Summary: True Alice in Chains
Review: If you are a fan, you already have this. If not a fan, this will make you one. Outstanding performance by an incredible band. MTV's Unplugged series was a brilliant idea and thankfully they got these guys to sign on. Taking the heavy on-stage blast of grunge rock out...which of course is great anyway...they still somehow keep it in and get down to the heart of the songs. Jammin base and leads, terrific percussion and Layne is on target(for the most part...you'll see!). The voices and playing are perfect, and not only are they enjoying themselves, they can tell they are playing the songs perfect. A must have!

Summary: AIC true measure of depth recorded here - live
Review: A real testament to AIC greatness is found here in this live presentation. As heavy and at times, a little overproduced as their studio recordings were, their nuanced performance here displays warmth and sublimity with acoustic instruments. Not only that but Layne and the band really make you feel like you're just buds hanging out, hearing some great songs. LAYNE, RIP.

Summary: Great, like everything AIC has ever done.
Review: I don't know why that loser James G's comment is at the top, but Alice in Chains and Layne's performance were both amazing. Maybe James G needs to have his music processed and run through the mix board, or just can't appreciate live music, but Layne was awesome in this Unplugged. Got Me Wrong was WAY better than on SAP. It is actually the song that got me into AIC. The video also has a few funny moments and a screw-up on Layne's behalf that is quite comical. RIP Layne PS Bass Guitar is easy. That is why Mike Starr was easily replaced. Will never replace Layne.

Summary: An Absolute MUST for any AiC fan
Review: WOW !!!! AMAZING !!! Highly, Highly, Highly, HIGHLY Recommended. This DVD is a MUST for AiC fans. Layne's voice is strong and vibrant even though his health was very obviously on the decline. This MTV Unplugged is a great reminder of what an AMAZING and truly TALENTED band AiC was...There are NO bands that will EVER capture the raw emotion that AiC was capable of and there are NO vocalists that will EVER compare to Layne Staley...these facts are Clearly evident in this show. WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!

Summary: Alice in Pain, so powerful and beautiful, it's amazing
Review: I do not need to even get into details. This DVD performance is so important to the Alice in Chains legacy. Also, it is perhaps the most meanful MTV Unplugged release of them all. Layne is at his tormented best, so deep in pain, you get chills just hearing him sing. Oh so sad, but yet he makes it sound so sweet and beautiful. Jerry is just equal to Layne, never adding too much nor taking much away. Layne and Jerry I think are the last great dou to emerge from the whole 90's rock explosion. Get this DVD, all you need to do is love music, not even be a fan of AIC's, just love music. Put this DVD in your player, push play, then close your eyes. Let me know how you feel afterwards.
