Rating: Summary: NO 1 !! Review: A spectacular DVD for a spectacular band. Queen will rock forever !!!
Rating: Summary: WARNING: DO NOT CONFUSE WITH THE BRAZILIAN DVD BOOTLEG Review: Check some of the 1 star reviews for this DVD. It's not because it is bad, but because these people bought the wrong DVD.People please pay attention... The Official 'Queen Live at Wembley DVD' includes 2 Discs and shows Freddie on the cover kind of kneeling on one foot. The Brazilian bootleg has only one disc, it doesn't include the complete show and it has very poor audio and video quality. It's a pirate version and it shouldn't be sold in stores. Please be careful when you buy it.
Rating: Summary: You will love the extras Review: This is a wonderful DVD. I've got Wembley on VHS, and this DVD blows that out of the water. The DVD features hours of extra features. A good chunk of the previous night's show is available, plus some previously unseen rehearsal footage. You can also watch part of the show with the camera only on one member of the band (Freddie Cam, Roger Cam, Brian Cam and John Cam). There are also some recent interviews with Roger Taylor and Brian May. Fascinating stuff. So, this DVD isn't just a repackaging of an old product. I loved it and I highly recommend it.

The amazon.com information of the DVD is very poor so here it is the amazon.co.uk information On the DVD: Queen Live at Wembley Stadium is a superb memento of this memorable night. Disc 1 contains the entire Saturday gig (almost two hours) remastered in vivid DTS 5.1 or PCM Stereo. The second disc collects both contemporary and brand-new material, including new interviews with Brian May and Roger Taylor. "A Beautiful Day" is a good documentary made at the time. More exciting is the wealth of unseen footage, both from the Friday night show and the band in rehearsal. There are "Queen Cam" views of each band member, and a photo gallery. Most poignant is a time-lapse short, "Wembley Towers", showing the philistine destruction of these national monuments. It's a fitting epitaph for this great live band DVD Description Track Listing: One Vision Tie Your Mother Down In the Lap of the Gods Seven Seas of Rhye Tear it Up A Kind of Magic Under Pressure Another Ones Bites the Dust Who Wants to Live Forever I Want to Break Free Impromptu Brighton Rock Solo Now I'm Here Love of My Life Is This the World We Created (You're So Square) Baby I Don't Care Hello Mary Lou Tutti Frutti Gimme Some Lovin' Bohemian Rhapsody Hammer to Fall Crazy Little Thing Called Love/8 Big Spender Radio Ga Ga We Will Rock You Friends Will Be Friends We are the Champions God Save the Queen IN THE SECOND DVD the best is the Multi-camara angle GREAT So good times ahead will wait for you if you buy this DVD MUSIC MAKES OUR DREAMS BETTER AND BIGGER, so keep listenig good music and be happy, till next time. Rating: Summary: A must for any Queen fan and a great reference DVD. Review: Here is some advice for any Band, Group, Singer, or Performer thinking about putting together a concert DVD. Watch "Queen: Live At Wembley Stadium" first as a reference DVD! Probably the best covered concert I have ever viewed and considering the date of the concert, 1986, the video and sound are as good as anything produced today. The quality is apparent when viewing the bonus material. The interviews with Gavin Taylor (Director) and Gerry Sickells (Tour Manager) shows the foresight in camera, sound, and stage development; no less than 16 cameras were used (I'm told your average concert uses 9 cameras). You almost feel they knew this would one day be put on DVD, which didn't even exist then. The Bonus material is rich as well. There are multi angle shots for several of the sets, including "Under Pressure". Behind-the-scene material, rehearsal sets, interviews with Brian May and Roger Taylor, and a backstage documentary. My system does not support DTS. However, watching it with my Dolby/THX certified system the sound was crisp, clean, and well balanced. I can just imagine how well DTS would sound. John's bass sounds just as good as Brian's acoustic solos and Freddie's voice is as good as ever with clean backup performances by Roger. I felt as if I was at the concert itself. With the crowd cheering and ambient sounds in my surround speakers and the explosive music and vocals coming from all around, I got Goosebumps! The concert itself is Queen at their best. They perform 28 songs and cover their career up to that point. With classics like "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Hammer to Fall", and "Radio Ga Ga" they also include music from their roots like "Tie your mother down", "Seven Seas Of Rhye" and great renditions of "Big Spender" and "Tutti Frutti". The energy of the band never falters either. They have the same energy from the opening with "One Vision" to their finale "God Save the Queen". Do I have anything negative to add? Yes. Queen did not perform more of my favorites like "Somebody to Love", "Spread Your Wings", "Fat Bottomed Girls", or "Don't Stop Me Now". But hey, They're not machines. Get this DVD!
