Summary: Excellent!
Review: I never listened to Sheryl Crow before. I bought it for the DTS. Glad I did cause this has become my favorite concert DVD. Sheryl is extremely talented and puts on a great show. This is worth picking up.

Summary: Not the "Event" You Might Expect, but Worthwhile.
Review: I saw Sheryl Crow in concert at an East Coast venue and there is one word to describe the audience reaction: RAPTURE. This VHS tape captures the sensual performer up close & personal, but like many, many concert recordings, does not really integrate the audience with the artist. Ofcourse this is a different experience a little furthur down the road, and we're not in the heavy metal arena here anyway, but her great rendition of "My Favorite Mistake", for example, should have inspired a less mechanical camera/edit process.

Summary: Perfect for a night with the girls!!!
Review: I think Sherly has a gift of understand the plight of women
today by giving us girls a little bluesy-rock sound. Perfect
for us girls out there who reflect on the poor male gene pool
out there-sorry guys. Can't live with you, can't live without
this DVD!

Summary: God performance, disappointing audio
Review: I use Tina Turner's Live in Amsterdam as my benchmark for good DTS concert audio on DVD. Sheryl's performance was great but the audio sounded dead. Could be the mixer or the venue causing this but I'm no expert.

Summary: Good Buy, Good Sound.
Review: I very much enjoyed this DVD. I was apprehensive after reading some of the other reviews. I listened to both the DD 5.1 and the DTS audio (both of which are included on this disk) and I will admit the DD 5.1 sounded a little thin compared to the DTS. The DTS sounded excellent, however. Other reviews try and compare this to the Eagles Hell Freezes Over DVD, I don't think that is a reasonable comparison. The Eagles uses a much more aggressive 5.1 mix while this show uses a more conservative mix. The DTS sound on this disk is deep and rich and uses the front 3 channels quite well; the rear channels are used primarily for reverb effect. The DD 5.1 did sound a little thin and lacked the bass response of the DTS.

Overall, if you like Sheryl Crow you should get this disk. If you are looking for a special effects laden aggressive mix that has the guitar coming out of the rear left channel and the backing singers out of the rear right channel while the vocals whip across the front three channels this is not for you.

Summary: Adequate performance, substandard sound
Review: I wanted to add the DVD to my 5.1 surround sound collection of concerts because most of Crow's hits I liked. Although her performance is adequate enough, I didn't care for some of the less-well-known songs. Mainly, however, the sound mix is pretty bad. The stereo is weak, the Dolby Digital 5.1 is almost as bad as the stereo, with little definition. The DTS is almost adequate, but not quite. It is nowhere near as good as the James Taylor "Pull Over" DVD or the Eagles "Hell Freezes Over" DVD. It's not even as good as the marginally acceptable Nora Jones "Live in New Orleans" DVD. But if you're a Sheryl Crow fan, go ahead and add this to your collection. You might be reasonably satisfied.

Summary: Technically great, performance very good....
Review: I'm not a huge fan of Crow but have always liked her music and felt she has stood out from the wave of female singers that have flooded the airwaves of late. The DTS sounds great and the camera work and editing are very good - lots of slow pans and wide shots with just enough close ups of Ms. Crow. Along with the great pipes she does a nice job on guitar, bass, and piano. Good band - would have liked the lead guitarist to be a little stronger in the mix though - found myself struggling to hear him especially during solos. This DVD is good but nothing can top the "Sessions at West 54th, VOL 1" DVD for a feeling of being "front and center" and providing a very intimate relationship with the performers - wish they would put out more.

Summary: A Wonderful performer
Review: If anyone has seen THE GLOBE SESSIONS tour, this is a carbon copy of it. The song sellections are the same as the concerts I saw in Chicago and it is GREAT to have this available on DVD.

This is a concert from Detroit and Sheryl just simply knows how to give a great performance. Video image is top notch along with the audio quality. The version of AM I GETTING THROUGH is simply ELECTRIFYING ! A MUST have for dedicated fans of Ms Crow.

Summary: Horrible 5.1 Mix
Review: If your goal is DTS Music on a medium to high end system, you'll be disappointed with this recording. To me, a decent 5.1 mix is a deep full sound with a sound stage that puts you on site. This DTS recording is tinny and flat. I really like Sheryl Crow, but this recording mix is best left for low end stereo. After listening to two tracks, I turned it off and moved on to something more exciting. 5.1 recordings are just starting to take off, this isn't the model to follow.
