Rating: Summary: Can not wait!!! Review: It's Rush...What else is there to say. I hope one of many DVD's to come!! It will not come out of my DVD player (until a new one arrives:)
Rating: Summary: Many a moons have passed.......... Review: I wait in anticipation for this one. As a fan of many years, I must admit that this is too little too late, for the award. I give it a 10 out of a possible 5 star rating. ANY Rush fan knows what should become of this. I just wait for more DVDs from them in the near future.
Rating: Summary: Finally - Chronicles on DVD Review: Rush fans everywhere have been waiting a while for the band to begin the movement into the DVD scene. It had been talked about for the last couple of years now and we finally have the first in hopefully many DVD releases from the trio. Now they need to release Exit Stage Left and Different Stages on DVD. This is a great start though. We even get a bonus video to go along with the already classic set spanning from the 70s to the late 80s. This is also a great way for someone to be introduced to the band for the first time. Hearing them is one thing, but seeing them perform, especially on the concert shots, shows how talented Rush really is. My DVD player awaits!!!! Buy it and play it loud!!!!
Rating: Summary: Buy it no matter what Review: I have the VHS, not the DVD (of course, it has not been released). But Rush is a classic band, and every fan deserves a video on a high quality and almost permanent format. I recommend this video to all fans, but also to Jazz listeners that want to start their Rock collection. Of course, I recommend it all progressive rock listeners, and most of all, to all those people that like the combination of genius words put on very artistic music. Chronicles is excellent due to its veriety, you will never be tired of watching it. From the legendary performances of Tom Sawyer in the original tour, to the beautiful studio version of Time Stand Still. I hope that they include some new material in the DVD, but if not I will buy it anyway. One last thing, I hope Rush to make a live DVD, A show of hands or a new one.
Rating: Summary: worth buying Review: Always loved this band.. Power Trio from Toronto..Listened to the CD so many times (including the trip to Toronto from Seattle to see them live)...Just waiting for this & Pink Floyd's "Pulse" to be released on DVD !! KUDOS to all of the classic bands ("House of YES" included) that continue to keep my faith in Classic Rock alive. People either love or hate this band.. If You Like RUSH you'll Love this video, it's a stand-up act, a must have for any RUSH fan. Geddy, Alex & Neil all shine through in this incredible concert !
Rating: Summary: It is just great to have this on tape..... Review: I have never bought a Rush product for the "style". They just make great music and put on an excellent concert. I liked seeing them in their Farewell to Kings garb. Cheesy? Well....yea but I still like it. Remember some of the clothes back then? If you don't it was just as bad if not worse. I really liked Subdivisions and Limelight and several others. This gets only 4 stars for Distant early warning. That was and still is one of the worst videos ever produced. Other than that it was good to see these videos again. Oh yea, it is not nearly long enough. We need about 5 or 6 more tunes and some interviews.Rush still remains as one of the best musical groups to ever hit the invisible airwaves.
Rating: Summary: It's about the music. Review: Chronicles is about the music. It's not some hype, as most videos are and have been for some time, to distract you from the fact that most bands have little musical talent. And, if it were'nt for E, A, and B would'nt have a carrer. The attraction of this Video is the songs. Someone commented that the video for Closer to the heart is Cheesy. Consider when it was released and go back and view other videos from the time. It is simply three great musicians performing a great song. Rush Videos do not need fast cuts that cause motion sickness and Beautiful babes to sell there music. Rush songs sell themselves. You need to get out and see the band for yourself to truly apreciate there greatness. But if you can't, which seems likely since i hear they may not be touring again,Chronicles is a good taste. If you can find it Exit Stage Left is even better........
Rating: Summary: great video, but some missing stuff Review: This video shows some of their videos between 1978 and 1987, which is all good, but there are videos that were made in that time period that didn't make it on the video, like Vital Signs, Countdown, The Enemy Within, and The Body Electric. Sure, they were already on "Through The Camera Eye", but that video is impossible to find, and you could get "Chronicles" just about anywhere. My other complaint is the live tracks. These live tracks are already on all of Rush's other live video releases. Instead of "Red Barchetta", why couldn't they put something that was played on that tour but was left off "Exit Stage Left", like "Natural Science"? Instead of "Red Sector A", why couldn't there be a live song that was left off the "Grace Under Pressure" video, like "The Body Electric", "Red Lenses", or "Afterimage"? What about a live track or two that was left off "A Show Of Hands", like the live version of "Time Stand Still" or "Lock And Key"? Actually, in my opinion, Rush should re-release "Exit..", "Grace...", and "A Show of Hands", except this time, have the entire 2 hour shows on each.
Rating: Summary: Not for the non-fanatical Rush fan Review: For the serious Rush fan---you can't lose, it's Rush, what can I sa
Rating: Summary: An incomplete collection without it... Review: Definitely not the greatest RUSH available, it is nice to see the band perform (even if some are cheesy music videos). Other songs aren't so bad- while this is not a video for everyone, it is a must have for any serious RUSH fan. Now if I could just find Exit Stage Left...
