Rating: Summary: Waters is a Genius Review: This concert video is one of the best I've seen. I'm writing this because some guy in an earlier review said that the only thing he would change about it is he'd have Waters sing the chorus of Comfortably Numb because he thought "that guy kinda screwed it up." Well, pal, "That guy" happens to be Van Morrison, a very highly respected singer/songwriter, and probably the most creative vocalist in that show. I didn't say best. That title might well go to Carrack of Squeeze, but Morrison is arguably the most creative. Please give him and the others a listen. You are in for a treat.
Rating: Summary: If I had my way... I'd have all of you shot Review: It's decent.... not as good as the original Wall... but it's interesting to hear other people on the it. It's not a MUST buy... but for you complitests... and Wall addicts.....
Rating: Summary: this is good, but could be better Review: While the songs remain timeless, the artist that performed them on this night in Berlin, were not. The bleeding heart band performed with Roger and this sounded great, but the scorpions doing "in the flesh?"? I think not. This video is so over-indulgent in star quality of the 80's that it sometimes in places overrides the songs themselves. It would have been excellent if roger could get over the differences and just play with floyd agian. thanks
Rating: Summary: it was like being there again Review: i thought it was recorded great. i seen alot more on the video than i remembered when i was there. i show it to all my friends. thanks roger
Rating: Summary: HAMMER!HAMMER! Review: For those of you who dont know what the guy in the chopper says he says, ""you, yes you stand still laddy!". This tape was excellent...for true floyd fans only.If you are a new comer go ahead and buy "The Wall" the cd 1st, then if you fall in love with it like the rest of us, buy this video. I do think "The Trial" was slaughtered, and the 1st In The Flesh? is it just me or should some on tell the scorpions how to dress properly?!??!"The Thin Ice" was great, but i was hoping to see Roger sing "Mother" 1 of my favortie songs from the cd. O well! What made me upset was the fact that Roger didnt sing the corus of "Comfortabley Numb"...i think that one guy kinda screwed it up. Anyways, the rest of it was perfect! You can watch it over, and over the thing that will give you goose bumps is the part when the crowd chants "Daddy's gone across the ocean" OoOoO it will give you goose bumps! I mean how would you feel if thousands of pepole were chanting you lyrics?!?!
Rating: Summary: 1 Review: This video is very interesting, pink floyd is my favorite group they are very good
Rating: Summary: Great... Review: I Remember a while back when my dad took me to the video store one time when I was about 5 years old. He said that we sould rent this one.. it was an accident beacuase he meant to pick out The Wall Movie but it was a good accident. When I heard the words Pink Floyd come out of his mouth I thought, "Oh NO... More of Dad's old music" It was not like that at all. The whole concert rocked, emulating almost perfectly a true Floyd concert of The Wall... Buy this movie.. you won't be dissapointed. Just keep in mind my theory... Roger Waters was Pink Floyd, the 3 "other" guys were his back up!!!
Rating: Summary: Another place for Waters and 'Floyd loyalists to clash... Review: ...and forget that they once were a common constituency. It sometimes reminds me of that old beer commercial (LESS FILLING!!! TASTES GREAT!!!) Pink Floyd was one of the best fusions of hard rock and art rock ever, and it's no accident that Waters ramrodded this effort--he practically wrote every note here. But rock fans are like high school basketball fans--the teams play the actual game, but it's also the job of each team's fans to defeat the other team's fans. Kind of like a parallel contest in the bleachers. But it's great to see "The Trial" with different people playing the roles. The use of the real helicopter with a guy with a bullhorn on board. I wonder how they got the thing to show up on time? And I still can't tell what the guy's saying. Or what the crowd's chanting during the "marching hammers" part of "Waiting For the Worm". And it's here that you get the best cover song ever played; "In the Flesh", done almost as well by the Scorpions as 'Floyd did it themselves!
Rating: Summary: What GENIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: To have only been there to partake in such an amazing production. Only someone with such creativity, as Roger Waters, could have brought the movie to stage. Not only were you there to enjoy the music but were actually able to be part of the film.
Rating: Summary: A moment in time that cannot be repeated. Review: These tens of thousands of fans, standing in no mans land, are celebrating music. Music is power over oppression. Music is freedom. This work is full of symbolism that dances with it's epoch. The end of the cold war is the perfect stage for The Wall. This setting will give you goose bumps. These fans are here to be a part of history, as much as they are here to experience great rock and roll. This video does a great job of engaging the audience. You will feel what it's like to be a part of history...a part of a great live performance. This work is a classic that is full of meaning, presented in the epochal context of the disgrace of war and the exuberance of freedom. The fact that Roger Waters can provide this much meaning, to this many people, is a tribute to his artistic vision. His influence on so many peoples lives has been an enormous positive statement in terms of his ability to reach people through his music, entertain them, and evoke emotional introspection.
