Rating: Summary: The best music videos you have never seen. Review: One thing that is so great about Bjork as an artist is that she not only expresses her creativity through her music, but also through her videos. Unfortunately, MTV doesn't seem to realize this and so we are left seeing these works of art once in a blue moon on TV. The Volumen DVD brings the best of both worlds together: Bjork's music and videos. If you are a fan of Bjork but have not seen any or many of her videos, this is a must buy. The videos are seamlessly integrated with the music and truly show how talented Bjork is as an artist. Another thing that makes this DVD so great is that you get to see the early works of world renowned directors like Michel Gondry, Sophie Muller, Stephane Sednaoui, and Spike Jonze, just to name a few. This DVD is literally a piece of art. From the cover design to the music itself, it expresses the ideas and character of a woman who is out of this world.
Rating: Summary: BJORK: VOLUMEN, Review: THIS COLLECTION OF VIDEOS PROVES THAT BJORK IS ON ANOTHER LEVEL NOT ONLY WITH HER LYRICS BUT ALSO WITH HER COLORFULL AND IMAGINATIVE VIDEOS THAT MAKE THE SONGS TAKE FORM. TAKE FOR EXAMPLE "POSSIBLY MAYBE" AND "I MISS YOU". THE COMPUTER ANIMATED GRAPHICS ARE AWESOME WHEN WATCHED ON A DVD.
Rating: Summary: "A MUST HAVE" for those got to have bjork fans Review: I would call this an hour of pure enjoyment if you've never seen any of these videos but have enjoyed bjork's music throughout the years. Each filled with its own personality and crafted so creatively you'd think you were watching movie after movie.
Rating: Summary: The first Björk video collection is definitely worth getting Review: This tape featured all of Björk's videos save for Alarm Call. The track listing is: Human Behaviour, Big Time Sensuality, Violently Happy, Play Dead, Army of Me, Isobel, Joga, Bachelorette, Hunter, Possibly Maybe, and more.
Rating: Summary: Journey Through the Unknown - Unravels Like a Ball of Yarn Review: Volumen delves into the successful music career of the Icelandic pop queen, Björk. From Debut, to Post, to Homogenic, this video has it all (with the exception of "Alarm Call"). It includes the critically acclaimed "Human Behaviour", "Play Dead" and the computer generated, "Hunter"! It is a must have for crazed Björk fans!
Rating: Summary: Simply the most beautiful and imaginative thing on one video Review: It is a hard thing to pull of if you can do it. Making the best music on the planet and the finest pieces of visual art to accompany them! It is a shame that there are 3 of the videos missing ("Ooops", "Alarm Call" & "All is full of love") but what you have left is 14 other clips that are soooo good that you will be wanting to see them over and over again! My personal favourite on this collection is "Joga" as it is quite possibly the best tribute ever paid to Iceland, and contains the most amazing image of Bjork letting us all know what really goes on inside her heart! This is the best way to really understand how such a genius uses her mind, and if it weren't for the credits at the end, it would seem as if the songs were actually dreamt up and recorded while she was fighting a gorilla dentist / playing seductively with eggs / morphing in to a polar bear / dancing in a 'Ren & Stimpy' cartoon, or simply being the best! Lets all bow down infront of this cassette tape (or DVD) and hale a true, unique and unassailable genius! (The artwork to 'Volumen' is worth a praise or two as well!). Our hats go off to you, Bjork!
Rating: Summary: recommended listening by nervegas.com Review: My favorite DVD. My son (4 months) enjoys it even more. The music videos are dream-like, like a shot of novacaine in a whispering flood of evolution. Bjork's phenominal voice and presynaptic imagry pulls together child-like impressions of an adult world...ROMANCE in mind, body, and soul.
Rating: Summary: a bjork staple Review: This DVD is wonderful becuase I've been a Bjork fan for many years and more than half of the videos are new to me. This is definitely worth your money because it is rare and very creative.
