Summary: DTS Encoding Problem?
Review: The video is very sharp. The Dobly 5.0 mix sounds great, but when I listen in DTS mode, my left surrond speaker crackles. I know its not my player or system because other DTS releases I own sound fine. After reading all the other reviews I noticed no one mentions this problem. Maybe I have the only defective disc? How about some feedback on this?

The band and orchestra sound great. Good song selection. If your a Moody Blues fan buy it!

Summary: Great video but a little truncated
Review: I have seen the Moody Blues in concert several times in the past few years and they still sound great as evidenced by this video. There are four original members of the group but the keyboardist, Mike Pinder left the group long ago and I miss him with his rich baritone voice. Without Mike, we never get to hear "And the Tide Rushes In" performed anymore. However, the other four along with a new keyboard player sound great and this video is very representative of how they sound live in concert at this stage of their careers. They don't vary their repetoire much, what you see here is pretty much what you get at every concert (e.g. their "Night at Badrocks" CD and/or video). My main criticism of this video is that the editing seems a little truncated. Maybe having seen them live emphasizes this in my mind but I think anyone who views this will get the same feeling. Otherwise, this is an enjoyable video that gives the essence of a Moody Blues concert.

Summary: A smile on your face
Review: This concert brought a big smile to my face! The sound is great--my surround sound system has never sounded better. The concert is in 5.0 not 5.1. It made no difference. If you ever owned a Moody Blues' CD at anytime, you will love this DVD!

Summary: Great, but not perfect
Review: Its great to be able to watch the Moody Blues live and this DVD is amazing. The sound and graphic quality is superb. If you are a fan, go buy it!

2 things wrong that keeps this from getting 5 stars: 1) Its not a full concert, with a few notable songs cut out. 2) An unforgiveable edit of "Legend of the Mind" in which over a minute of music is cut out. Have no idea why they did that!

Summary: Still In Love With These Awesome Performers!
Review: After seeing the Moody Blues on the PBS special, I couldn't wait for the video to relive the magic again and again. The best part of all this is from the airing of the PBS special to receiving the video, I was able to see Justin, John, Ray and Graeme in Tunica at the Goldstrike, and hated to see the concert end! But now, I can watch it any time and fall in love all over again with this very special and exciting group from my youth. I even have my 21 & 16 year old enjoying "Mom's music". Keep it up guys, I hope to see you again real soon, either live or on tape!

Summary: Meeting the Moody Blues again....
Review: I caught this concert on PBS totally by accident and I'm glad I did. I had all the Moody Blues Albums in the 70's but they went out in the trash with the rest of the vinyl. I loved them then and I fell in love all over again. I particularly got a kick out of it because they are just a little older than me. Time sure has a way of bringing ages closer together. But they can still rock ! It even inspired me to order their latest CD and Seventh Sojourn all over again. I can't get the song "Haunted" out of my head. I think I've played it about 50 times since I got the DVD. Great Stuff.

Summary: Wow.... No proper words to describe this amazing concert !!
Review: At first, I must say that this is the best music video I have ever seen. I have already seen this DVD more than 5 times since I got it just two days ago. When I saw "Night in white in satin", I was simply mesmerized with good memories. Actually every single moment was true pleasure to me. All the songs were wonderfully performed. I just regret the concert was not long enough to include more songs. They should have added such songs as "Gemini Dream" and "The Voice" from the album "Long Distance Voyager". After seeing this video, I decided to buy their recent album "Stange Time", some songs from which became my favorites.

The each member of the band is just amazing. Particularly, I think, Justin Hayward still has the same strong and beautiful voice as he had in 60's and 70's. To me, this old man looks more handsome than Ricky Martin.:) I also enjoyed watching the audience clapping, laughing, singing along and even dancing. I wished I had been there with them too.

As mentioned below here, the technical quality is excellent. Thank you "Image Entertainment" for doing great job. Only one thing I didn't like about this DVD is that it does not provide subtitles(lyrics).

I am so in love with Moody Blues again. I became a greater fan because of this video. I just want more of the band. Any possibility to get "Hall of Fame 2" or something like that? May be forever Moody Blues....

Summary: good stuff
Review: I loved this. Saw the concert in the summer of 00 and this is just like being there. I have a high definition wide screen tv with progressive scan dvd player. This makes it like having Justin Hayward standing in my living room and singing. Wonderful to watch or have on while doing other things. Watched it three times since Thanksgiving. Only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is the fact that the flute solo in "Legend of a Mind" is cut short. This was really dissappointing to me. I think it was cut off the dvd, not cut in concert.

Summary: Just keeps getting better...
Review: This is a must have for Moddy Blues fans. The band is at their best, accompanied by a full orchestra on one of the world's greatest stages. The DVD video is very clean and the Dolby Digital 5.0 soundfield is great as well. There is no .1 LFE channel, but my Onkyo has both of my Klipsch subs cranking out the deep basssssssss nonetheless... gmc

Review: The broadcasts on PBS can't begin to compare to the sound reproduction and picture clarity on the DVD. Sound mixing is infinitely better. The only way to describe this DVD is AWESOME! If I could rate it ten out of five stars, I would. This is the next best thing to being there.
