Rating: Summary: Hot new pop group goes to town! Review: I had an enjoyable time watching and listening to The Corrs in concert. I was first attracted to the group from listening to the Quest for Camelot soundtrack, which featured Andrea Corr as the singing voice of Kayley. Her style of innocence with emotion caught my attention. The DVD is a great way to get the feel of the concert without actually being there. The 5.1 channel definition is great. The DVD concert features all the songs from the first 2 CDs...one right after another with little break in between songs...just enough to introduce the title of the song! The Corrs are a talented group of family musicians/singers...It has been a while since I have remembered a similar group.Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: An outstanding performance! Review: I had seen this performace of the Corrs on VCD, and was thrilled when it appeared on DVD. This is an exceptional band, and Mick Fleetwood is on the mark when he notes at the end of the concert, that the Corrs play with passion. If you're a Corrs fan, I highly recommend this concert--it contains 17 songs from their first two albums, "Forgiven, Not Forgotten", and "Talking on Corners". Everyone is in fine form, and if the camera tends to linger on Andrea, that's understandable, as she has a very strong stage presence and she is in fine voice for this concert. But all of the Corrs family is talented, their material is consistently first-rate, and they clearly love what their doing. Mick Fleetwood's appearance is a nice bonus, and he seems to be having a great time too. The DVD doesn't have much in the way of extras. However, the picture is super, the sound is excellent (although very much lacking in Dolby 5.1 aspects--would have been enhanced greatly if mixed by the folks who did the Eagles concert or Roy Orbison's "Black and White Night"), and the whole experience is one any Corrs fan or music lover should enjoy.
Rating: Summary: BEST MONEY BUCKS I'VE SPENT LATELY Review: I have been very, very pleased with my recent purchase of "The Corrs - Live at the Royal Albert Hall" DVD. This DVD is a must-see for any Corrs fan. The sound quality is excellent and the picture quality is even better. Any listener will instantly fall in love with the distinctive sounds of this great band from Ireland. This DVD contains all of the mainstays of the first (2) Corrs albums including: Runaway Only When I Sleep I Never Loved You Anyway What Can I Do? Queen of Hollywood Dreams (with Mick Fleetwood) Hopelessly Addicted Toss the Feathers (instr) Joy of Life (instr) Haste to the Wedding (instr) This is a great live performance DVD which was originally performed in England on St. Patrick's Day 1998. There are many closeups of all of the band members, especially Andrea - and one can see why. She is flat out gorgeous! The picture quality is excellent and does not have the hazy appearance of some live performances (such as the recent Corrs pay-per-view special from Lansdowne Road). I would highly recommend this DVD to any Corrs fan - especially those in the U.S. where you don't see much on the Corrs. And to anyone who hasn't heard (or seen) the Corrs - I can only say - get this DVD and you'll be hooked! Go Corrs! Go Andrea!!!!!
Rating: Summary: I'm hooked! Review: I have to admit, I put off watching this DVD for two months. A friend got it for me for Christmas, and I remember thinking "WHO?" I finally watched it out of boredom one day, and I wish I hadn't waited. This is some really refreshing Irish music that isn't full of anger and angst like The Cranberries (who I really like anyway, I admit.) It's a mix of pop and Irish for those who like the Celtic flair but don't want to sit and listen to hour after hour of the Irish whistle. My favorite part is definitely in Haste to the Wedding: Caroline Corr does this nifty thing of the Bodhran that would definitely make Phil Collins sit up and listen. The concert was extremely enjoyable and this is one that definitely won't spend much time in its case.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic! Review: I just recently got into The Corrs from their In Blue album. After the first listen, I was hooked. Since this concert was filmed before In Blue, I wasn't sure if I'd like any of the songs. Well, they didn't let me down! This concert is addicting to watch. The music is fantastic. The stage and concert hall are beautiful. The flow of the show is perfect. I had some friends over this weekend who hadn't heard of The Corrs. I put the DVD in to see their reaction... they were glued to the screen with words of "Turn it up!" and "Wow, that's beautiful".
If you are a fan, this is a must have. If you haven't heard of The Corrs, then you are missing out.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Band and a great performance Review: I recently saw a performance of The Corrs on a televison special and was astonished with the music and the performance with this band. One day I decided to buy their DVD and watch their entire concert. I was amazed at the talent that these siblings posess. I was even more amazed of how good looking the sisters were. Especially the lead singer, Andrea Corrs. She is breathtakingly beautiful with a voice from heaven. She completely captivated me with her adorable looks and onstage personality. They all sounded incredibly wonderful, live . I only wish that they were profiled more here in the States and were doing some concerts here. I'm waiting on another DVD from The Corrs to be arriving soon and I know that I won't be dissapointed. They have a special talent that true artists are born with and it is quite palpable when they walk on stage.
Rating: Summary: Unbelievable transfer to DVD Review: I saw the Corrs on Saturday Night Live and this Royal Albert Hall concert somewhere on my satellite dish. When the DVD came out, I broke my neck trying to buy it! When I played it on my Dolby Theater system, the sound and picture were unbelievable! The sound on the DVD is so clear, you can actually hear Andrea, the lead singer, breathing in and out while she plays the flute! The crystal clear sound also shows exactly how important Sharon's violin is to the Corr's sound! I highly recommend this DVD! Beauty, massive talent, and maturity (they all look a lot younger than they really are --- Andrea is the youngest at 28, and Jim is the oldest at 38!) I cant say enough about this group! Buy this one before you buy anything else of their's!
Rating: Summary: Great Music & a great buy Review: I usually don't go for dvds or videos of music groups, but this preformance was really spectacular. The music is incredible -- a neat blend of irsh/celtic and modern pop sound. The women in the group are gorgeous! This performance took place in a beautifully lit concert hall and is just great to watch. Andrea Corrs' sining was flawless in this performance. Also, unlike many (most) groups, the Corrs don't sound bad in concert, in fact they sound even better in concert than in the studio. A must buy!
Rating: Summary: Attractive & Talented, don't you just hate people like that? Review: I'm a big fan of the Corrs, so obviously my opinion is going to be slanted their way quite a bit. This DVD is proof that the Corrs are just as good live on stage as they are in the studio. I just wish they'd hurry up and make a DVD of their "Unplugged" appearance.
