You will notice he is wearing gloves in the video that's because he shoots up in his hands. Anyways great music, great video and LAYNE STALEY!

Review: From the beginning to the end, this video contains every great song Alice In Chains ever put out, from "Would?" to "Down In A Hole". This shows the extreme talent of all of the band members. They combine a great performance with a little comedy. I give this a rating of five stars because I am a die-hard fan of Alice In Chains, and i had been waiting three years for them to put on the concert. It was worth the wait. My closing words: Alice In Chains fans, this one's for you.

Summary: Must-see performance
Review: After singing the wrong lyrics during the 4th song on the DVD, Sludge Factory, Layne Staley asks the crowd, "What's my motivation here?" Indeed, Layne may have lacked the motivation to fully prepare for the performance, since he was overly reliant on the lyric sheets throughout. Guitarist Jerry Cantrell also seemed a little apprehensive throughout about Staley's ability to perform; he was, after all, beginning to show the symptoms of heroin abuse that AIC's music had foreshadowed. (Check out Cantrell's nervous glances at the beginning of Angry Chair, the one song in which Staley played the guitar in addition to singing...Jerry's so preoccupied with Layne that he almost forgets to start singing). Layne proved, however, that no matter how much havoc heroin can wreak on memory, motivation, and ultimately the ability to sustain life, some things are too powerful to be compromised by any substances. Staley's voice and the beauiful acoustic music he and the rest of Alice In Chains created here are examples of such things. Nutshell is one of my favorite AIC songs, and that was a great way to open. You realize that the lyric "If I can't be my own...I'd feel better dead" isn't much of an exaggeration. Nutshell is followed by Brother, a song that has maybe the most memorable 10 seconds of the entire show when the music stops completely, leaving just Staley and Cantrell to sing the mournful lyrics in harmony. After Brother, Layne greets the crowd, then says "this song is called No Excuses," as if the people there wouldn't be able to recognize one of their biggest hits. After No Excuses, Layne seems to be intensely focused on the lyric sheet while the rest of the band takes a short break. We know why once Layne breaks off Sludge Factory, leading to some humorous banter. Once the band re-loads, Sludge Factory is executed to perfection; Layne compensates for his initial gaffe by singing with some added emotion. The 5th song, Down In A Hole, was possibly the best performance of the set. Just awesome. They seem to hit their stride, and the rest of the show is almost a blur afterwards. One great song after another, a 6-song succession of hits, culminating with their masterpiece, Would. Would rivals Down In A Hole for best in the set; it's an extremely tough choice. The 3 songs after Would seem a little anti-climactic (Frogs, Over Now, and Killer is Me, the last of which was new and surprisingly good).
We live in a time where it is en vogue to praise someone for giving 110 percent. I've always been more of a proponent of "hard work is for those short on talent"; I'd say Alice would agree with the latter statement as well. Save hyperbole for those rare times that it actually applies, such as this show, which undoubtedly deserves 6 stars out of 5.

Review: alice in chains my fav band alltime wernt grunge or metal or rock they were alice in chains haunting beautiful music that covered love addiction and everything we go through in life there will never be another alice in chains buy this dvd and see thier greatness it sounds great and being unplugged really brings out the power in many of the songs like down in a hole or angry chair this was the last time alice was all together as a band live and its 1 of the best music performances alltime any genre i miss alice in chains and the 90s and i pray stp doesnt have the same fate

Summary: Best band of the 90's
Review: This was a great DVD. I have watched it several times, and still enjoy it. Layne's voice wasn't nearly as powerful as it once was, but it fits the show perfectly. It's great to hear him belt out "Would?" and "Rooster." "Down in a hole," in my opinion, was the best song mainly because of Layne and Jerry's voices feeding off one another so harmoniously. It's unfortunate what happened to the band in the years following this performance, but at least we got the performance?? I also recommend the Music Bank DVD...it was put together nicely. AIC Unplugged - Simply a must have for any Alice in Chains fan...

Summary: The Killer Is ME
Review: Wow, this performance by Alice In Chains blew me away. It was their first live show in almost 3 years and while watching the DVD you can just tell that they really did love performing. Layne Staley was one of the greatest vocalists of all time, when he sings you can feel the emotion. Jerry is an amazing and underated guitar player, he has a beautiful voice as well. This show is a little sad though, the atmosphere on most of the unplugged shows are very moody. This DVD rocks and AIC set a standard for modern rock/alternative. My favorites are "Heaven Beside You" and the unreleased song "The Killer Is Me"... it has an amazing chorus and guitar riff. If you like AIC, this is highly recomended.

Summary: A decent transition..
Review: This acoustic "unplugged" work is almost as intensely haunting as the sound of the grinding, chunky guitars, eerie bass and rock-hard percussions that originally reeled many of us in to the genius of Alice in Chains. By the time they shot this DVD/CD, Layne's personal debilitation is quite apparent, not only in his appearance, but also his voice. It remained intense and convincing, but just seemed to lack the drive he once had. This recording has several of my favorite Alice in Chains songs on it... "Down in a Hole," "Brother," "Got Me Wrong," and more specifically "Over Now" are my favorites of the acoustic performance. For the most part, though, I prefer the original album versions of the songs(especially "Would?".. it really needs that extra punch), with the exception of "Over Now." Layne's and Jerry's harmonies are tight and unmistakable. The guitar work in this song is pretty simple, but sounds full. The mindless but witty banter in-between songs is pretty minimal, but entertaining enough. I like the DVD, I definitely own it, haha, and it's something I've watched more than once. It's not my favorite Alice in Chains recording, but they're a tight band, and I've enjoyed it over the years.
