Rating: Summary: Fans Will Rejoice Review: A treat for any music lover, but true fans of their tunes will rejoice at the great treatment the band gets on this DVD. Plenty of between-song looks into the Flecktones' activities is an unexpected extra, and the concert is simply...FUN!
Rating: Summary: Best musicians on the planet Review: Alright, I have to agree with all the other people that reviewed this DVD. It IS in fact amazing, there are guest stars musicians from all over the world, the asian guy singing three notes at a time, the indian precusionist. and many things more, jus plain amazing. But there is one small thing that I noticed that really bugs me, and all the other reviewers failed to mention it, maybe they didnt notice it, but here it goes. The audience watching this show, are the biggest posers in the world, you see these people dancing like retarted hippos, and the camera keeps focusing on them. its really funny at first, but then it just gets annoying. Other than that, this DVD is amazing.
Rating: Summary: Jawdropping Review: Bela and Victor never cease to amaze me. You can not only find virtuosism, but there's great music too! I found the music both interesting to me as a bass player, but anyone at home seemed to dig it. Two thumbs up!.
Rating: Summary: Musical Entertainment at its Best Review: Bela Fleck & the Flecktones are one of the greatest live bands ever, but throw in 5 more of the most unique and sometimes unusual musicians in the world, you have an amazing show...and in this case, a DVD. Live at the Quick offers a colorful look inside the world of the Flecktones. While some crowd shots are a bit unnecessary (and obviously not in sync with the stage's activity), Quick still provides an amazing musical and visual experience. The DVD also has some interesting band member interviews and a look into the history of this magnificent band.
Rating: Summary: The evolution of music Review: First there was Louis Armstrong. Then there was Charlie Parker. Then there was John Coltrane. Now there is Bela Fleck and the Flecktones.... redefining the way music is written and performed. The only thing better than this DVD is watching them perform live.
Rating: Summary: Bela does it again !! Review: From solo insanity to unison magic, this ensemble has it all! With the addition of the horns, tabla, and steel drums, Bela and the Wooten brothers are unstoppable. I highly recommend this live DVD to anyone curious about the world of the Flecktones. You will not be disappointed!
Rating: Summary: Essential Flecktones Review: Great concert. Great interviews. If you like the Flecktones, get this DVD.
Rating: Summary: Incredibly Repetitious Review: Hearing so many good things about this DVD, I decided to give it a try. Being a musician, I was totaly impressed with the talent by all of the musicians. Unfortunately, the song selection was little to be desired. Every song sounded just like the one before it. The one good thing about the DVD was Victor Wooten's rendition of Amazing Grace. You don't have to take my word for it, but I think that I would save the cash on this one.
Rating: Summary: I love this music Review: I asked for 'anything' from Bela Fleck for xmas from my kids since I knew of his banjo work in bluegrass. I was totally blown away by what this band (the large band on this video) is doing. It might not be for everyone but so far everyone I've shown the video to loves it.Jim
