Rating: Summary: Amazing! Dave & Co. define the meaning of Heavy Metal... Review: If you're not a Megadeth fan this DVD will turn you into one. If you are, then why are you reading this? You probably already have this DVD, and if you don't then move your behind and get one, because you don't know what you're missing. The new WNAH line-up of Mustaine, Ellefson, Pitrelli & DeGrasso prove that they are indeed the best line-up Megadeth has ever had. I haven't seen (or better yet, heard) a band playing this tight since KISS in '92 (with Kulick and Singer). Awesome stuff! It's too bad Dave called it quits, but hopefully when he gets better he'll do a reunion tour. One of the reasons why I didn't give it 5 stars was because the video quality could have been better. It's a little grainy, but the audio makes up for it. 10 seconds into Dread and the Fugitive Mind and you'll be pumping your fist in the air like you were there... The other reason for 4 instead of 5 stars was because (like others have said before) five of the songs are in the "Underground Concert" part of the Special Features...they put them there like they were encores or something, when in reality they weren't. A Tout Le Monde should have been part of the 'real' concert, and not in the 'Underground' one. All this makes the tracklist in the back of the DVD pretty useless. Other than those tiny mistakes, this DVD is certainly one that every metalhead should have in his/her collection. Long Live Megadeth!
Rating: Summary: MEGADETH 4 LIFE Review: Although recentnly the band has broken up and will not be playing anymore i must say that this dvd kicks [behind]. Great camera angles, excellent playing by every memeber and a very interesting set list of songs. The dvd extras are realy cool to. If there was one thing wrong it was that they should have played more stuff from RUST IN PEACE & COUNTDOWN TO EXTINCTION. All in all very good live show .... So just buy it!!!!!! It is sad that megadeth is gone now, but we will have there albums and this DVD to remeber what METAL is all about PEACE OUT
Rating: Summary: Braindead reviewers... Review: yes, ALL the songs are on the dvd... but for some reason, 5 of the songs are in the "special features" area of the DVD...some reviewers obviously don't know how to work their DVD players. Anyways... this is a great DVD and swan song for the band. Who would have thought the band would be over about 2 months after making this DVD. The track listing is very cool with the exception of a few glaring omissions("Motopsycho", "Prince of Darkness") "Train of Consequences" should've been left out cos the song just plain stinks when played live.. the music is muddled and Dave's singing is pretty raggedy on it but other than that, this DVD is worth buying. Now... hopefully, due to the unfortunate circumstances, David Ellefson will join Metallica! Long live Megadeth. Good luck Dave.
Rating: Summary: Megashow by Megadeth here @ home.. Review: This DVD has to be the best live concert I've ever seen recorded. One, because of the well-planned angles and the Dolby 5.1 Digitally Enhanced audio, and two, because I got to experience the concert first hand. I lucked out big time because they were originally going to film the show in Argentina, but finally decided last minute that they would be filming it at home in Phoenix, Arizona. The crowd was a mere 2,000-3,000 but we had the energy of a small army when Megadeth hit the stage (and I was in the front of the pack). We all knew we had to show, not only Megadeth, but all of the Megafans what Phoenix was really made of. This show is a non-stop, continuous rush of energy that only gets better everytime you watch it. The first day I picked this up I watched it twice, and if it wasn't for school the next day I would've watched it again. Do yourself a favor and order it from online because it has been sold out everywhere, I had to drive 40 miles around town to get a copy the first day it came out. Not to mention, this is Megadeth's last show and most likely will be a collectors item for years to come. With timeless classics like A Tout Le Monde, Peace Sells, Holy Wars and even Symphony of Destruction, plus extended solos such as the 3 minute drum solo in She-Wolf. It brings me back to the days when metal was metal, and bands didn't bow to trends or sell out like they do by the dozen today. I guarantee you won't regret it because it's worth every penny.
Rating: Summary: Sorry for the wrong information... Review: In my earlier review I did mention that few of the songs are not inside the DVD. I was wrong as those songs I mentioned earlier can be found in the special feature in the chapter Underground Megadeth Concert. I am sorry Dave for writing wrong information on the DVD.
Rating: Summary: Buy 2, you may need em'! Review: Just SLAMMIN! I bought 2 cause this is so ... HOT the 1st one is bound to burn up, and if not I don't want to chance someone stealing it! I've been a fan since they started and have waited a long time for this. MegadetH is by far the best heavy guitar band ever. I play, I know. Tight...! What they do is so incredible and to see them do it live just blows me away! The venue in the DVD is very similar to Holiday Star in IN. where I saw them so it's like I'm watching the show all over. Just Killer. The set list covers so much of their best work. I have many music DVDs and NONE compare to this one! I have to go order the CD now... gotta go! P.S. We must believe...they WILL be back!
Rating: Summary: Awesome sound and feel!!!! Review: This DVD has a great sound, specially if you have surround sound such as in 5.1 Surround sound. The drums sound totally awesome, in particular the bass drum. It sounds as if the band is in your room. The guitars were miked well, since the rhythm guitar and lead guitar come up front when necessary for the sound to be complete yet still delivers a punch. The sound I have to say is totally amazing and that may have to do with the speakers I have set up for the surround sound. But if ever I recommend investing in speakers to have surround sound, this is the time. In addition, the camera angles are also different than most concert footage. There is one angle that is shot from above Dave Mustaine at a 45 degree angle. This is not too common an angle seen on most concert footage and you really appreciate it here. Definitely get this DVD and invest in speakers if you don't have 5.1 surround sound and enjoy.
Rating: Summary: Buy this DVD! Now! Review: This is a fantastic DVD. It captures Megadeth's best songs in concert. It is intense, angry, and sounds great. The special features are cool too. Interviews, documentaries, and additional concert footage are all included. 'Rude Awakening' is the the final statement from the last bastions of real heavy metal. If you don't know what real metal should be like, this is it.
Rating: Summary: Flawed, but Worth it! Review: Here is the flaw: There are 24 songs listed on the box, but Dave and the boys only play 19. But who cares, THIS IS MEGADETH LIVE! I got to see Megadeth on this very same tour, and the did an excellent job of capturing the intensity and thrill of a live Megadeth show. The solos are almost perfect; it is too bad that Dave Mustaine has recently lost this talent due to nerve damage, which caused Megadeth's breakup. I was happy and surprised to find that Megadeth played songs such as "Mechanix" and "Devil's Island", which they didn't play at the show I went to. If you are a Megadeth fan in any way, buy this video. It is the best part of my Megadeth collection!
Rating: Summary: Megadeth Rude Awakening DVD-Megadisappointment Review: ok, so i rushed out to buy Megadeths first ever live DVD and guess what...it is full of errors. the track listing on the back of the DVD case is completely wrong. some songs listed (example: tornado of souls) is not even in the DVD. the songs that ARE listed on the DVD box, are not in the order they say they are. i contacted the megadeth.com's webmaster and he/she had this to say: "Not sure what to say, it is what it is and I doubt any corrected versions will go out." other than being disappointed by some songs not appearing in the DVD as listed, it is a fun disk. the interviews are cool (except for mustaine ripping on menza and friedman a lot) and the small venue setting made it fun to watch. if you can look past the track listing errors on the DVD cover as well as in the actual DVD, then i would suggest getting this. it is extremely sad that these errors were not found and corrected before release, especially since the band has recently broken up.
