Rating: Summary: Impressive sound, average picture quality Review: This DVD is impressive sound wise. All the songs on Disc 1 have been remixed in DTS surround sound. Queen fans will notice the difference compared to the original stereo version - you may like it, you may hate it. I happen to love DTS sound and don't mind that the songs have been remixed. The picture quality of the videos is poor although on the cover it says "fully restored". Ok, let's be fair here. There's only so much they can do to old video footage. Perhaps if the songs had been taken with film originally, they may have been easier to restore. The videos have also been chopped top and bottom to give a 'pretend' widescreen. Why they did this, is anyone's guess. It's bearable though to watch. Disc 2 features lesser known tracks, and is not DTS sound. This is a freebie disc in a way considering the price of the DVD. Overall, a DVD no fan would want to be without ...

Rating: Summary: QUEEN IS KING Review: This is an excellent 2 disc DVD set that includes 22 early Queen videos (O.K., 23 if you include the hidden alt version of Bohemian Rhapsody) as well as a picture gallery, an Inside The Rhapsody feature, and an 18 page color booklet. I can't wait for GVH #2. For those of you that can't wait, be sure to check out the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert now out on DVD and the Highlander Immortal Edition DVD that contains 3 Queen videos (Who Wants To Live Forever, A Kind Of Magic, and Princes Of The Universe), a Queen still gallery, and a 3 song Queen CD (Princes Of The Universe, One Year Of Love/extended version, and Friends Will Be Friends). It's a good time to be a Queen fan. R.I.P. Freddie.
Rating: Summary: Almost perfect Review: This is priceless because you get to SEE the ORIGINAL BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY MASTER TAPE! (Brian holds it up to the camera.) That was worth the price to me...everything else is a bonus. The song selection is better than the "Greatest Hits" CDs, because it has more of Queen's '70s FM hits (the ones that made them famous in the US) rather than their '80s stuff. (An FM hits CD would be a good idea, since a lot of their songs on US radio in the '70s weren't singles.) There are only two rooms for improvement: The giant crown that rose up over Queen's stage in the '70s is cut-off before the live "We Will Rock You" bonus video, and of course the letterboxing problem (as others have commented). The letterboxing screws up the opening of the "Fat Bottomed Girls" video, because it is harder to see the huge lighting rig rising above the band at the top of the screen. But you get such an excessive amount of content that it is hard to complain.

Rating: Summary: Just Buy It Review: This is the best Queen DVD ever released. Put it in and turn it up LOUD with DTS. Amazing sound, even better than the Eagles Hell Freezes DVD in DTS. All I can say is WOW. Just buy the DVD you will not regret it.
Rating: Summary: D.T.S. is W.O.W. Review: This is the first DTS disc I have purchased for the audio advantages and was I in for a huge surprise. The sound is incredible. If you have a player that reads DTS and an amp that decodes it and five quality speakers you are in for a treat. At times the videos seem to be out of synch with the music but this is quibbling as the audio is stellar. I had just purchased the Queen Platinum box set a couple of weeks ago and was impressed with the job done remastering that but this is far superior. A great disc to showcase your sound system.
Rating: Summary: This is a steal Review: This would be a great deal with the one disc, but has two! Maybe the picture isn't perfect, but for those of us who waited months in the '70s waiting to catch a tiny glimpse of any of these videos it is invaluable. But the best part isn't even listed. It shows Brian May in the studio at the mixing board while remastering "Bohemian Rhapsody". He plays the different tracks individually so you can hear the different individual vocal pitches, etc. He then even SHOWS the original 1975 MASTER TAPE itself! For die-hard Queen fans this segment is worth the price alone...everything else is just a bonus. And the newly-edited nude "Bicycle Race" video has become a hit at the video bar I work at.
Rating: Summary: Classic Queen hits brought to life! Review: Though it doesn't have quite the energy of live concert DVDs, this compilation still does grest justice to the magnificent Queen hits. It's nice to see videos of the band at all stages of their development, because Freddie's cooler without the moustache. I especially liked the audio commentary- it's funny to hear Brian and Roger whine about how much they hated the Top of the Pops show they appeared on and Brian complain about how he isn't shown on "Fat Bottomed Girls"(he's right, though). Or, Roger's only comment on the Bicycle Race video (in reference to that naked female bicycle race) "I would have liked to have gone to the bicycle race... it looked like a lot of fun." Anyway, "Bohemian Rhapsody" is a great video, as are "We Are the Champions" and "Tie your Mother Down". I like them all, really (except Flash-what a terrible movie). Oh, and you can see John wipe his nose during "Spread Your Wings" because it was filmed in sub-zero weather. You can seriously spend hours watching this stuff!!
