Rating: Summary: Sweet Review: A throwback to older traditional blues guitarists/singers. Laid back style of story telling. I particularly enjoyed it when he brought Doctor John out to join him for a few songs. Studio lighting not the greatest but the music certainly is. A must have for blues lovers.
Rating: Summary: Keb mo - Sessions at West 54th Review: An awesome DVD! ... I first heard Kevin Moore, alias Keb Mo, on a local Public Radio station. As a big fan of the blues, I was immediately drawn to his style. His songwriting and guitar playing are up there with the best. This DVD is from a 1997 concert in New York City with about 200 fans in attendance. There is an immediate feeling of 'being on stage' with the musicians, both visually and sonically. The camera work is superb, taking full advantage of dvd's crystal clear images. The sound is among the best I've heard. I found myself turning the volume up to near club levels as I became more and more involved with the music. Kudos to the sound engineer and his great placement of microphones and excellent mix! ...Blues-rockers, ballads, slide-guitar work....a guest appearance by Dr. John...all add up to a definite must have DVD. Though only 68 minutes in length, you might just set your dvd player on repeat mode ....enjoy!!
Rating: Summary: THIS IS NOT A REVIEW; IT IS A TECHNICAL NOTE Review: As the Series Producer of Sessions At West 54th, I was dismayed to see "kebmofan's" review and that he was unable to turn the subtitled lyrics off. There is, indeed, a bug on this disc, but please note that the lyrics can be turned off using the "SUBTITLE" button on your remote control. The second run of this DVD should not have this subtitling problem. Thank you to all the Sessions At West 54th supporters out there.

Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: Great DVD. No problems with turning lyrics off. Excellent supplementary materials: sample track from each of his 5 CDs; short documentary (10 minutes); and biography (with text that is actually legible on the screen -unlike every other DVD!). I'm sure those interested in this DVD are already fans anyway. In that case there should be no hesitation in buying this DVD. The picture quality is excellent (full-screen) and great sound too.
Rating: Summary: Keb Mo' Is An Unsung Hero Review: I love Keb' Mo', so a bit biased. His soulful sound is clearly demonstrated on this DVD.
He should be counted among the great of his genre. The song 'Just Like You', which he wrote in his living room in LA, is a classic example of his beautiful writing style. The other cuts also stand for themselves...to enjoy.
Please experience this DVD!!!

Rating: Summary: Keb is fun to watch Review: I love Keb's recordings so it is a treat to see a show. I would hate to be in his band. He looks like he enjoys keeping them on edge with where he is going. But it looks to be in fun! Enjoyable band and a guest shot with Dr. John. I would definatly make the effort to see him in live if I get the opportunity. Picture and sound are fine!
Rating: Summary: Great Show! Review: If you like Keb Mo at all, you'll love this DVD. A great selection of tunes from his first couple discs, but defnitely not carbon copies of the originals. If you get a chance to see him, do it, especially if it's just him and his guitar. Maybe not for blues purists, or those expecting screaming electric blues guitar, just great music.

Rating: Summary: Cannot disable the captioning on this DVD Review: There was a problem with the "Keb Mo - Sessions at West 54th" DVD that I purchased. In the menu on the DVD, there is a setting for "Lyrics-ON" or "Lyrics-OFF". This is supposed to turn the captioning ON or OFF during the concert. However, the captioning is always ON and cannot be disabled. The Menu setting is ignored. I don't know if this is a problem with all of the "Keb Mo - Sessions at West 54th" DVDs or only with the one I have? While it is interesting to read the lyrics while he is singing, I find this to be annoying after more than one viewing. As for the concert itself, I found it to be very enjoyable. The guest appearance of Dr. John on two songs was a nice surprise. I've seen him in concert four times now but have yet to see him actually play electric guitar. During the concert on this DVD, he does play electric on several songs - and he's pretty good! I'm glad this show was finally released. Concert footage of Keb Mo was long overdue. If not for the captioning problem, I would have given this DVD five stars.
