-Opening Scene, Regression, Overture 1928,
Strange Deja Vu, Through My Words, Fatal Tragedy,
Beyond This Life, John and Theresa Solo Spot,
Through Her Eyes, Home, The Dance of Eternity,
One Last Time, The Spirit Carries On, Finally Free,
Closing Scene, A Mind Beside Itself Partes 1, 2, 3,
Learning to Live, A Change of Seasons completa."
Rating: Summary: DT on the radio of the old lady that lives the next door. Review: DT are great. They did a great job on this concert, as they do on every show. Few people can play so well. They play live with no mistake. All of them are extremely talented. I practiced tens of hours to do some of those licks. They don't have to practice ... they know it, because they are good.
But let's not talk about DT, let's talk about this DVD.
I might suck at playing guitar even after 20 years practice, but my a/v gear is brilliant. So i wonder, why this beautiful music sounds soo creepy? The audio is really bad. Really really bad. It's a shame. Did they hear it?
I just bought this dvd. It's the first time i look at it. I think i will turn it off, and i'll put on a CD. (I have all of their CDs, all of them are high quality recordings).
I wonder , how .... how is it possible that a group like them sounds so bad? The mixing is good, but basically all the music is compressed. No soundstage. No dynamics. No air. No bass. No higs. Muddy. MP3s are wounderful compaired to this.
I'd like to turn it off, but the music itself is soooo good that i can't. I will listen it as it is. It seems to listen to my grandma's old radio.
Rating: Summary: Best DVD ever..... Review: This Live DVD is perfect. It's just Dream Theater, their instruments, the fans, and the music. Their is no high-octane show, their are no special effects, and not even any lights that do really cool stuff. Yes, yes I know what youre thinking "So what exactly what makes this the perfect DVD?" Dream Theater dont play music to get famous, they play music because they are musicians, they do it just for the music. The entire performance was flawless, and beautiful. It was perfect, some say, that this DVD isnt cool because nothing cool happens, well DUH, thats the point!! Just listen to the music, thats why they played it. Dont get lost in the commercialism of how most rock stars perform. Ok, ok, I know, cool tricks, and displays are often cool, and make you enjoy the show even more, but when you have an album this beautiful and intricate, you shouldnt have to use cool tricks, and neat displays, the album is the real art, not the show. Dream Theater I think is very proud of Scenes From a Memory, and they wanted to show it by playing it straight through, and have to spice it up in any way. Simplicity is sometimes the greatest achievement a person could make!!!
Dream Theater Rocks!!!!
Rating: Summary: DREAM THEATER all the way Review: As a guitar player, I ordered this DVD for my son who is drummer. I decided to listen to it. What can I say. Petrucci, Portnoy, singer,,, keyboard.. are a perfect match. Singer adds a lot of punch to the song. Music is tight and high energy. One of the best DVD's I have heard so far. Worth every penny. Portnoy...what can you say !!! He ,along with the bass player drive like a transmission on a car. Superb. Hope to but another DVD soon. On a scale 1-10.... I give 15-18... way over the scale.
