Summary: AC/DC's Early Nineties Castle Donington Concert Rocks!
Review: After watching this never before released (in The U.S.) AC/DC concert from Castle Donington, I was amazed at the sound quality of this dvd. But after watching it several times and watching Angus Young's fingers doing his fancy fretwork, I sadly realized that parts of this concert have been doctored. That's the reason for the excellent sound, alot of overdubs. On certain songs it's obvious Anguses guitar riffs have been tampered with and cleaned up. His fingers don't match what he's playing on a number of songs. Nonetheless, it all sounds great, but was it really necessary? Possibly the original concert tapes were of inferior quality and this was part of the reason for the "cleaning up" as so to speak. The concert itself is amazing with Angus running back and forth doing his famous goosewalk as he strums his Gibson SG Standard guitar. The energy level certainly never lets up and the entire band sounds great. Singer Brian Johnson's voice fits well with even the earlier AC/DC Bonn Scott material such as "Jailbreak", "Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be", "Highway To Hell", "The Jack", "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap", etc. Since this concert was filmed in 1991 AC/DC include a few of their songs from the new (at the time) "Razor's Edge" album such as "Thunderstruck", and "Fire Your Guns". There are the usual songs such as "Back In Black", "You Shook Me All Night Long", "Hells Bells", "Shoot To Thrill" all from their 1980 "Back In Black" album as well as a few from other albums such as "Heatseeker" and the anthem "For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)". The picture quality is also excellent on this dvd which by the way is two hours long. There's also a colorful booklet included with the dvd which includes AC/DC's 1991 "Razor's Edge" tour dates as well as information about the Castle Donington concert. I would recommend this dvd to all AC/DC fans as well as heavy metal rock lovers worldwide.

Review: Absolutely Best at the Highest possible Volume on a Surround sound system.
AC/DC Deliver for the fans, and they deliver consistently.
I doubt very much that the DVD is Overdubbed, since the Sound is the Same as Every other AC/DC Release. But even if it is, WHAT THE HELL...
This is a Great Show, and the Goods are delivered.
Angus Plays brilliantly, and works the crowd superbly. As for the alleged disparity between what you see and what you hear... Angus is 5"2, so his playing of the Gibson SG he uses is deceptive, it looks one way when physically he is producing the sound by what his body does and his left hand technique. Hard to explain, but what you see is not always what you hear.
The other thing that I thought any Movie viewer would know, is that In Making a Concert Film, a Second , third, or whatever, camera is used for "Inserts", and this is matched as best as can be done... which does not always work; this does not mean that the Track is overdubbed, merely that the Line editor, and the Final Edit did not match.Anyway, this is Superb. Get NO BULL: LIVE IN MADRID, and The DVD of AC/DC Live in Munich... Extremely Brilliant !!!!!!!!
This is a real Step up from the Original VHS Release.

Review: What a great concert! Angus is gyrating around like my wife's vibartor on a Saturday night! The crowd is huge and looks to be thouroghly enjonying themselves, just like my wifes vibrator on a Saturday night. My only complaint is Brian Johnson's bulge. He needs to wear some tighter jeans...maybe like Robert Plant used to wear back in the day. This is a must have for the AC/DC fan.

Summary: Monster Show By A Larger-Than-Life Band
Review: Fantastic 2 hour 18 song set from England's now famous site of many a rock concert - Donnington. 5.1 Dolby Surround fills your room with crisp sound. Great camera work. Rich colors. An overload of energy on stage with AC/DC members (Brian Johnson - vocals, Angus & Malcolm Young - guitars, Chris Slade - bass, and Cliff Williams - drums). Absolutely huge crowd scenes - more than any show I've ever scene - on TV or in person. Roving (helicopter) ariel camera shots. Massive speakers making the Young brothers look like minature rug-rats prancing around on stage. This was truly the definition of a monster show. Check out the guitar solo's on "Jailbreak", "Hell's Bells", and "High Voltage" - simply amazing Angus! Great 1991 show and thanks for putting this out finally on DVD with superior sound. A great song list midway through AC/DC's "Razors Edge" tour:

Summary: Good but not Live
Review: The concert was good but there are two glaring flaws that will trouble you on the first watch and limit rewatchability. (1) The sound is obviously overdubbed and has no live quality to it. It sounds like this "concert" was recorded in a studio and sometimes you hear the crowd through it all. It doesn't have that airy feeling one gets at a concert. You will also notice many overdubs. It just doesn't sound like a concert. Very disappointing as it's the same songs just faster. (2) MTV like production which is what makes virtually every concert video block rocks. What is with these producers who are all inflicted with ADD? The ROlling Stones Bridges to Babylon and Eagles Hell Freezes Over and STevie Ray Vaughan's Live at the Mocambo are perhaps the only 3 music DVDs I know that actually give you a perspective of the band while they are playing. Watching any one of those and watching the trashy player to player to crowd to feet to riff to singer to drummer, etc. 3 second flash will realize what it means that more shots means far less. It is very hard to get a feel for the concert. This gets a little better as you go along but it's limited. Angus is featured as the soloist but, of course, you get 5 different shots in 12 seconds and you never really experience what is really going on because it's close up this, zoom out that, side shot here, soom in again, back to the fade out... please, will someone create a school for these guys. Other than that the concert does have energy and the crowd certainly seems like they are having a good time. Potentially worth the money as I got it for under $10 and that is worth it. Decent, has extras, far better than most of the crap out there. I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could.

