Rating: Summary: Highly creative collection Review: Although I am not a big fan of Bjork's music, her videos have always blown me away. This collection is a must-have for anyone who's remotely interested in creative film making. The styles are widely varied, yet all fit with the music. Michel Gondry, Spike Jonze and Chris Cunningham are among the directors featured here, and they do their best work with Bjork - probably because her prodigious talent and uninhibited energy bring out the best in anyone she meets. She is a unique spirit and an extraordinary talent, surrounding herself with the best music directors in the world. No special features on this one, but her music and performances say everything.
Rating: Summary: Best female artist of our time Review: Bjork has such an independent attitude and style that sets her apart from any other musician of our time. I bought this dvd from a recommendation of a friend. I have just recently started to really listen to Bjork and she has really grown on me quick. Her voice is soothing and the way that she projects herself through the videos is intriguing. For anyone that appreciates music and art this video is a must!

Thanks for your amazing personality, creativity and your unforgettable art.
Rating: Summary: Superb Review: Bjork is a very idiosyncratic and great artist. A wonderful singer and a unique song-writer.She also happens to have worked with some great visual artists - Spike Jonze, Chris Cunningham, etc - who have produced for her some of the best promotional videos ever seen. No, really. Even people who are not enamoured of Bjork's music would have to admit these videos are extraordinary. She chooses her collaborators with great aplomb. My particular favourites are the videos for "Bachelorette" which finds our heroine finding a book buried under the ground, taking it to the big city to have it published, and then taking the story onto the stage, and "Big Time Sensuality", which is a simple but effective video in which Bjork rides around on the back of a trailer through the streets of New York, lip-synching and throwing strange shapes. But there are many very fine videos here. She has never repeated herself in a video. She has always pushed the envelope with her videos. There's no dancing around like a pop-moppet here. As Bjork is not your run-of-the-mill pop artist, her videos are not your run-of-the-mill MTV fare. This is, quite genuinely, art. Most of these promos have been critically aclaimed. Particularly the genuinely moving "All Is Full of Love" which depicts a love story between two androgynous robots. Later videos are less self-consciously "whacky" than her earlier ones, such as "Human Behaviour" where she is chased by a six-foot teddy bear, or "I Miss You", where a cartoon Bjork rips up a chicken in a fit of pique. And this also fits the music, which becomes more intimate and serious as time wears on. Also, "Volumen" has the handy advantage of being a greatest hits package with added pictures. And there are more tracks on it than there are on the CD "Greatest Hits", so do yourself a favour, buy it and be amazed at how the pop video can be used in the right hands.
Rating: Summary: no body like her !!! Review: bjork open my eyes to a new world in art and music.
Rating: Summary: Gorgeous visual accompanied by beautiful music Review: Bjork used to be an object that attracted mostly hatred and animosity from me, her weird clothes, her odd music- I couldn't believe people would actually take time out of their lives to waste on such nonsense! Then I actually got one of her CD's and fell in love with her immediately. It's actually incredible how in one instant- as the cd began to play- all feelings of contempt I had towards her vanished completely- never to return. After that I couldn't get enough of her enchanting voice and dreamy music- and I needed so much of it that when I saw they had a music video collection I HAD to have it- and so I do.
From the very beginning this DVD PERFECTLY captures Bjork's child like energy, but mature nature and attitude. The visual content is stunning as well- simple in some videos (such as "Venus As a Boy" and "Big Time Sensualitu"), complex in others (such as "Army of Me" and "I Miss You")- but no matter what, fitting to the song it is put to. Ranging from Bjork dancing and singing in front of the camera, to spastic animation, to expressing emotions through breath-taking landscapes, this video collection is unique and by far one of the best that I own. Also it contains two new videos "It's In Our Hands" and "Nature is Ancient"- both of which are gorgeous and stunning as well.
Just because I want to I'll now tell you some about my FAVORITE videos:
1. "It's Oh, So Quiet": this is one of my favorite as Bjork sings quietly, walking around town, but whenever the loud chorus comes on whoever she is near joins her in dancing, whether it's in an auto shop or people passing on the sidewalk.
2. "Joga": I love this song because it is one of the most beautiful of Bjorks. The visual is incredible (this is the one protraying landscapes). Sadly, some of it was done on the computer, and I guess the ran out of money so there's this one really bad shot in it, but what can you do?
3. "All Is Full of Love": Another beautiful song that portrays Bjork as a robot. Amazing digital effects- I swear "I, Robot" designers saw this and ripped it off- grrr!
4. "Bachlorette": This is a very haunting song and video- looping itself until it unravels back to where it began- very emotional and dramatic.
Well, I hope this helped- though I'm sure anyone who likes bjork at all either HAS this DVD or is planning on buying it- regardless of what I say. Either way- enjoy!
Rating: Summary: Bjork is a musical and visual pioneer Review: Bjork, like Madonna, is one of the rare artists who really makes the most of the music video medium. Instead of creating disposable promos, Bjork's videos are performance art pieces, as captivating and experimental as anything you might see in an art gallery. She has a knack for teaming with wonderful directors who share her vision and pioneering spirit. Some highlights of this stunning collection include "Human Behavior" (a playful, surreal fairy tale by Michael Gondry), It's Oh So Quiet (a post-modern musical extravaganza by Spike Jones), "I Miss You" (an animated wonderland by the artists behind Ren & Stimpy) and "All Is Full of Love" (a cybersexual saga by Chris Cunningham). This collection is a must-have for any true Bjork fan.
Rating: Summary: Wow Review: Every expectation I had of this DVD was met. It's quite a wonderful event to see all of Bjork's amazing videos for the first time on a DVD, the older version of "Volumen" didn't seem like enough for me, and I guess the wait was worth it. Every video here is a work of art... Bjork's music is brought to the screen by some masters of visual arts... Michel Gondry's videos are the most impressive of the bunch, of course, but honorable mentions go to Stephane Sednaoui (Possibly Maybe), Chris Cunningham (All Is Full Of Love) and the guys that directed her newer (Vespertine era) videos. The new songs (It's In Our Hands & Nature Is Ancient) are gorgeous as well, and their respective videos are excellent too, even if Bjork is absent from the latter. All in all, a remarkable body of work from someone who can truly call herself a video artist... she brings her craft to unexpected heights in filmed format! Viva la Bjork!

Rating: Summary: WONDERFUL Review: For ANY Bjork fan this is sweet relish! Pure Gold! EVERY video is presented with clarity only dvd can present along with GREAT sound which is in 5.1 for anyone with a good surround sound system. What is amazing about her videos is that she is able to convey other meanings and just fun weirdness with vivid colors or without etc. This is NOT to be missed for ANY fan! It contains ALL of her hits and some that didnt make it to U.S Television. There is some nudity however in a few videos, "Pagan Poetry" and "Cocoon" for those who might be offended. It isnt "sexual" but done in an artsy way. However for those offended by nudity etc you might want to rent it or download these videos online to see if its your cup of tea. I LOVE her music and the videos inhance the songs for me implanting colorful memories that only Bjork can explore in her own wonderfully weird way! This is a guilty pleasure to be savored.
