Summary: A new generation of a Big Band .
Review: A Brian Setzer and his orchestra is a new generation of a Big Bands. Don't expect Harry James and when viewing it hold your hat, because it is very " live ", but it sound good . I would congratulate Brian for doing an excellent job in carry the tradion of the Big Bands. IT IS a BIG BAND !

Summary: The happiest big band in the world!
Review: After seeing the Brian Setzer Orchestra in person, I was truly disappointed at the CD's I've heard of his music. But this DVD is in a class by itself. The concert is basically presented as it happened with only one or two edits. The audio mix is stupendous with one exception-- the drummer's bass drum is very boomy and I had to tone down my subwoofer and low frequencies significantly. Still, it was a small flaw in an otherwise excellent musical gift.

Summary: Cannot be satisfied than ever
Review: All I had known about this artist was 'Jump Jive', one of his songs. I didn't remember what made me get myself this DVD. Whatever it was, lucky me!!!
My doubt has turned into 100% satisfaction. This DVD's got exactly what's all about real live performance. I'd better be at another live of Brian Setzer Orchestra next time his band is around me.

Summary: A BIG BAND BLAST FOR YOUR EYES & EARS!
Review: Before seeing this concert, I wasn't a Brian Setzer fan. In fact, I wouldn't have bothered buying this if I hadn't seen and heard my brother's copy first. But that's all it took. I had to have my own copy and ordered it immediately!
The band is amazing!
Band members are really having fun playing this concert! They actually look like they WANT to be there!
Every sound is tight!
Everyone is constantly moving! The brass are swinging side-to-side as they crank out one big sound after another!
Sax players come down out of the band and strut the stage!
The audience is jumping to the beat!
If you've got a DTS decoder you're going to love this!
It's just plain FUN!
You'll be "jumping and jiving" right there at home when you see and hear this!
This has turned out to be one of the most played DVDs in my collection. It just makes me feel good every time I play it!
If the thought of listening to the big band sound, played by a band that is having a great time performing, sounds good to you, don't hesitate. Grab yourself a copy of this concert for your library now. You won't be disappointed.

Summary: Slower Setzer
Review: Brian Setzer, former Stray Cats frontman, and current big-band revivalist showcases his orchestra for his much-loved Japanese audience. While Setzer and his troupe sound well instrumentally, time has obviously not been kind to Mr. Setzer vocally or physically. He is visably heavier than we remember him at the time Jump, Jive and Wail was a regular feature in the Top 40, and has grown caricature like sidburns that put Elvis to shame. He is also developing jowls a-la Richard Nixon. Additionally, Setzer has obviously been on tour for a while before this performance was taped and his vocals pay the price. Final analysis, Setzer is still fun to listen to overall, but not fun to watch. His performance is nothing visually gripping and his full sleeve tattoos are beginning to sag. If you have to have a Live BSO product, pick-up the import only cd companion to this dvd.

Summary: Oooh Walla Walla Hey!
Review: Dang, this thing freakin' rocks. I got this on Saturday and I watched it straight through twice within 24 hours of buying it... Basically the guitar and Brian's vocals are up higher than everything else but you can hear the whole band clearly and everyone sounds great.

The picture is nice and sharp with puh-lenty of great camera angles (I counted 13 camera people in the credits!) and captures the energy without feeling choppy and all MTVish.

My only beef is that they didn't include "Rumble in Brighton" but they do tease us with a 5 second clip of it in the extra documentary thingie. C'mon man, put some bonus tracks in the extras.

Get this friggin' DVD - it's the next best thing to being there live!!!

Summary: Rockabilly rules
Review: Fabulous DVD with excellent sound quality. If you are a fan of BSO, you've got to pick up a copy of this. Brian's guitar playing is amazing and his voice outstanding. The disc provides a nice mix of old Cats tunes with some new BSO material. Nothing beats "I won't stand in your way."

Summary: Brian at his Best
Review: First of all I have to say that I've been a Brian Setzer fan since he first appeared with the Stray Cats On "Fridays". I think that was 1981 or so. I think he is certainly the best guitarist in the world at what he does.
This DVD captures the spirit of his act very well. It's just plain old fun. I don't think the camera work is the greatest, but I don't have any issues with the sound mix at all. If you have a good system, it'll sound great. A couple of multi camera options allow you to see his finger work during a couple of the instrumentals. It's truly phenomenal.
The band does a great job of swinging along with Brian on this one. They along with everyone in the crowd seem to having a great time at the concert, which makes it more enjoyable to watch at home. They even do a couple of Stray Cats numbers to great effect.
Great band, great sound, great performance. If you like Brian Setzer, you'll love this disk. I don't think there's any doubt about that. A must have for fans, casual or die hard.

Summary: Horrid Mix!
Review: I don't know what the other two reviewers heard or saw in this DVD but as far as I'm concerned it's not worth the money. The video is film, and not top quality film at that. Not tape. The sound is mixed in such a way that at times you can hardly hear the orchestra or Brians background singers.

If you love good sound and video, and have seen this orchestra preform in person as I have, you wonder how such great sound and video can be lost in a DVD transfer. The answer is in the end credits. The ENTIRE production was done in Japan. Sound, Film, Director, Entire production staff, Remote Facilities, Lighting, Everything.

When the DVD was over I came away feeling like I had just seen a Godzilla movie and I didn't know why until I saw the end credits. And I get a kick out of Godzilla movies. I just don't want a concert to sound or look like one.

Nuff said. Don't waist your money on this one. HOWEVER If the Brian Setzer Orchestra comes to your town, GO!
