Rating: Summary: if i was rating each video Review: If I rated each fo these video's as I watched them on T.V. I would most certainly give most of them 5's. maybe a few 4's
Street Spirit's one of my favorite videos' and that along with Fake Plastic Tree's ( a pretty mediocre video actually) are the song/video's got me into radiohead.
The Reason this package gets 2 stars is its just so bare bones. Its a bit of a waste unless your so hard up for something radiohead related. With so Much more video/footage of Radiohead that they could have included, its annoying that something this small would be released. Most of these video's are good for a couple viewings. But there are much better Music DVD packages out there, for around the same cost.
Rating: Summary: Hail to the music video Review: Many people have allready said much about the videos, they ARE art, they ARE beautifull, except, and here's where my two bits come in, the video for Paranoid Android is vulgar, greatly dissapointing, and quite the opposite of the conflicting beauty and tension of the song. I try hard not to think of this gross and undermining video when I listen to the song. Thankfully I have the Vancouver planetarium's glorious star and laser show of Radiohead to remember when I play the song, and I will allways picture an intense shower of falling stars and flying through space when the tension eases in the song and Thom sings "Rain down, rain down on me". They could have done something really profound and inspiring with this song like they did with the other songs. What a shame. My favorite is Street Spirit, so gossamer and haunting. It reminds me a bit of Depeche Mode's video for Halo, and U2's All I want is You with the caravans, darkness and inner torment. I was really blown away by the other 6 videos on the disc and several of my fave Radiohead songs are here. I lament my years of loosing track of the realm of music video. Long may it thrive and prosper as a respected art form!
Rating: Summary: Simply awesome! Review: What can I say that hasn't already been said about Radiohead and the videos in this collection? The two-cents I'd like to add is directed towards the individuals who criticize this DVD for not having any additional material. When you think about it, this is a direct reissue of a VHS video that appeared in 1998 and unfortunately did not stay in print very long. Once it became unavailable, copies would appear on eBay and command fairly high bids, so with that being said, this DVD release is actually a damn good value! Sure I'd also like to have their other videos, but I'm just grateful that this original collection FINALLY saw the light of day on DVD. And on the other hand, there will always be purists who criticize reissues that ADD bonus material (the argument being that it detracts from the original "artwork"), so it really just goes to show that you can't please 100% of the people 100% of the time!
Rating: Summary: Brilliant - No filler Review: The cheeky title of this DVD says it all. If you are a fan of Radiohead, you already have some idea of what to expect. This no-frills DVD will not disappoint.I already had all of these "commercials" on my computer; however, the picture and sound quality on this DVD is so vastly superior to the compressed video format that there really is no comparison and is well worth every penny. There are no special features, no booklet, no additional artwork, no commentary--just these seven beautiful videos. I suppose there could possibly be an "Easter egg" hidden on the disc, but I didn't find any. The box that it comes in is itself is quite nice--collector-worthy--not your typical cheap plastic or cardboard.
