Summary: Guns, God and Government World tour was a dissapointment
Review: I got this Video for Xmas and i must say was highly dissapointed.
During all of the songs the footage skips back and forth from place to place, leaving you somewhat confused. Manson, however does have a terrific live voice, and carries out his reputation brilliantly... Though it is a laugh, so i would recommend.

Summary: Excellent show!
Review: The god of lyrics is back! With his unique, strange way, M.M. gives us a great show of rock music! It is not only the show, the songs that make it great but also the 30-minute documentary that shows what it is like to be backstage at such a concert! Since we learn more about Marilyn Manson in general I would suggest it not only to M.M. fans but also others! A great DVD that when combined with surround gives you the impression that you are in the concert! Great!

Summary: Arch Dandy at his finest
Review: Not AATCHB (Nine Inch Nails: Live) intense, but it is a different band of a different style. This DVD I think delivers just what it is supposed to and that is Marilyn at his best. He is a shaman of sorts to open our comatose eyes to reality. He puts on a rockin show. Being in 5.1 surround the sound quality is awesome and the picture is very clear. The concert captures all the best parts of each song performed with clear and smooth transitions, for the most part. I love the effects of his show and the feelings he brings out. At one point, he comes out on a black covered platform, I presume, and looks larger then life. On the "Nobodies", he performs in painter's stilts to highten his vision that he wants to share with you, a little part of his world. The 30 minute documentary, "The Death Parade", was enjoyable but I guess I was expecting a whole lot more. Personally I got a better view of the person and his life on the road on his "God is in the TV" video. But the poet put this together himself and showed us what he wanted. This DVD is trully a great accomplishment for Marilyn, a artist who never stops to amaze.

Summary: Despite what others may say....
Review: -Many of these reviews have been writing prior to the release of this DVD, so their basis is off of guessing and expectations. Since the release of this DVD I've watched it beginning to end 3 times and looked it at all possible angles. From every perspective - entertainment, quality, material covered that was actually at the concert, replay value, etc.
-As far as entertaining, if you're a Manson fan and have never been to one of his concerts, this is an perfect look and near concert experience from the Guns, God, and Government tour. During which Manson experimented with new stage acts including the "holy garments" worn of clergy, different lighting and pyrotechnics which added great effects and new excitement to some of the older songs, and a platform that lifted him to the top of the stage.
-The sound quality of this is superior to any other DVD I've heard or seen. The image is crystal clear and the sound is beyond great. If you have a home theater surround system, this is going to utilize it perfectly.
-My only complaint was of the concerts that were shown on the DVD. All the songs on the concert are great. However most of the footage was shot at the Los Angeles shows. I was at the Tokyo show about 3 months later and very little of the footage from that show was on the DVD. So basically its just a personal complaint, something I was hoping to see more of and nothing that really takes away from the DVD.
-Lastly, the DVD is shot in succession. The first hour and 20 minutes or so are songs played one right after another just as it would be at the concert itself. Rather than playing clips of a song, cutting to backstage scenes and clips then going on to another song or something of that nature, the concert is played in its entirety. Then there is a nice little 30 minute short film called "The Death Parade" that has all of Marilyn Manson's little endeavers on it, from backstage shots, to christians protesting the concerts on the streets, to Manson himself whiping chicks and throwing bottles at people. Its all great footage.
-Final words: There is no good argument that anyone can come up with that would be correct when trying to put this DVD down. Manson and his crew have done an outstanding job on the quality of this DVD. Audio and video are sharp, and crystal clear. Lots of great songs including Disposable Teens, Anti-Christ Superstar, Beautiful People, Lunchbox, Great Big White World. Anyone who puts this down is either not a real big fan of Marilyn Manson or is just smoking crack.

Summary: the third and final beast?
Review: i waited for months for the release of this dvd anticipating a forward development in the art of that which is manson. instead i watched a technically superior rerun of things past. i personally loved DEAD TO THE WORLD and feel that it should be transferred to dvd but thought that GGG would be a step forward. it is not. i can only hope that THE GOLDEN AGE OF GROTESQUE yields something worth my while. if this is your first exposure to manson i think you will enjoy it. if not, i await your reviews.

Summary: The Mansons at their best.
Review: This is the first time that Manson has done an official DVD and it rocks. It shows what it was actually like at the real concert. There are a few differences in performances. Ex: The intro had him come out in a carrage (only done for 1 show, not the whole tour) and "The Love Song" has him dressed like an abbot (which he actually wore that oufit during "Valentine's Day" at most shows) instead of him standing on a large podium probably because it was too similar to "Antichrist Superstar." The DVD's intent was to bring out the best of Guns, God, and Government, and it does just that. Before I couldn't wait for Manson to go on tour again, and the DVD just made me even more impatient. The DVD Rocks!

Summary: Intense, but not AATCHB intense...
Review: This dvd is rather good, and instead of showing one straight show, they'll show the same song being proformed at different concerts. Idea sound familiar? It should if you've seen the Nine Inch Nails live DVD "And All That Could Have Been." The difference is that NIN did it right, smooth transistions and even people who don't like Nails can enjoy the concert experiance.

This DVD however is choppy almost to the point of it being unwatchable. I understand the reason for showing 55 angles every 2 minutes, but then give us a brief rest! In that respect, the NIN DVD is superior.

Ignoring the angles/views (which can be done with our good friend alcohol), the proformance portions are absolutlely astounding. What a stage presence, what a voice, and what a bassist. From the "Irresponsible Hate Anthem" to "Lunchbox," the crowd is really into it and the music is great. "The Death March," the quasi-documentary on this disk, is absolutely hilarious.

Overall good, not great. I liked it better when it was called "And All That Could Have Been."

Summary: It's here!!!
Review: Gund God and Government is available.......I picked it up this weekend..Pretty interesting start menu, but not as technologically advanced as I had expected..Audio and video are excellent. Theres a half hour documentary in this DVD that includes Eminem, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, a viscious knee injury by Manson, some weird transvestites, etc.....standard Manson stuff. The concert footage itself is great, with clips taken from many different shows around the world. Each song is made up of several clips, but because of the great editing, it's seamless. The whole thing is great!! Far better than any other MM video to date. If you are a MM fan, get out and buy this TODAY!!

Summary: MANSON is the BEST ARTIST
Review: for those that heard or read that it was film all at one concert well its not
that was the original idea but Rev.Manson had a dispute with
the label that did the recording or something so he the project of them and went to a independant label and did it himself and put parts of different concerts in etc read the bands website if in disbelief also the start menu is suppose to be state of the art like the whole dvd and suppose to set a new standard for over bands to try and follow i just can't wait till his next album that will be mint
