Hanson - At the Fillmore

Summary: Awesome DVD!
Review: Aaah, God! I felt like I was at the Fillmore with Hanson while watching this DVD! The picture and sound is magnificent, and they sound sooo damn good! I was singing at the top of my lungs and dancing and jumping and waving and otherwise following Taylor's instructions. I discovered again why I love Hanson so much, and it took me back to my own concert experience. I can't wait to see them in person again! But for the time being, "At The Fillmore" will certainly tide me over. Pick it up if you're a Fanson, or if you're just a fan of great music!

Summary: Hanson rocking the Fillmore
Review: I was actually in attendance at this concert, in addition to owning the DVD. I've seen hundreds of bands live, and Hanson has been the most intense. The passion they exert while playing their music is breathtaking, even though at the show itself it was kind of hard for me to get a great view of them playing since I was being squished in between screaming girls.
Hanson's three part harmony over their catchy and mostly upbeat pop-rock music (which they wrote themselves) is so much more real than all the other pop that was coming out at around this time.
The only problem I have with this DVD is how they keep cutting to the really young girls singing along to the songs and making fools of themselves... I remember the girls around me looking much older than those girls, and I really could have done without those shots included constantly. Hanson themselves should have been the sole focus.
Hanson are born musicians, great songwriters, and I wish people would take them seriously instead of associating them with MMMBop because they have matured and really have great talent to offer the world.

Review: It's really good that Hanson came out with a new video! It's really good, with a full of energy performance. I just wish they had some kind of interview etc. on the DVD, all it is is them playing a concert and it gives you 2 of their music videos, but something a little extra would have been nice, but great none the less!

Review: So begins Taylor Hanson as they go into the rocker "Runaway Run." If anyone missed Hanson's This Time Around Tour 2000, this might just make up for part of it. They only play 12 songs and they usually perform about 25 live, but this will still brighten up anyones day.

I personally love watching live performances on TV, but lately I have been disappointed at the lack of true music performed. Many "musicians" now lipsync and don't play their own instruments or have their voices digitalized in the backround. It was a breath of fresh air to see this video and see these talented brothers play. Runaway Run and Thinking of You are great rockers in the beginning. Then they come into their accoustic set. This is my favorite part when they play "Love Song" and "Hand in Hand." Those 2 songs (however great on the album) are amazing live. Isaac's voice is superb live and it is great that he finally gets to showcase it.

Then of course they play their hit singles "This Time Around," "If Only," and "Mmmbop." This version of Mmmbop is probably their best to date and much more mature sounding than the original. This Time Around and If Only are great, especially with Taylor playing harmonica on If Only.

The only lacking part of the video/DVD is that there are no backstage clips or behind the scenes stuff like they had on their previous videos. However, the portion that is there is great!

Review: This is perhaps the best you can get to besides actually being at a Hanson concert, I've been to one and it's very realistic and up close like you've just sat down to see them. It is very good, extremely energetic and absolute amazing! Isaac, Taylor and Zac have done good in the past, but this is absolutely great. They really out did themselfs this time. Doing oldies such as the "Magic Carpet Ride" just adds to the excitment, and Taylor does a splended job on the Piano, and Isaac on the guitar and Zac on the drums. It's especially good on the half acoustic sets like "Lovesong and Hand in Hand", they do a excellent job, and I recommend anyone who wants this DVD or VHS to get it, because it is well worth the money and wait to get it! Hanson at the Filmore is perhaps the best concert they've done, that they've actually taped. Great tape, and perfect concert, very fun to watch and makes you want to get up and dance and clap with them. So if your a true Hanson Fan or Collector, this would be a excellent addition to your Hanson collection.

Review: This was a great concert. Truthfully, I recorded it as a free concert off DirecTV but I still own it and adore it. They play new & old songs and even a cover song or two. Lots of fun and even better visuals!

Summary: Great music for all ages!
Review: We saw this a couple of years ago on Direct TV. Not having been exposed to Hanson (and a geriatric at age 30, compared to their teenage fan base), I put it on since there was nothing else on tv and was literally blown away. I was hooked! You've already read the previous reviews talking about the raw talent of this band and it is so true. I had to show my husband, who is also a musician and even he loves it and he is pretty hard to please musically. What can I say - it's pure rock & roll in an age where musicians just don't have to have much real talent anymore - just a processed voice and some slick dance moves. How refreshing to find some "old school" rock and roll.

Two years later, we bought this dvd and still love it just as much as a few years ago. We thought our 18 month old twins would enjoy it and want them to be exposed to more than just Raffi! They LOVE it and now represent the youngest Hanson fanbase. We even had to buy all their albums since the twins are constantly requesting "Hasson" in the car. They dance to the music and they try to sing along (especially "MMMMMBop" and "Wish that I was There" - their two fav's).

I showed it to my Dad when he was here last and am proud to say that even he thought they were very good! What is so great about this dvd is that they sound so fabulous live. We actually prefer a lot of the live versions over the studio ones since their raw edge and pure talent shines so brightly.

Buy this and you will watch it over and over again. All the brothers sing and mix it up and there is always something that you missed that you catch next time around! Enjoy! And rock on, Hanson!

Summary: EXCELLENT! NEED I SAY MORE!
Review: Well... the boys have done good. This concert is more of a warm up for their American tour, they certainly proved once again what a talent they really are. I am so proud to be a hanson fan. This DVD wasnt released here in the UK so i ordered it from Amazon. I was looking forward to the Bonus material advertised on here especially the live footage of their tour but was very disappointed to find it didnt even exist!, this is the only let down of the DVD...
