Rating: Summary: U2 _AWESOME Review: this DVD is the same thing shown all month on DirecTV channel 103. It is a great band performing an outstanding performance of its ELEVATION tour. All the new songs from All that you cant leave behind and all of the classics... (i will follow, sunday bloody sunday etc) are on this CD. I highly recomment this to u2 fans
Rating: Summary: If you didn't see the show, buy it. If you did, relive it. Review: I attended two shows on this tour and was inside the heart shaped stage for both. Granted the first show you see is the best, but it's U2 and they never disappoint. I recommend this DVD for any U2 fan who wants an up close look at a typical show on this tour. It takes you inside the heart without having to wait in line for 12 hours and has other great views including a sunglasses cam on Bono. Well worth the money as is the live show.
Rating: Summary: Worth the wait Review: U2 has not put a concert out on DVD since Rattle and Hum. The top tour of 2001 was perfect to capture and share with fans. The sound is great and the close up shots of Bono and the boys even better. This is a must have DVD both for the fans lucky enough to see them this year and those that did not. You can't go wrong with this concert documentary. The only complaints are the lack of the full set list, particularly the exlusion of "One" due to lack of space on the disc.
Rating: Summary: Could be much better. Review: First off, "Even Better Than The Real Thing", "One", "Mysterious Ways" and "Pride" are all missing, despite having been played in Boston. What gives? Could be better, I miss those songs. And I don't think they played "Wake Up Dead Man" in Boston either... ah well. U2 still slays live and this DVD is testament to that. The show in Calgary was amazing. As was this one, apparently. Hear Hear!
Rating: Summary: U2 never ceases to amaze thier fans Review: (...)I saw them on June 14, 2001; and now I can see them again from the comfort of my own living room. This was one of the best tours I've ever seen. Every hardcore U2 fan should have this.
Rating: Summary: Not 100% complete but... Review: I don't give it a full 5 stars mainly b/c it's missing One, Mysterious Ways, etc,. from the original shows. But it has plenty of extras and is pure joy for any U2 fan. A must have.
Rating: Summary: Fleet Center, Boston...one word, amazing. Review: I was at this show on the 6th, and I can say this was the greatest show I'd ever seen. But for those out there that didn't see this show, there was a momment, where Bono pulls someone up from the audience, and has him play "People get ready". It is an amazing momment, because Bono doesn't know the words to the song, so he starts making them up. This is a must have for a U2 fan!
Rating: Summary: It's a beautiful day to elevate... Review: ...your feet and watch this great concert. This is an extremely fun concert DVD. I love U2, and I have to recommend this. The music is superb, with highlights of "Elevation," "Where the Streets Have no Name," and "New York." Also, the various antics of Bono and The Edge will keep you entertained. A great concert, and definitely a great addition to any DVD collection. The special features are ok, I enjoyed "Beautiful Day" from Dublin, and the ability to watch different angles of the concert during some songs is fun. Pick this one up and enjoy the great music from the front row.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Show, Fantastic Sound, (...) Review: Was at the 6/6/01 show, and if you look real close, you can see me in the nosebleed seats in the Fleet Center. (...)This is not the complete 6/6/01 show in Boston (Mysterious Ways, Pride, and One are missing), nor is it fully all performances from 6/6/01. Stay was not played during the 6/6/01 show (Bono pulled someone from the audience to play People Get Ready), Gone is definitely from the 6/5/01 show (Edge kicked the guitar on 6/5, not 6/6 though Gone was played), Desire is chopped short (the band went into an extended version of Van Morrison's Gloria using Boston-centered lyrics, as a medly out of Desire), and Kite was butchered during 6/6/01 (so this was either the 6/5 performance or there's some extra work to fix the mistakes). On disc 2, the Beautiful Day Clip is the Top of the Pops Clip. Now for the good news. Though the band is supposedly not at their best, they're still awesome (and that's a testament to them). The performances of the songs that are included are sharp. The band seems to be having fun. The setlist is diverse and the performances are energetic. For those who have missed WOWY and The Fly on the 3rd leg (I certainly missed The Fly on 10/30 in Providence), they're here. Better yet, the sound is absolutely fabulous. It is crisp and clear. The audience does not overwhelm, and neither do the vocals. The contrast to ZooTV Live in Australia is night and day, and it's even better than Popmart Live in Mexico.
Rating: Summary: Just like being there Review: The concert portion of this packed DVD set is fantastic...great, clear picture quality, certain angles that are like you're in the heart, and great moments that feel just like the real thing. This set is an excellent value with all of the extras they've added.
