Review: THis is definitely the best AC/DC video yet. They show great angles, with the band's best songs. Couldnt get much better. The only thing i would like is more close ups on the lead guitarist. Otherwise this is the greatest!!!

Summary: Great Rock DVD! Must See!
Review: This DVD is a MUST HAVE for any fan of AC/DC! What a performance by all, especially Angus. The guitar solos alone are worth the price of the DVD, this guy is FANTASTIC! All of the wanna-be guitar players of the world will want to see these fantastic licks and riffs. The audio and video quality of this DVD is superb, the camera always seems to be in the right place all through the video. If you really want to see AC/DC in one of their finest concerts, don't pass this one up! I have watched this DVD several times and I'm simply amazed each time I watch it. Really good stuff!

Summary: The # 1 band in the world
Review: I read a lot of reviews before getting this DVD and wasn't sure if I should get it or not but glad that I did! I don't play the guitar and a lot of others say that this DVD was over dubbed and I couldn't tell and really don't care because it sounded so awesome in on surround sound! AC/DC clicks together like no other band ever and this is recommended for any AC/DC fan or anyone who is just getting into AC/DC!

Summary: The VHS is GREAT -dont understand some DVD reviews
Review: As the website was having problems allowing me to enter a VHS review, I'll address things here. I have the VHS edition. A reviewer complained the DVD has VHS quality at best. While I don't have the DVD, that doesn't make sense since the concernt was filmed on 35mm film - just like a normal movie. As a result, any dvd mastering should come from the original film and look much BETTER than the VHS. Now if the dvd was mastered from a VHS master... that would be a problem. I have the DVD of the Muenchen concert from Stiff Upper Lip and can concur with the reviewer who complained bout the quick and frequent cuts and zooms that detract from the experience by never letting you focus on any event long enough to enjoy it. If the person who did the edit directon on the 'Stiff Upper Lip' DVD is the same fellow that did this and they are not the one who did the VHS, then ther is clearly a problem as they must have changed things drastically over the VHS. The VHS is FANTASTIC - and I can only highly recommend it. For the DVD - maybe rent it first.

Review: A must admit, I've heard some bad things about this DVD, LIES!!!!!. This is the greatest DVD ever. I never blinked. Awsome performence! Brian takes Bon's (although sadly) Highway to Hell and Dirty Deeds songs perfectly. A must have for all rock fans.

Summary: AC/DC in concert is fantastic, but......
Review: Everyone knows by now that AC/DC ROCKS live in concert...I would even say that out of the 30 or so live concerts I've seen over the years, AC/DC in concert back during the Thunderstruck tour, was one of the very best , if not the best I've seen. The problem for me with this DVD was 1. I've already been exposed to a KILLER rock concert DVD , that being the recent Led Zeppelin discs which set the bar extraordinarily high now for a DVD rock concert... and 2. there are several details that made the disc less entertaining, at least for me...For starters, there is this strange 'disconnected' feeling of watching in conjunction with listening vibe happening...it's like, the music you hear doesn't quite seem 'synced' 100% with the video. And the video has this 'MTV music video' quality to it, ie- super quick camera shots , with the camera never focusing on anything for longer than a few seconds. Maybe the director thought that helped add to the energy , but it just detracted some for me. The other annoying thing is , the sound has obviously been manipulated post-production wise ....it has a 'studio slickness' to it, and you don't get the sensation of hearing a recording done outdoors, although maybe that would be a difficult thing to capture anyway. There are like, what, several hundred thousand people in the audience?, you see them cheering wildy thru the song, yet you can just faintly hear them thru the tunes...they should've turned up the crowd noise a bit thru the song, as opposed to after it's over. These things added up to the 'disconnected' vibe I mentioned earlier, but, in spite of all my gripes, it IS AC/DC ...with Angus doing his thing like only he can do and the rest of the band rocking out, so any technical imperfections in the making of the DVD must get balanced with the ultra coolness of seeing and hearing one of the great concert rock bands of all time.

Summary: The best AC/DC DVD you can buy!
Review: It's amazing to me that you can pick up an AC/DC concert video on DVD in full 5.1 surround sound for about half the price that the original VHS version sold for in 1992. All hail the DVD format! Of the three major AC/DC concert videos released on DVD so far (Stiff Upper Lip Live, No Bull, and this one), Live At Donnington to me is the best, if only for the superior setlist. The only one of AC/DC's major hits missing is "Who Made Who" (it's available on the CD version, "AC/DC Live"). This concert DVD also marks the one and only tour where drummer Chris Slade was in the band. He was later replaced by original drummer Phil Rudd. Nothing against Mr. Rudd (hard to mess with the original), but Slade is a much more charismatic individual and one heck of a drummer to boot. His bald head and the gleeful look on his face as he bashes the crap out of his drums gives the band a third strong visual persence (right after the omnipresent Angus Young and Brian Johnson) that only adds to the band's appeal.

Review: I recommend this for any live DVD fan. It sounds soooooo good (even if parts are overdubbed) and looks awesome. The better your sound system, the more you'll enjoy it.

Summary: I Wish I Was There....
Review: Well, I've been a fan of AC/DC for a few months now, ever since someone played Back In Black in the locker room, and they are one of the best live acts ever. A few months later, i decided to go to the record store across the street and spend all my lunch money for the week on this DVD. It proves that AC/DC. I haven't watched the whole thing, I must admit, but I saw enough to impress me beyond my wildest dreams. It has a classic lineup of songs, nearly all of the classics. As another reviewer put it, Brian Johnson does a great job of covering Bon's songs, like Highway to Hell, Dirty Deeds, T.N.T. and others. I cant comment much on sound quality, because the audio on my TV is screwed up and i couldn't hear Angus at all. My little brother was playing with his friends in the same room, so I didn't dare play Whole Lotta Rosie, hearing about the inflatable girl...
All in all, this is a great DVD. I believe the back of the box put it best: 'Live at Donington is one of hte greatest live concert documents of all time.'

Review: This dvd is the greatest. I originally had the copy that was only sold in brazil, but now sony has remastered the audio and has done a new digital transfer for clearer picture on the dvd. This is a must buy for any AC/DC fan.
