Rating: Summary: good but similar.... Review: ... to the CD ROM on the Nico Blue album. It's kinda like there was no new material (for obvious reasons), but VH1 and the NB CDROM covered most of the material. I am a big purveyor of the Blind Melon and have been for years, so don't get me wrong... I do love this DVD and think that it is a wonderful addition to your BM collection.
Rating: Summary: buy it Review: A vastly underated band. Buy it, watch it. Gives you a taste of what might have been if Shannon was still here. If you were unfortunate enough in not being able to see Blind Melon live this video gives you a last chance to see the energy and passion they put into their live performances.
Rating: Summary: Awesome Video Review: All I can say is that I watch it everyday before I leave my house
Rating: Summary: Reality of Blind Melon Review: BM has never been well known or fully appreciated. After seeing this video for the first time I was never the same again. An incredible look into the heart of an amazing band and the person of Shannon Hoon. Also a rare look at Jena Kraus whose voice is absolutely enchanting. Overall a great collection and something I watch all the time and give to friends frequently.
Rating: Summary: Letters Review Review: Content of the DVD is great, all the bands videos are there, short 15 minute segments of the makings of the 3 albums. A 2 hour or so documentary/concert. If you are at all a Blind Melon fan this DVD has everything you need. If you liked the behind the music, this documentary isn't as good but definitly entertaining. The only thing that keeps it from receiving a 5 star review is the fact you can't seek between Live tracks like an audio cd, you have to scan and watch for it, very annoying.
Rating: Summary: Letters from a Porcupine Review: Erie, yet well done. It's almost like taking a trip back into the past whenever you want, only your living life with the band. This DVD shows every moment of the bands life that MTV didn't. It's well done and well put together. Think of it as a must have keepsake of a great band that didn't even see their prime yet.
Rating: Summary: Fall in Love Review: Even though I fell in love with Blind Melon long ago, Letters rekindled the flame and made me remember just exactly how wonderful their music is. This is the finest tribute to Shannon. This video is magnetic, and Shannon's beauty is hard to ignore. I especially love that Letters highlights the music, the closely-knit love in the band and the magic of Shannon's presence and the glory of his life; not his addiction. That's just a sad footnote.
