entirety. Sadly, it is not, and I was disappointed. Specifically, some of Shania's comments between songs have been edited out (for example, Shania told us one of her favorite lines that she has ever written, in the original CBS Special, but you'd never know what it is if you've only seen this. It's the first half of the second verse in the song, "Come On Over"), part of the locker room scene with Allison Cornell was edited out, and the jersey scene was sped up (Allison cuts a football jersey to fit Shania better). Some of Shania's interactions with the Cowboys and "other" Cheerleaders were also edited out. I personally dont understand why they would edit it like this. For television, to fit time constraints, I can understand, but this is intended for home viewing, and doesn't have to fit into a time frame. All of this editing was done to include an extra song in the VH-1 version which was not on the CBS Thanksgiving Day Special. We get to see Shania perform, "Any Man Of Mine", and duet with Allison. I rated this one three stars based upon all of the editing that was done, and the fact that it is not the entire special as promised on the back cover. My rating has nothing to do with Shania's performance. She always gives it her best and looks & sounds great as always. If I was to rate her performances alone, the Come On Over Special would rate high enough to displace the low rating, for undesirable guests, in her Winter Break Special. Buy this one on DVD so you can skip over the guest appearances and see Shania at HER best.
Rating: Summary: "BackDOOR" Boys?! Hello!! Review: I'd just like to make a point by saying that the reviewer who said this DVD would've been better without the BACKSTREET Boys (politically correct) and Elton John obviously doesn't know what they are talking about! The BSB and Elton John are two of the world's best musicians so...BACK OFF!! Also, Shania Twain is a great country artist. I saw the Miami "Winter Break" performance when it aired on CBS (or was it ABC?), and loved it! Shania performed "From This Moment On" with the Backstreet Boys and "Something About The Way You Look Tonight" with Elton John (one of my all time favorite Elton songs!). The Backstreet Boys sang another song by themselves called "All I Have To Give", which was a big hit for them in late 1998-early 1999. Shania also performs some of her greatest songs off her 'Come On Over' album which were "That Don't Impress Me Much", "Man! I Feel Like A Woman", and "Honey! I'm Home". Also included on this great DVD is Shania's Thanksgiving special which aired on CBS like, last Thanksgiving. She performed this live special in Dallas, Texas. I really don't remember all the songs she sang but they were all from her 'Come On Over' multi-platinum album. She also takes you behind-the-scenes with the Dallas football team (which ever one they are - I don't know a lot about sports teams!). Both specials were spectacular! I can't wait to get this DVD. The only reason why I gave this DVD 4 stars was because they could've added more to it than just the live specials. Anyway, if you are a Shania Twain fan then this DVD is for you!
Rating: Summary: Not, "In Thier Entirety" Review: I've already written a review of this for the DVD listing. I dont know if my review will also show up here, but you can always go to that listing and read my comments.
Rating: Summary: Shania 5 Stars Production Company 3 Stars Review: Let me first preface this review by simply stating the obvious, "Shania Twain is one of the best, if not the best, musical entertainer of our time". Now any negative comments I make will be directed toward the director, production crew, and the editor. The first concert, Winter Break, performed in Miami is a terrific first attempt at trying to recreate the electricity you feel at a live Shaina Twain Concert. The staging was unimaginative at best, especially if one compares the staging for her second Dallas appearance. The DVD is titled "Shania Twain Live" and is one of the finest live concert recordings in existance. Every manager, agent, tour promotor, or venue booker should be required to watch this DVD one hundred time so that they can show case their talent the way Shania is presented in that DVD. In winter break, Shania's unabassed here worship of Elton John appears, like everything else she say, directly from the heart. Their performance of "The Way You Look Tonight" will knock your socks off, but the editors have not made a cut so that if you want to, you could just play that one song over and over and then want to plays it a few more times. The second concert, "Come On Over" which was additional entertainment after a Dallas Cowboy's home game was great. Shania was as beautiful as ever with the sexist, non revealing costumes. Shania Twain is a giant talent and to waste time with camp type skits featuring several players and the Cowboy Cheer leaders just takes away time from the music industry's most spectacular star. If you want to spent an evening watch a concert venue performer grow into a superstar then not only buy the DVD, but also buy Shania Twain Live.

Rating: Summary: The Sexiest Talent in Music Review: Shania is simply beautiful, and incredibly sexy, and loves to be in front of the audience bringing smiles to everyone's faces. Her voice is great, her writing is commercially attractive and non-threatening, and her bands (now are those REALLY musicians or just models synching to tape?) are serviceable without being stellar. I dunno, I don't think I'm the ONLY one who'd admit to being satisfied watching the visuals no matter what this stunning woman sings. If I didn't like the song, I wouldn't turn it off, i'd just turn on the MUTE! Long live this hot, sexy woman. She gets it done! The Plantinum DVD is also worth a look, if nothing else than for the "Man I Feel Like a Woman" - a leg lover's dream.
Rating: Summary: We can't get enough of this DVD! Review: Shania is talented enough on her own, but when you add her band, it is excellent. My family can't get enough of this DVD. She has an excellent band. They are great to listen too, but are also entertaining to watch. There is always something to watch on stage. I especially enjoy the transition from practice to the actual concert in Dallas and when she sang with Elton John in Florida. My children enjoy the dancers. We can't wait to see her in concert when she tours again.
