Rating: Summary: not bad Review: I am a big fan of the Doves, and was thrilled to see that they put out a DVD. The videos are quite nice, so are the extras. However the live footage was quite dissapointing. Too many camera angles almost made me dizzy. It really doesn't have the "feel" like you are in the audience. Maybe its just me, but I don't need cameras swooping in and out to enjoy the performance. It felt like an MTV video or something... however the band played wonderfully. Just be warned, this is not a very candid live set.
Rating: Summary: A wonderful overview of the band's short career Review: This arrived in the mail for me from amazon.ca on a day that I was home sick with the flu -- and it brightened my spirits significantly! From the on-screen menu onward, this DVD immerses you in a special place of the band's creating. The concert is quite good and nicely mixed in 5.1 (could've used a stronger drum mix, though), and the documentaries and videos are both excellent. Make sure to look hard for the "hidden" Sub Sub documentary -- it's aces, and one of the only ways to hear their out-of-print tunes.
