Rating: Summary: Why are even the used ones so expensive?..... Review: Because the people selling them know how good this is. This may be the best concert DVD I own. I owned Bonnaroo 2003 before this one -- it's good, but this is better. Disc 1 runs more than two hours, and it's so good it's hard to look away. The second disc is a bit of a letdown, to be honest -- they breeze through a some partial performances, intercut with a lot of random crowd footage. In general, the DVD (and plenty of others, for that matter) would benefit from less documentary stuff and more concert footage. I also want to know why in the world they can't start making concert DVDs with decent liner notes that actually tell you something. Thank you to the reviewer who posted the tracklist.
Rating: Summary: A terrific meal but no Biscuits and I'm a Hungry Jack Man. Review: Given the unreal variety of talent packaged into this state of the art 3 hour viewing and hearing extravaganza, few people can complain except the diehards who want whole segments of shows on DVD and Disco Biscuits fans like myself who wish they could watch the Biscuits melt onscreen.
Rating: Summary: Definitely worth your money! Review: Having first bought the Bonnaroo CD, I did not think I really needed the DVD. Having bought it anyway now, I'm glad I did!! This DVD is simply amazing! The sound is crisp and clear, image quality is very good, but first and foremost the performances are incredible! Highlights for me include of course Widespread Panic with Dottie Peoples, Gov't Mule, Blind Boys of Alabama, Phil Lesh and Friends and so on, but what really impressed me was Robert Randolph jamming with Luther Dickinson and Bela Fleck and Edgar Meyer's beautiful B Song, which really gave me goose bumps!! The variety is what makes it great, as this DVD includes a lot of different styles of music, all performed by excellent artists. Jam bands, gospel singers, rappers, bluegrass, it's all here. There is simply no good reason not to buy this DVD. If you don't have a DVD player go get one, cause this DVD is a must have!!!
Rating: Summary: A great festival, impossible to totally capture on film Review: I drove from Houston, TX for this festival which is now located only 20 miles away from my new home of Murfreesboro, TN. I had an incredible experience at the festival, and feel that no DVD can really capture ALL the INCREDIBLE music that was played. Other groups not mentioned on the DVD that should be are Keller Williams, ALL THE DJ'S!, Particle, Llama, the Superjam, Col Bruce and the Codetalkers to name a few. The way the DVD was put together was very impressive, and it flows nicely from one act to the next with little nuggets of interviews and photos stashed inbetween each one. The sound quality is great, and the picture is beautiful (great camera work), but like i said, a festival like this can't really be captured on film in just two and a half hours. Every single act put on a STELLAR show, and its almost as if each act should put out its own DVD of thier performance. It broke my heart to see Mikey of Widespread in his last days. No one knew his end was that close, but when you see one of the few close up shots of his face, you can tell he is weakening. Anyways, four out of five because some key performances were left out, and i would have chosen different songs from the bands that were shown. This is about as POP as jam bands get in this DVD. The music is about stretching out and seeing where the moment takes you, something that wasn't captured very well on this. But it should inspire you to make the trip to Tennessee for next years festival.
Rating: Summary: Almost as cool as being there! Review: I see about 30 to 50 shows a year and can say that this DVD captures quite a bit of a scene that gets missed by popular media. The performances are killer and the interviews and outtakes give you a view of the hottest music scene in the country. This is a must have for any Phil, Bobby, Warren, Trey, Les, Galactic, Ben, Jack, Fan! Kudos to my boy Buddha and the FessHead Krew for the late night parade and party footage!
Rating: Summary: Great way to hear new groups! Review: I was blown away by this DVD. The volume of music is amazing. It runs more like a documentary than a concert. My favorites include Robert Randolf, Gov't Mule, and both Les Claypool appearances. Anyone who buys this will not be dissapointed. By the way, the new Dave Mathews DVD blows comparred to this.
Rating: Summary: Can I be a hippie too? Review: In case you missed all the teenie boppers at the actual show now you can watch and learn. If you buy this DVD even you, MTV generation wannabe, can be a fake hippie just like the people at this show. Hey who knows, maybe the Viet Nam war will start back up and we can ALL pretend we're in the 60's again. See ya at the barbershop kids.

A great way to relive the shows you saw and see the ones you missed. Everyone I have shown this too loves it, from my friend's five year old to my mother!!
