Rating: Summary: The BADDEST concert around! Review: The true quality and head-bangin' ability of Metallica show through on this packed-to-the-gills DVD! Everything is here: backstage, pictures, roadies, multiple angles on 3 songs. The audio quality is the best, I have friends who don't even like Metallica and they like the wall shaking, ear piercing power of Metallica on this DVD. My only complaint (and it is a minor one) is that it's hard to the crowd when James asks them to sing a verse. Well worth the price. Even if you only have 1 Metallica CD, you should get this. I went out and bought the 5 Metallica albums that I didn't have after watching and listening to this concert.
Rating: Summary: To everyone that ISN'T a Metallica fan... Review: First off, this concert DVD is for the fans. If you don't enjoy "mistakes" or "fun" on stage, then you might as well go buy Milli Vanilli on DVD. Because this is raw, concert, non rehearsed Metallica at it's best. There are PLENTY of songs on here that sound great [even if Hetfield screeches a few times, you try singing 3 hours a day 5 days a week for 2 years and we'll see how your voice sounds]. I love it. I've always been a big fan, and I've tried to see Metallica as many times as possible. To the fans, this is a great DVD. To people that expect a concert to be perfect, well you might as well just by a CD of Metallica because you're going to be disappointed. Oh, and to the person that made the comment about the energy being "low" due to the "pause and comment" portions to the crowd, you've obviously never gone to a concert, because that's what a CONCERT is all about. Sure, they could have edited those portions out, but if you've ever seen them live, you'll realize what Metallica made this DVD for. For fans that CAN'T always go see them live. This DVD captures the TRUE concert feel. And for the price, this DVD can't be beat. Plenty of songs, multiple camera angles, background information on the band and the concert setup, pictures taken while touring, and plenty of great loud explosions and pyro, just like Metallica has been, will be, and always shall be.
Rating: Summary: Excellent DVD, gives the real live stuff Review: The DVD gives an extremely good picture of the strong show of Metallica. Very good recording. My children love it as well as myself.
Rating: Summary: THIS DVD ROCKS!!!!! BUY IT NOW!!!! Review: METALLICA RULES, ALWAYS DID RULE, AND ALWAYS WILL RULE!!!! AND THIS VIDEO'S ANOTHER WAY TO PROVE IT!!!!! THIS VIDEO IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!! IT ROCKS!!!! THE DVD QUALITY MAKES IT AWESOME TOO!!! IT'S LIKE YOU'RE REALLY AT A CONCERT!!!! THE MUSIC RULES AS USUAL!!!
Rating: Summary: Great DVD! Metallica Rules! Review: The DVD version of Cunning Stunts has a lot to offer, and it is, overal, a great product.
Rating: Summary: Definatly a must have for any Metallica fan!!! Review: This is a must have for any Metallica fan. While the concert footage is more than enough to satisfy the average Metallica fan, the behind the scenes footage is outstanding! Definatly one of the best DVD's I own.
Rating: Summary: Displays the talents of the Production Crew... Not the band. Review: Looks and sounds terrific. I always use this DVD to show-off my sound system to friends. Sadly, it doesn't show-off Metallica as a competent band. Hetfield's voice is so far off-the-mark that it is, for the most part, unlistenable as music. The band looks really bored and tired. And the energy drops even more every time they pause between songs for a lazy call-and-response routine. In conclusion: if you have all your speakers and a good subwoofer and want to be wowed by big explosions, this rocks. If you want to hear Metallica play with conviction, buy the earlier video "Live Sh-t: Binge & Purge"
Rating: Summary: Proving again why they are the best live band around Review: Unbelievable display of DVD technology. While I may not be a huge fan of their newer material Metallica proves in this video that as musicians they keep getting stronger and stronger. To this point this is the finest concert video I have seen on DVD or laserdisc.
Rating: Summary: 'tallica gives it all to you BABY! Review: The music's still pounding in my head, looks like Metallica is the only rock band who's still kicking butt. I agree with other people that did not like James' voice, but again it is the best live concert on DVD (video) so far; if you want him to sound good (the same) listen to the CD's over and over. In my opinion this one took the number one spot of my all-time favorites; previously held by Pink Floyd's Delicate sound of thunder. I'm not a big fan of Metallica, (studio stuff), but every time they play in Los Angeles I'm there. Watching them live makes you feel young, and this DVD is the closest thing to the real deal, if not better. From all the bunch, they're the only ones still standing. To anyone who is never been at a Metallica concert, and want to know what a real rock concert is all about, get this DVD ASAP. It's worth every penny of it. P.S. If anyone out there can do something about putting concerts of rock bands from the 70's, 80's, and early 90's on DVD, please do so, we the real rockers will be eternally grateful, today's new rock bands really suck.
