Rating: Summary: A smile a mile wide. Review: I had a smile on my face a mile wide throughout the whole show. It is just amazing how good these guys still are. I recently dug up an old video of an old woodstock like music festival called the Isle Of Wight festival. The Moody Blues were one of the groups along with many others way back in 1970. Thirty years later this band is still going strong. Dick Clark would probably be jealous of Justin Hayward. This guy doesn't look his age and he can write excellent tunes, play a great guitar and sing with the best of them. Great song selection,(although I wanted many more)superior sound and picture, this DVD is a real treasure to Moody Blues fans of old and new. This could be one of those DVD's that puts VHS users over the edge to break and part with the money for a DVD player. I'm also a Grateful Dead fan and it was "Downhill From Here" that did it for me.
Rating: Summary: Musical Excellence Review: This DVD/Video is a favorite in my collection. It gives tribute to one of the greatest bands of all time. My only Regret is that it does not included features from their latest album. (Strange Times) The Moody Blues represent some of the world's favorite songs through nearly 5 decades of music. Their ability to please crowds is unparalleled in the performing history. If you only buy one music video in your lifetime, this is the one to buy.
Rating: Summary: The Moody Blues Hall of Fame-Live From the Royal Albert Hall Review: Great DVD. Long time fan of the Moodies, it's great to finally see one of their concerts on DVD. I'd like to see other concerts done on DVD such as "A Night At Red Rocks" and others.
Rating: Summary: Moody Blues Excitement and The Majesty of the Albert Hall Review: I was fortunate enough to be present in the audience at the taping of this concert on May 1. The video captures the excitement of the band, the enthusiasm of the crowd and the wonder of the historic Royal Albert Hall. It is wonderful to see true icons of the 60's British invasion continue produce new music and provide stellar live performances.
Rating: Summary: Great As Always Review: This was a great Live Concert. I first saw in on PBS. I'm a long time Fan and I am very glad there is finally a Moodys Blues DVD. I hope to see some of the other Moody Blues VHS,s transfured to DVD format.
Rating: Summary: Totally Awesome Review: Saw this on PBS and joined just to get the video. It is awesome. My daughter, son-in-law and I had just seen them in concert in Toledo, Ohio. Then comes the video almost virtually the same. It is like going to the concert, over and over. I've been a Moody Blues fan since "Nights In White Satin" came out and they just keep getting better and better. This video is totally 5 stars. Too bad it can't be rated higher.
Rating: Summary: This is THE ONE... Review: This DVD of the Moodys should be in three places: in the next time capsule, aboard the next probe From Earth seeking intelligent life in the Universe and in the most important place in your collection.
Rating: Summary: Excellent and Superb Performance! Review: I saw this concert on PBS for the first time last month and it totally blew me away! It rocked and the intensity of the band was awesome! They have certainly gotten better and better with time. They certainly know how to touch a person's heart and soul. The Moody Blues were awesome at "RED ROCKS", but they're performance at "ROYAL ALBERT HALL" was better then awesome simply EXCELLENT! I'd give them 10 stars if I could. ~~Moody Blues Fan Forever!~~
Rating: Summary: Super high quality performance, sound and production Review: If you have ever enjoyed the Moody Blues music, buy this disc. If you've never heard of them, this is a great place to start. The 5.1 surround sound quality is fantastic. In fact it's the best I've heard on any concert dvd. I play it again and again. I wish they would do similar live event dvds of the Moodys 7 classic albums. This music is timeless. This show, like Red Rocks, is dominated by the great Justin Heyward. Personally I would have liked to hear a little more of John Lodge and Ray Thomas.
Rating: Summary: The Magnificent Moody's Review: Firstly a perfect setting, the Royal Albert Hall.
Justin Hayward's wonderfully emotional voice and superb guitar work.John Lodge's personality, bass work and vocals.Ray Thomas's super voice and flute work & Graham Edge's drums, the band has never been better!Add the orchestra, other musicians and backing singers and what a night in store! To watch true artistes at work gives you goosebumps! One selfish gripe, about 40 minutes too short!!!Brilliant.
