Summary: Great
Review: Rush is the best rock band in the world. Seeing them live and meeting Geddy and Alex was a great experience. They really are
the greatest guys. The DVD is really good. Kim :)

Summary: We want MORE!!!!!
Review: This is a great addition to th RUSH collection. But there are, alot of videos which could have, filled the extra space. The, quality is good but the VHS is, just as good. All in all they could have released the live DVD of the Test for Echo tour which they did record but I guess Atlantic is waiting. That is what we want. A new live DVD we deserve it well we would buy it.

Summary: Disappointing...
Review: This DVD is disappointing because the quality is not great. (My VHS copy looks just as good.) Also, it seems that not much care was given to the menu design. The overall feel is that the label is just trying to cash in on what already exists in their archives. Some restoration/remastering is definitely in order here.

Summary: Chronicles for Rush hungry fans
Review: I enjoyed this DVD, because I'm so Rush hungry. 'Seen 'em 4 times this tour already and had to have an in-between fix. I agree with the person who said maybe there should be some interviews to personalize it a little more. But there's something about Chronicles-- it was omitted from the Vapor Trails Tour Book so maybe there's something production wise that doesn't mesh with the band...thanks to them for endlessly rocking!

Summary: Great, but missing some songs
Review: It's nice to see some old Rush videos since MTV hasn't played them since 1987. At least that's the last time I saw them on MTV. This dvd has all the songs from the Chronicles video, plus 2 bonus songs which are "The Enemy Within" and "Afterimage". There are still a few videos missing, like "Vital Signs" and "The Body Electric". And what about all the videos that were made after the Hold Your Fire album? It's a decent Rush dvd, but it's missing a lot. They should have released some live concerts on dvd first. That's what most Rush fans want.

Summary: This DVD is for diehard fans only
Review: I'm a huge fan but was very disappointed in this DVD. I got the distinct impression that it was thrown together at very little cost and effort.

Even some of the editing was disappointing. Just when we would get to some really interesting guitar or drum work the scene would jump away. I think I'd rather be seeing the unedited film shot in the studio then the hacked up version.

If you're playing all the songs you get a cheesey looking title to each song before starting.

One saving grace is that the chapter select menus are very good. Each song has an image and sample music. The first song on each page plays a riff while you choose.

I never looked but if they indeed hide a couple of the songs, this is ridiculous. We are not kids playing video games looking for a cheat. Most of us are 30's-40's year olds just wanting to see a great band. I'll be looking for these hidden tracks later.

Next time a DVD is made..... Take a recent concert. Show the three of them playing and when appropriate jump to a close up(eg. close up on Neil for YYZ). This is what I'd like to see.

Summary: I'm A Huge Fan, But This DVD Is Weak
Review: I don't want to complain too much since I love Rush, but I think more work should have been put into this disc. The video is really not much different than my VHS copy and the audio is also a mixed bag. What I can't understand is why they made 2 videos be hidden..... what purpose does this serve? This disc isn't even complete, as the videos for Countdown, The Body Electric, and Vital Signs are nowhere to be found (still have to rely on my Through The Camera Eye video for those). Then to top it off, there's no extras whatsoever. I received this disc as a gift, but I can just as well watch my VHS copy and be just as happy. If there's one Rush video that needs DVD treatment, it's Exit...Stage Left. There was a Japanese DVD for it and it supposedly had an amazing sound mix as if you were there in the concert hall. Why can't we get that on DVD? Rush should be experienced live anyway, and this would be a perfect opportunity to make it a special edition.

Summary: Fair song selection... fair video quality, but....
Review: it's a must have for any RUSH lover!
I'm a long time RUSH fan, since the late seventies I think. So I can tell you this DVD is far brom being a real Chronicle. It lacks examples of the early -Zeppelin like- era of this fantastic power trio. It starts with the old loving ¨Closer To The Heart¨ , and you quickly notice the releasers omitted such gems like ¨By-Tor¨ or ¨Something For Nothing¨ from earlier albums. Okey, anyone can say perhaps there were no video footage of those tracks, but everybody knows Rush continued playing them live till late eighties or so. Moreover, any Rush lover would surely miss some tracks like ¨Manhattan Project¨ or ¨Witch Hunt¨. From the technical point of view, the two first clips have very noticeable video ringing (that sort of tiny ¨echoed¨ images viewable alongside straight lines), much probably from the original live TV footage. But as songs pass, -and consequently video technology advanced- you can notice the better quality and the growth of video effects added. Sound quality is good from start to end. This clearly denotes there's no live sound from ¨The Trees¨ for instance, which shows, like several clips, many concert images.
Nice surprise, it has two bonus tracks not included in the menu, so you can't go to them directly.
Anyway, this is a good DVD for power rock fans and a must for Rush lovers.

Summary: Nice, but disappointing as a DVD.
Review: I've been a Rush fan for more than twenty years now (already!?), and this collection of videos proves one thing: Rush makes great music. None of the videos are really that good. The music is great, of course.

...My main beef is the quality of the sound. The Trees is basically mono, playing only in the center channel. The two 'hidden' videos have about a 1/2 second of poor sound quality before kicking in. The two extra songs' fadeouts are also clipped. The presentation is basic - there are virtually NO extras on this disc - not even a paper insert with brief bios of the band! Even a flyer listing their discography, song authors (yeah, we know that already) and song lyrics would have sufficed. Sure, the audience buying this disc already can recite the lyrics in their sleep and name which track on which album (and which side of the vinyl!) each song can be found, but it smacks of cheap production values. That bugs me.

The main plus is that unlike the old VHS tapes, this won't wear out or degrade over time. Because I like Rush's music so much, and because the videos won't wear out, it gets three stars. As far as a DVD goes, it's really not worth it unless you're a bigtime fan. ...

Summary: Missing a few COOL videos...but still good!
Review: I think this DVD should have included these following songs, as well...'Vital Signs', 'Countdown', and 'Fly By Night'. I'm done.
