Rating: Summary: Best Music Video Collection Ever! Review: From the beginning track where Bjrok is hunted in "Human Behaviour" to the final track where Bjork has become the "Hunter" this terrific collection of music videos will have you falling in love with this boldy creative woman's desire to express the grand palette of human emotions with her singularly unique, mystical, outrageous, Icelandic perspective. "Joga" expresses the connection between earth and body/heart with striking graphic images of plate tectonics; "Venus As A Boy" shows the pixie in love, embracing her wild animal nature (lizard on shoulder) and making love to the camera with that those joyous, innocent expressions only Bjork can emote; "Isobel", "Army Of Me", "I MIss You" etc. etc.-all perfect-all highly entertaining and thought-provoking. Too bad we don't have the two that followed this release, "Alarm Call" and the award winning "All Is Full Of Love". This woman just keeps breaking new ground-what an exciting artist!
Rating: Summary: bjork visual representations Review: To tell you the truth I was apprehensive on seeing the videos. Being a long-time Bjork fan, I created my own visual images of the songs within my head. Also being alike every American that has only seen the only ONE video of Bjork's (that MTV would play on a 120 minutes, occationally) "Human Behavior" I decided to take the plunge, since I realized that Spike Jones did a significant amount of the videos on "Volumen". I was very pleasantly supprised when almost all the videos where almost as original as Bjork's music. One can tell that she had alot of say with these videos because they are so ingenious. All the rest of the Directors were just as good as Spike Jones in expressing Bjork's abstract feelings and concepts. Yet, these videos were extremly diverse compared to each other, so that one can watch them simultaniously without getting bored. The videos I especially like are: Bachlorette, Army of Me, and Possibly Maybe. The one I didn't like was a soundtrack song called "Play Dead" in which you could tell she had no creative control whatsoever because it was soooo dullll. and that's just not Bjork! Above all, I believe it is a great collection that one can take out and view to get their creative juices flowing.
Rating: Summary: Another hit from Björk Review: This is an amazing DVD, it includes almost all the greatest hits of the Iceland's most known and experimental artist ever (just before her new disk Vespertine, released in 2001). The music as well as the visual impact is great and the quality could have not been better, each one of the fourteen songs gives something new to the traditional form of making a video just to promote the new single of a new disk from the artist, and join together the art of beautiful pictures with the atmosphere that just can be achieved with the singular voice of this strange woman. In addition, Björk is so cute.

Rating: Summary: Iceland's Greatest Export Come Alive on DVD Review: Björk Gudmundsdottir, or Bjork for short, has come a long way since her days with the Sugarcubes. The Icleandic pop pixie has captured the attention of the wold's greatest young directors in helming her songs into videos sure to make one's eyes open up wide. While other videos use little imagination (can you say Ricky Martin?) and others focus on bad themes (Mariah Carey, where is thy brain?), Bjork is the queen of the most lavish, eye-catching scenarios ever caught on film. Many famed and up and coming directors have directed Bjork in some of her greatest videos. Oscar nominated director Spike Jonze ("Being John Malkovich") directed Bjork in my favorite video, "It's Oh So Quiet," which pays tribute to the big band musicals of the past. Animator John Kricfalusi (the creator of "Ren & Stimpy") also guided Bjork and several animated friends in the video "I Miss You". Bjork looks as good animated as she does in person. French director Michel Gondry (the director of the upcoming film "Human Nature"), has directed Bjork in most of her videos, most notably "Human Behaviour," "Army of Me," and "Joga." Other famous French directors including Stephane Senaoui and Jean-Baptiste Mondino also lend their artistic talents in bringing Bjork's songs to life. This is an incredible collection from an incredible woman, who just recently one the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival. If you are a fan or a person starting to discover the sensation Bjork is, then this DVD is a great way to start.
Rating: Summary: bjork is amazing! Review: Bjork rules. All her videos are incredible. This is a great collection of all of Bjork's videos (except Alarm Call and All Is Full Of Love - both exceptionally brilliant videos that i really wish were included) but whatever, the remaining videos are so original and innovative you know that Bjork has been at it again... my personal favorites were 1. "Venus as a Boy" because who else could make eggs so sensual, and the song is amazing 2. "Hyperballad" because it goes so well with that song (my favorite of Bjork's) and 3. I Miss You because the creator of Ren and Stimpy animated it (so you know you can't miss that)! Definitely recomennded for Bjork fans, or even for anybody in film school who wants to brush up on how to make an insightful, creative video. Oh I almost forgot, "It's Oh So Quiet!" amazing, just incredible! Bjork can do anything, let's elect her president...
Rating: Summary: recommended listening by nervegas.com Review: My favorite DVD. My son (4 months) enjoys it even more. The music videos are dream-like, like a shot of novacaine in a whispering flood of evolution. Bjork's phenominal voice and presynaptic imagry pulls together child-like impressions of an adult world...ROMANCE in mind, body, and soul.
Rating: Summary: I hate videos. I love this piece of work Review: My old roommate had this DVD. I watched it, then I invited friends over to watch it, then more friends, until I had no more friends to invite. It's so good--good like going to a great film, good, or like going to a great exhibit or installation, good. I own only one DVD and this is the one. I used to listen to The Sugar Cubes in highschool. I liked Bjork but never had her albums until I saw this DVD. Then I realized she was genius.
Rating: Summary: The Best DVD Music Video Collection I've Seen Review: The sound is Dolby Digital but is 2 channel stereo, NoT 5.1 (I assume these songs are as originally recorded for CD). Like most music video on DVD, this is rerecorded pre 5.1 material. I can't wait for Bjork and her director friends to catch up with the audio state-of-the-art. This is the best I have seen because 1)the visual productions are stunning and 2)even though Bjork is the screen-hogging self-obsessed star of each song-story, she's expressive and beautiful.
Rating: Summary: fun, colorful, bjork! Review: Bjork's videos are fun. They are wild and weird. She has the best clothes. This was a fun video to watch. I don't watch it that much, but there is some nice work on here. I wish it had been made later so that the "All is Full of Love" video would have gone on it, because that is my favorite bjork video. That said, I don't have a particular favorite on this comp., but they are all fun too watch because she's just so darn cute. I love the "Army of Me" video.
