Rating: Summary: finally--free of annoying dj banter! Review: finally we're getting high-quality versions of madonna's post-immaculate videos. finally we get to witness the brilliant cinematography of 'i want you' (oh, wait, that was axed), 'deeper and deeper' (oops, didn't make the cut), and 'you'll see' (wrong again--is a trend developing?)...okay, okay, they're brilliant, and they were left off the video for less-than-brilliant stuff like 'beautiful stranger' and 'love don't live here anymore'. but at least they didn't cut 'bad girl', which by itself is worth the price of the collection (i consider it the best short music video ever). and, along with 'bedtime story' and 'human nature', at least you have some of madonna's best eye-candy to keep yourself occupied...
Rating: Summary: Not a complete video log! Where's the rest of them? Review: I am very disappointed that Madonna's great videos "You'll See", "...Used To Be My Playground", "I'll Remember" were NOT included on this video collection! There should be a second release issued for the missing videos including "Erotica". What a let down... At least I'm happy to see a new video compilation being released!
Rating: Summary: Love all the included videos but... Review: ...this was a big cop out for most the reasons already mentioned in the previous reviews and for a billion others that stem from all the provocative and important things Madonna has and does represent, esp. in her videos. I've seen Erotica and found it silly, and most of the movie clips are only half-video's anyway, but like Immaculate Colelction before it, you can't do Madonna's video work justice unless you put all the big videos in. Leaving out Deeper and Deeper and Justify My Love, as well as the cinematically beautiful I Want You (which contained some of Madonna's best acting to date) is a serious slight. I'd have been willing to pay extra for more, as I'm sure others would as well. Leave it to the corporate gigantor of Time Warner to stumble upon itself in its foolishness yet again. Madonna should buy out TW's share of Maverick, take Guy Oseary and the rest and fly solo as a totally independent record label.
Rating: Summary: E R O T I C A Review: With or without Erotica (which is a shame), Madonna's rank as the most innovative and risque pop superstar is unswerved! Just the fact that FEVER, FROZEN, and BEDTIME STORY are in this video collection makes it worthy of a five star.
Rating: Summary: Madonna can do no wrong Review: Madonna is and always will be the greatest female musician of all time. Her videos are the best that there is, as this collection reflects. I would like to have seen Erotica and I Want You on the collection, but maybe Madonna knows best. I hope that in the future there will be an alternate version of the video released with the more controversial videos added in. I am grateful though that WB put out this collection at all. One can never have enough Madonna stuff.
Rating: Summary: Great video - No soundtrack videos Review: As many others have said, I was dissapointed that Erotica was not included as many people have never seen it. I think the reason that all of her soundtrack videos (with one exception) were not included is because they all have scenes of the movie in them and since the studios own the rights to these scenes, they can forbid them from being SOLD in any format. The Beautiful Stranger video (from Austin Powers) does not include any scenes from the movie which is why it's included here. Hopefully someday Maverick will see it fit to release all her videos from Immaculate Collection and this new one plus her other non-soundtrack clips.
Rating: Summary: Brilliant Review: This has got to be the best video compliation ever put together by Madonna. She is the queen of music videos. This is way much better than the Immaculate Collection!! Go out and BUY THIS!
Rating: Summary: The BEST!! Review: The Video Collec tion 93:99, is a collection of Madonna's best ever videos from 1993 to her latest video in 1999, Beautiful Stranger. Many of the reviewers were against the idea of having Erotica out of the collection, well, in my case I find it an excellent idea. I was extremely mad to know that The Power Of Goobye is not included at first, it's one of Madonna's most beautiful videos ever. When Warner announced that Power Of Goodbye is replaced by Erotica, that was great news to me. Erotica is just a video made up from scenes taken from the making of the book Sex. I understand that not many had the chance to see it, but that will never be a reason that would make the rest of the videos unworthy. This is a must have for every person who finds music videos interesting, and every person who's interested in Madonna.
Rating: Summary: How could they leave Erotica OUT! Review: This collection is great, but like everyone else here, I believe it's a great dissapointment not to have Erotica as part of the collection. They need to release a limited R rated version for those of us who would like to see this video.
Rating: Summary: Grade D Review: instead of using those stars to rate it, i wanted to use D forthis stupid video collection. the only reason why this doesn't get F is only becuase it still contains ray of light or bedtime story video. anybody who have watched her video will know and agree that this is just silly to replace 'i want you' with 'love doesn't live here anymore' or 'erotica' with 'power of good-bye' or 'this used to be my playground' with 'beautiful stranger'...also i can't understand who said wa had to remove erotica for walmart policy, if so, how will they explain other beautiful and elegant videos mentioned above?(i want you, you'll see, this used to be my playground->do you think i'm too subjective for this matter? just check any madonna fan club and see what they are talking about!)...anyway, anyone who read all those reviews below shouldn't bother for their choice but, listen, this is not her best or second best work at all. you still can watch ray of light or take a bow but remember that you are also missing a lot of those madonna's greater videos that you will never get a chance to see within 10years or so.
