Rating: Summary: Ausgezeichnet! Review: This is a great DVD. Like several people have said before, every true fan of Rammstein needs this DVD. First, the good: Everything is well done and there is quite a bit packed into this DVD. I especially like having every music video in one place. The live shows are excellent and illustrate Rammstein's development on stage from 1996-2001. The 'making of' videos are entertaining and illuminate the band's true personality. It also gave me a chance to test my fading ability to understand spoken German. Now, the bad: there are not enough live songs. Rammstein's essence is best revealed on strange, so it was disappointing that there were only about ten or so live songs. Given that 'Bück Dich' did not appear on the 'Live Aus Berlin' DVD, I had been holding out hope that it would appear on "Lichthausspiel." No such luck. Still, if that is the only negative thing that I can say, then Rammstein has done an excellent job with this DVD.
Rating: Summary: Lights, Camera and Awesome. Review: As I was fiddling with the click-on controlpanel of the DVD, a virtual industrial dark-core construction of iron darkness greens that clicks, clatters and whines as topics and instructions fizzle, zap and focus in and out as if receiving the best reception, that causes the camera to roll with that old familiar movie theatre sound , and deciding in what order I wanted to view which one and when, I jotted down a few notes, one of them being 'a fan's custom made video moviehouse'. I considered my thought again ... video moviehouse - is that redundant - well yes and not at all. It is Rammstein giving all that they do and making archives new to spoil their fans just once more plus one. There are 6 concerts from 1996 - 2001 from which to choose what highlights you want to view first. If you'd rather not start off with a concert, you've got all the music videos and the makings of to decide how you'd like to watch them, select all, select individually, go back and select how it was made, select another. Don't forget the Specials that include Rammstein interviews with subtitles in a choice of five languages and hear what other fans have to say. Follow along with what is said in your native tongue or test your knowledge if you're a student of foreign languages. If you have a computer with a DVD player, the PAL format will play until you can order the NTSC version for the TV DVD. Cozy computer or on the big screen, however many concerts you've seen, however much you have collected of the old works of Rammstein, you don't have it all. Lichtspielhaus is a collection of ultimate selections.
Rating: Summary: A view from a forever fan Review: I purchased the PAL Version of this dvd because of the limited edition artwork and I can happily say I was not disappointed. I had to steal my son's X-Box in order to watch it but since he is a fan too is was ok. It is definitely the best put together dvd I have ever seen. The menu is so European and Industrial...it rocks!! The videos are utterly amazing and the making of's are truly priceless. You get little insights from the band members regarding the meaning of the songs. The live segments are also amazing. I will buy the NTSC version when it is released here in January just so my son can have his X-Box back. I will be able to play that one on my dvd player and keep the limited edition in mint condition. Trust me...it is worth every single penny. If you like Rammstein even a little I suggest you buy this dvd and you will become a full fledged fan like myself. R+ forever!
Rating: Summary: Lichtspielhaus Kicks Arsch Review: This DVD is put together well. The menu animation is top-notch. On it you will find the complete catalog of music videos released up to and including Mutter: Du riechst so gut, Seemann, Rammstein, Engel, Du hast, Du riechst so gut 98, Stripped, Sonne, Links 2 3 4, Ich Will, Mutter, and Feuer frei! - in that order; neither censored or edited and in their original aspect ratios. The only technical drawback is in the first two music videos where a few lines of distortion appear at the top and bottom of the screen, but are still watchable nonetheless. Du hast, Du riechst so gut 98, Sonne, Links 2 3 4, and Ich Will also have their own, very interesting Making Ofs with interviews contained in them as well. You can access what subtitles you want for the Making Ofs in either German, English, French, Spanish, or Japanese. Live material includes: 1996 "100 Jahre Rammstein" Berlin Arena (Herzeleid, Seemann), 1997 Philipshalle Düsseldorf (Spiel mit mir), 1998 "Rock am Ring" Festival (Heirate mich, Du hast), 1998 "Live aus Berlin" Wuhlheide (re-edited version of Sehnsucht), 2001 "Big Day Out" Festival Sydney (Weißes Fleisch, Asche zu Asche), and 2001 Velodrom Berlin (Ich Will, Links 2 3 4). These are all professionally done. The sound is 2 channel, PCM stereo instead of 5.1 surround for all of them, but the quality stands on its own. Then you have the "Achtung Blitzkrieg!" TV Trailer which just goes to show the height of Rammstein's international success. Total time: 210 minutes.
Rating: Summary: This DVD is going to rock the industrial music world Review: I cant wait for this dvd to come out. I am waiting so bad to see Ich Will performed live. This dvd should be owned by any rammstein fan. If you dont know about them order this dvd and you will become a fan.

Rating: Summary: If you like Rammstein, why don't you already own this?!?!?! Review: As an American who's a fan of the German band Rammstein, it's near impossible to get quality copies of their collection of videos and to see their concert performances. Live Aus Berlin was a great taste of their live show, Lichtspielhaus however gives you all of their videos throughout the entire span of their career so far, at an incredibly low price also! Where to start however? It's simply amazing, there videos are simply amazing and ground breaking. The imagery in some of them is incredible considering how they're just a rock group (don't get me wrong here, rock groups just aren't really known for their inspiring videos). The interviews with the memebers were great, its not that often you get to see interviews with them to be honest. Plus all the concert footage. The only real problem I had with this was that I found the menu to be a bit hard to navigate through, but it could ahve been a lot worse. So go out and buy this...NOW!!!!
