Rating: Summary: Get "Swingin Out Live" First! Review: Although I rate this concert highly, I have to recommend "Swingin Out Live" more: Harry is younger and not quite as Hollywood, he plays the piano more (and, might I add, brilliantly) and the venue is intimate. That being said. I liked the New York Concert more than I thought I would. With original songs, outstanding performances from his bandmates, and lots of New Orleans style fun-it's hard not to swing along! To the man who called it too "brassy"...darlin' it's southern-style big band. If you want "cool" stick with Miles!
Rating: Summary: Get "Swingin Out Live" First! Review: For all of you Harry Connick Jr. fans, this is a deal you just can't pass up! The selections of songs in this concert are some of Connick's best and it shows his personality in full "swing"! Another great thing about this video is that he involves the audience in such a way that it doesn't leave you feeling left out, like other recoreded performances. Feeling depressed? Curl up with some popcorn and Harry Connick Jr. and kiss your troubles away! You'll never get tired of watching it! I highly suggest buying this video for yourself and your friends!

Rating: Summary: Buy this dvd NOW Review: I just got this dvd for Christmas from my mom and it's absolutely the best. I have about 4-5 cd's of Harry's music and treasure them. My father was a band director for over 35 years and we just watched this dvd tonight. I grew up listening to jazz, country, classical, blues, rock etc.....I listen to all kinds of music...from Frank, Charlie Daniels, Stevie Ray, Scorpions, LL , Van Halen...ok you get the picture. Get this dvd and and get it now. Harry puts on an awesome show...oh yeah, his band is better or almost better than Johnny Carson's....my dad sad that :-)
Rating: Summary: sounds very dated Review: I like Harry but the sound is very grating. If you like big band sound I recommend Dinah Shore and the Count Basie band, its the sharpest brassy sound I have heard, and I only have it on laser disc
Rating: Summary: A Sight And Sound Experience You Don't Want To Miss! Review: I recently purchased this DVD and I really enjoy watching it. Harry Connick Jr. is the consummate musician and showman, and the video and music from this excellent DVD only reinforce the notion that he is the best jazz musician of his time. Almost single handedly he has managed to create a new fresh awareness to these classics, and even now in 2004 he continues to reacquaint the world to the beautiful songs from the Great American Songbook. His unique interpretations of these timeless songs brings them back to life, and proves once more that these perfectly crafted tunes will last forever. The camera work and sound mixing on this DVD is well done and it really communicates to the audience the feeling of being in the middle of a Harry Connick Jr. concert without disrupting the viewing and listening experience. This is a great concert DVD that you will enjoy for many years to come. If you LOVE listening to GREAT CROONERS and BIG BAND SWING, I would also recommend, Monte Procopio "Swingin' With Style" CD. He is another great crooner that can really SWING and deserves a listen. Buy both these artists, you can't go wrong!
Rating: Summary: Exciting Review: If you are a Harry fan, or not, you'll love it anyway. All I could say is that the music was great, and it was nothing but exciting!

Rating: Summary: Pretty good... Review: Since finding and listening to Michael Buble, I've been turned on to this style of music.
Rating: Summary: Good Fun Review: This great DVD captures the essence of Harry Connick, Jr. very well. Although his piano-playing and New Orleans influence are noticeably sparse, this disc is about him swinging loud and hard. His big band, as usual, is tight and swings extremely well. The selection of songs is great, ranging from more intimate standards like "Don't Get Around Much Anymore" to upbeat originals like "Recipe for Love" and "We Are In Love". The disc is wonderfully intimate both visually and aurally. The sound is clear and strong, and the camera work doesn't get in the way of the performance. Often mischaracterized as a Sinatra clone, on this disc Connick manages to show his depth, musical ability, and pure charm. Make sure to check out his other, softer side with his older solo albums too.
