Rating: Summary: Pretty good, but not really "Queen" Review: By far, this isn't the best you will ever hear from the greatest live band of all time, but it's good enough, I guess. The Montreal audience is pitiful, failing to respond to almost anything and not knowing the words to "Love of My Life". There is the "Killer Queen" problem where film and sound are different. However, if you're just looking for kind of a 'Greatest Hits Live' DVD, this is just fine. Lacking old classics like "Stone Cold Crazy" and "Liar", however. If you can get your hands on a performance from earlier days, I would recommend that. Still, this is a great DVD, and if the concert would have been performed to a more enthusiastic audience, I would have given it 5 stars.

Rating: Summary: Get it and keep cool Review: Yeah, you are all right. But believe me it's a 'nice-to-have' dvd. I am a big Queen-Fan but also a fan of good productions. This one is really a 'to-talk-about'-production. For me it is acceptable, but you all out there have to decide your own. The sound is worst-mixed. The mix is changing during the songs. Sometimes movie and sound don't fit. The movie is 'ok', not more but not less. The audience is not the emotional-one and some songs are better played in other shows. But what do you want? A perfect playback-video or a real live show with all it's features. I bought it and would do it again.
Rating: Summary: The Boys Must Have Been Hung Over Review: I bought this DVD to get a sense of how Queeen did a live performance never having seen them in person. After viewing the concert, I thought they performed at several levels below their best effort. Sometimes live concerts result in a more energetic and better product than studio recorded music. This live effort was spotty at best with Freddie doing a little too much improvising, and Brian missing some of his great guitar licks (badly) especially in "Bohemian Rhaposody". Also, what happened in the middle of that song? I think the great harmony part was "dubbed in" since one only sees a lot of smoke (and mirrors) onstage with the band nowhere to be seen. Altogether a disappointment.........
Rating: Summary: OK concert, poor video production Review: Queen's first concert home video was originally released to movie theaters in the early 80's (believe it or not.) It was filmed over a two day period in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It was edited (rather poorly) to seem as if it were one show. The lighting is a bit dim and the overall sound mix could've been done better (some of Brian's spoken bits were not corrected in post-production.)This has always been my favorite concert on home video. Queen looked and sounded raw and while performing the rockers "Tie Your Mother Down" and "Sheer Heart Attack", they gave their all to the audience.Freddie seems to go to funk heaven when they break into "Dragon Attack" after a some what lengthy jam improv. This concert marked the first ever performance of "Under Pressure".Though not as slick looking and sounding as their later home video releases, this one stands out because of the band's all out performance. It should be noted that the 1999 re-issue is completely remastered and the picture and sound quality are vastly improved. The sound mix is no longer muddled, it is crisp and clear. The picture benefits from being brightened (we can actually see more of what's going on) but there's only so much you can do to improve the picture. The editing is still ... poor.
Rating: Summary: Buy the VHS not the DVD version Review: I have had the VHS version now for about 2 or 3 years and the quality isn't as bad as what I have read (in reference to the DVD version). It isn't their best live performance, but it is great to see them perform live (so to speak) 'specially if you are like me and never had the chance to see them live.
Rating: Summary: Queen Will Really Rock You! Review: I got this tape last year as a gift. I put it on and was returned to Madison Square Garden where I've seen Queen many times as a young lad. The show starts off with a blistering version of "We will rock you". The boys then mix the musical sets from old and new tunes. During "get down'make love", Roger performs an incredible drum/timpani solo. Of course Brians guitar solo is delightfully magical. Freddie as always steals the show, exhibiting his incredible vocal range. Songs include an acoustic set including "love of my life". From one guitar and one voice to an all out assault of your senses by these rock and roll gods...er...Queens.-A truly remarkable show captured on video. A must for any fan of classic rock.
Rating: Summary: Not the best Queen video, but a solid one still. Review: Over the cours of the years, we have been left with precious few momentos of exactly how powerful a band Queen was live. Freddie, Brian, John and Roger exuded a stage appeal that packed stadiums worlwide for much of their carreer. While this is not their greatest performance, it is a strong reminder of what Queen was. The video quality is a bit on the grainy side, but better than most of the DVDs I have that cover this period. The music is great, although not the "Definitive versions of all their greatest songs" promised on the back. While Dwarved by "Queen: Live at Wembley '86," This is a great performance by a wonderful band. I consider it money well spent. Filmed over two nights in Canada, this is film of Queen in perhaps their greatest period ever. I would highly reccomend Wembley over "We Will Rock You," but this is still a dynamite video that is surely a must for Queen fans.
Rating: Summary: Not up to par Review: I got this DVD expecting the full, rich sound Queen os known for. I was seriously disappointed. Don't waste your money on this one.