Rating: Summary: The entire show, finally Review: Queen performed two sold out shows at London's Wembley Stadium in the summer of 1986 on what was to be their final tour. For the first time ever on home video, "Live at Wembley Stadium" (formerly known as "Live at Wembley '86") shows the concert in full. Perhaps the finest stadium rock band the world has ever seen, Queen ran through many of their hits and little known gems to an enthusiastic crowd. The band knew what it took to successfully play major stadiums and give every fan their money's worth. Freddie's up and down the scales duet with the audience, Roger's rollicking drumming, etc, the band was essentially the best there was at the time. It was interesting to see the performances that were edited out of the VHS release, namely the oldies medley. Seeing Freddie running around in a freshly stolen policeman's hat was a sight. Queen had something many rock bands today sorely lack, the ability to have fun. "Live at Wembley Stadium" is presented in 1.33:1 full frame, which is something of a surprise considering the band decided to matt their previous DVD's to widescreen even though that wasn't their OAR (Original Aspect Ratio.) I'm pleased they're releasing the concert as how it was intended to be seen. Picture quality is, for the most part, quite good, and this is likely the best it has ever looked. There is some pixelation to be found however (certainly noticeable during shots of Roger) but colors are vibrant (Freddie's yellow jacket almost bounces off your screen) and for a 10+ years old concert shot on videotape, the image looks fairly sharp. Outside of Pioneer's "We Will Rock You", "Live at Wembley Stadium" is the best looking Queen DVD on the market. On the audio side, the DVD offers DTS 5.1 and PCM stereo tracks to choose from. Since I cannot listen to DTS, I cannot comment on it, but the uncompressed PCM track is wonderful, featuring great fidelity. Forget listening to the CD of this concert from now on, the PCM track bests it in every way. The menus (on both discs) are animated and features soundclips from the show. Thankfully the design has been improved to the point to where the disc doesn't have to be accessed each time you highlight something from the menu (unlike the previous Queen DVD's.) The second disc begins with newly filmed interviews with Brian May and Roger Taylor, the band members give a great deal more insight into the two concerts, and with plenty of backstage footage edited in, it has it's own documentary feel to it. Gavin Taylor (who directed the concert) and Gerry Stickells (Queen's longtime tour manager) are also interviewed, and while not as interesting as the band, they give the shows a bit more perspective which I welcomed. "A Beautiful Day" is a more robust documentary on the Wembley concerts and was directed by "The Torpedo Twins." You know what that means right? Footage we've all seen hundreds of times over, yay! Basically, if you've seen "The Magic Years", you've already seen "A Beautiful Day." However, since that doc has been unavailable for years now, there is probably a good number of newer fans who've never seen the footage so perhaps it's not a total loss. There is a lot of interesting stuff in it, lots of backstage stuff, interviews with Elton John, etc, so it's definitely worthwhile if you've never seen the previous docs. A tribute to Wembley Towers is a real waste of time in my book. Instead of seeing the actual tearing down of the stadium, we get a sped up look at crews removing the two small "towers" outside the stadium with only Brian and Roger narrating. Disc 1 showcases the Saturday night concert at Wembley, but on disc 2 we get the highlights of Friday's show (which ended up being played to a rainsoaked crowd.) While the songs are the same, there are always little differences in how they're performed so it's worth a look. The rehearsals are just that, Queen rehearsing for their massive Wembley gig on a smaller (though identical) stage. The band found this footage in a Queen fan's collection so naturally the audiovisual quality is less than average, in fact it looks like a bootlegged performance. There is also an option to watch Queen using the multi-cam, which is to say you can watch Brian and only Brian performing by himself with no footage of the others (you can do this with Freddie, Roger or John as well if you so desire.) This option is available on four songs; "One Vision", "Under Pressure", "Now I'm Here", and "We Are The Champions." As a Roger fan myself, I particularly enjoyed having him fill my screen for an entire song. Rounding out the features is a picture gallery. Nothing terribly exciting here, I've never found this kind of feature interesting anyway. Included in the DVD is a full color booklet filled with some great photos, but I would've liked to see some kind of essay from Queen archivist Greg Brooks to put the show in a historical perspective. Overall, this is the best Queen DVD yet. The entire concert, looking and sounding better than ever (though I wish they'd include a Dolby Digital 5.1 sound mix since many cannot listen to DTS) and a generous helping of supplemental features make "Live at Wembley Stadium" the DVD to buy for your friends.
Rating: Summary: One of the Best Live Bands Ever Review: I was lucky enough to see QUEEN at Madison Square Garden in 1980 and 1982 so I know what they did live. The Wembley Show is 100 times above what I saw. By this time in 1986 QUEEN played to over 8 million people (2 million alone on the 1986 Magic Tour)and Freddie developed and perfected the stadium front man persona. Freddie and the band (Brian, Roger and John) are in fighting trim on this tour. You can tell how each of them know what the next guy is going to do. The corwd sings and participates in every part of the show (Love of My Life, Radio GA GA, Bohemian Rhapsody etc...) Definity worth buying this DVD. The extras are also interesting (rehersals for the Magic Tour, back stage footage etc...) Go and get this DVD
Rating: Summary: A real let down Review: I have been waiting for a good Queen DVD for some time. This is not the one! The video levels go from normal, to way too high, the audio is poorly mixed and the singing sounds like it's going through a barrel. My copy frooze up several times and crashed my DVD player. Guess I'll have to keep waiting, or go with "We Will Rock You" which has some pretty positive reviews.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic, the real deal!!! Review: I got this DVD yesterday. It is incredible. Finally they put the whole show on DVD. The sound is incredible, and of course the performances ara amazing. The band is in top form. You can see that the band and the crowd are having a great time. The extras on the second disc are incredible. There are interviews with the band, footage from the show on Friday, documentary on how the shows were put together. You are also able to choose a band member from a list and then see about four to five songs with the camera focused just on him. It is definitely the best DVD I own. I highly recomend it.
Rating: Summary: THIS IS THE REAL THING!!!!! Review: The guy above unfortunately is reviewing the Brazilian bootleg DVD. The above ad is for THE REAL THING!!! This is the Queen DVD I have been waiting for. I too bought the Brazilian bootleg thinking it was just an import. The 2 disc set above includes TONS more than the bootleg and it's CHEAPER!!! Every Queen fan should own this DVD, but if you're not a Queen fan, THIS WILL TURN YOU INTO ONE!!! This DVD will show you why Queen could entertain like no other!!! All four members put on a show that literally made me jump out of my seat. We definately lost a "one of a kind" guy when Freddie Mercury passed away. I'm getting kind of long winded so I'll make one thing clear- BUY THIS DVD. For more info about it, go to queenonline.com. It's the official Queen website.