Review: I was not dissapointed at all to this DVD and throughly enjoyed it. Angus is not only a great guitarist, but he also the most energetic I've ever seen on film, TV, or in-person. If you're an AC/DC fan and don't have this DVD, what are you waiting for?

Summary: Rock at its best!
Review: AC/DC has done it again. If the video for Donnington was good, this is unbelievable. Angus is top notch-duck-walk, head bobbing, screaming and all. The band is solid, with Brian cranking out like always. The sound overall is great. If it is overdubbed, which is possible, its still AC/DC, and the music is all here. Favorites like "Whole Lotta Rosie" and "Back In Black" shine, and even some lesser-known tunes are hammered out in this spectacular performance. There's some commentary on the show (done by Angus and Malcolm) and some info and commentary on their discography (also done by Angus and Mal), as well as a new, great feature. Dubbed "Angus Cam", you can view certain tracks with the camera focusing on a certain band member (such as Thunderstruck with Angus) This option is great, and adds to the already immense DVD. A must have for a fan of AC/DC, or just someone who can't wait to sit down and be sucked into the world of Rock and Roll.

Summary: How did Brian Johnson ever get the job?
Review: You will love every opening of each song. Everything is great
until Brian Johnson starts in. Man, if he would just speak the
lyrics opposed to his attempt to sing, it would greatly improve
the DVD. If he wouldn't sing at all, I'd give it 4 stars. Angus
& Malcolm are simply the best. I will listen to AC/DC with Bon
Scot until the day I die. If you are going to order only one
AC/DC VHS/DVD, this is not it. If you have all the others, then
yes, you'll need to complete your collection with this one.

Summary: AC/DC At there finest
Review: The word going around on the AC/DC forum at Elektra when this first hit the market was that some of the tracks on this DVD had been over dubbed. Meaning that its not the original sound found on the VHS version! And no one knows why as of yet? But that dosent stop this show from beeing worth buying, only the hardcore AC/DC fan will notcie a few slight changes! Its nothing to worry about, the sound is absolutly fantastic! AC/DC's greatest show is now on DVD. Which is great because I, like many others had the shoddy VHS version that Angus's guitar was not hearable, so I never even knew what the original solos sounded like, the only thing i could tell a diffrence on was TNT it seemed to have been more the "oi oi oi" of the LIVE SE albums chant on TNT ...but again, its nothing to worry about! The extras are a few alternate camera angles! but there a bonus feature, there not one of those ones where you can press your remotes "camera angle" feature, there seprate all together! Theres not one for every song, or is there any two angles for the same song! Most of them are Angus and Brian, one or two for Cliff and Malcolm, and i'm not even sure if Chris Slade got one or not? There is a short Audio Commentry with Angus and Malcolm and they give you some info about some intresting things! And there is a discography of pretty much all the world released AC/DC albums, with Angus and Malcolm putting some Audio Commentry over the top of them if youd like some info about those albums!!!! apart from the new dubbing. This DVD isgreat, and will be the video to make all you non AC/DC fans eyes pop open and hear a sound unlike no other! and the enormous crowd headbanging along to the worlds greatest Rock N Roll band thats sure to make you see this band in a whole new light if you know nothing of the worlds most electrifieing band. This DVD is no disapoinment, and features more footage then released on the VHS! for egsample, the VHS did not come with "High Voltage" and tho its seen as to why it was cut because of some malfunctions with Angus's guitar, its there now for you to enjoy! - this reveiw was done again by me because the damn thing wont save my edit i made to my previous review when i didnt own this DVD yet!

Review: First off...I dont see any problems with the audio, Like I read on the first review. The audio was perfect on my 5 year old tv and 3 year old DVD player. AC/DC Live At Donnington is possibly the greatest concert DVD ever made. Every song you need is on here. Angus starts the show off with some great guitar action and never lets up. Every member of one of the 3 greatest bands ever, IMO, never lets up to tell you the truth. Watching the DVD makes you respect these guys even more..and makes you realize how hard they work. The energy can almost be felt though the DVD. This is the perfect dvd
