Rating: Summary: CHER: Oh she can turn back time alright! Review: . WOWZA!!! This is a CHER EXTRAVAGANZA like you won't believe! CHER looks great, sounds great, and is nothing short of AMAZING! CHER proves once again that like the Energizer bunny, she keeps going and going and going... CHER's "farewell tour" as captured on this DVD performance, is still running in cities across the US, and soon to embark on the European segment. When will it end? When will CHER stop the insanity? NEVER, one hopes! (Just because Cher SAYS it's her "farewell tour" doesn't mean she's leaving! After all, how many "farewell" concerts did Babs Streisand have... and she's still workin' it to rip off her fans with her constant and continuous "farewell" parties that never seem to end!) If you missed your chance to see this farewell tour live the first time around, don't worry: Just like the terminator, "She'll be baaaaack!" And until CHER returns to a huge concert arena near you, there's always this DVD to watch! Do yourself a favor and buy this DVD and watch it over and over. "CHER" it with your friends! It's CHER at her amazing best. She sparkles, she sizzles, she dazzles... she's CHER, what more need be said?
Rating: Summary: Amazing concert!! Review: I saw Cher live in Calgary, AB on August 25th 2003 and it was an AMAZING show. This DVD came out the day after oddly enough, but I still picked it up. Anytime I want to relive that amazing night, I pop in the DVD and watch and remember. This show is a testament to Cher's success, and a great overview of her career. She sings all the favorites, offers some bitchy quibbles and gives overall a great show. It was pricey but worth it to see her live! It's sad to say goodbye but she's still in top form. This is a great DVD, you won't be disapointed if you love Cher. This IS Cher, everything about this show. Some of the best performances include "Still Havent Found What I'm Looking For", "All Or Nothing", "After All", the medleys, and more. Overall a great show you'll watch over and over!
Rating: Summary: Genuine Classic Review: Cher at this time of her life is better than ever! I saw her Farewell Tour in Las Vegas, and this video (filmed in Miami) is virtually the same. If you cannot see her in person, BUY this video - truly a classic.
Rating: Summary: This DVD is great but I prefer Chers 1st DVD Review: Don't get me wrong this is a great DVD but when compared to her 1st DVD it falls a bit flat for me compared to her 1st DVD for one reason ... less heart little more glitz. Both DVD's have much of the same material and excellant staging with plenty of surprises ... but her 1st DVD seems like she is enjoying every moment and not taking herself so seriously. The person of Cher is caught more deeply and personally in the 1st DVD. It just is fresh and fun. To me beyond her singing and talent for wonderful staging is she is an amazing person and has had a wonderful life story which plays out through her music over a life time. The 1st DVD comes across more genuine and full of a one on one feel and from the heart as well as being a top notch production. I personally think her 1st DVD caught her at her physical and emotional best where the Fare Well Tour DVD seems to be a step down .... but for Cher a step down is still a great performance. So my 2 cents is If you want the person of Cher and all the great staging and most of the same songs check out her 1st DVD over the Fare Well Tour.
Rating: Summary: A wonderful, colorful showcase of CHER! Review: Well, I just finished watching it! I've seen the concert live a few times and recorded the original TV broadcast, so of course I'm loving this! The DVD and TV broadcast of this show aren't hugely different, but there are subtle differences and the DVD certainly flows more smoothly. They still have those split screens, but they're used a bit less freneticly than the TV broadcast (which at some points had quintuple split screens!). Thankfully they removed those incredibly annoying non-concert inserted bits from the broadcast of Cher speaking whenever they were cutting to a commercial or going into another song. The show flows better than the TV broadcast since the viewer isn't getting cut off for those damn commercial breaks and those inserted bits at the corner of the screen as if it's Cher's conscience speaking. They also tightened up the show a bit. The parts between songs (when she's changing costumes) at the actual concerts are longer but they cut that down in the DVD so the show is tighter. The picture quality is excellent and better than the TV broadcast. The show is presented in widescreen, so if you have a widescreen TV (I don't), it should look real cool on your set! The sound is very good and better than the TV broadcast. They lessened the crowd noise from the broadcast so you hear Cher and the band more up-front and clearly. Remember to set the DVD's audio settings correctly to match your TV's audio capabilities or else the sound might fluctuate erratically. Most people should be fine with the "Stereo" setting. Audiophiles will be pleased with the 5.1 Surround option. The bonuses here are great treats! You'll love them! I'm a huge fan of "West Side Story" and was quite thrilled that they included the original, entire montage (an excerpt is played during the concert) as a bonus here! This was from one of her 1970s (I think?) variety shows. Only Cher would go play the key players of "West Side Story" all by herself! If you think the notion sounds corny and absurd, it's nonetheless an enjoyable hoot when you watch it! I couldn't stop giggling seeing a condensed version of the musical with Cher playing Bernando, Anita, Riff, Maria, etc! Anita's going to get her kicks tonight indeed! Hysterical! Whoever owns the rights to her variety shows and specials should release all of them on DVD! Everything! I wish I was born earlier on so I could've experienced these Cher shows growing up. Besides the 12 minute "West Side Story" clip, they include some other cool bonuses too. Behind the scenes documentary (24 minutes long), the new edit of the "If I Could Turn Back Time" music video (it's played on the monitors during the concert), 3 extra concert performances (they're not included in the concert main feature because Cher recorded these separately from the show), costume design sketches, some chatting with the crew nonsense (I think they aired this during the credits of the TV broadcast), and a couple of other bitchy, campy Cher monologues from other shows of the tour. For a concert DVD, they sure put together a great package here and raised the bar for concert DVDs. As for the show itself, it's Cher at her campiest best. Her distinctive voice is as pleasing as ever. She gives her fans the crowd-pleasing hits they want and interacts with them to great effect. She mines the past and marches through each major Cher era to the present. My favorite performances are: -I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For -All or Nothing -Medley of All I Really Wanan Do, Half-Breed, Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves, Dark Lady -After All -Just Like Jesse James -If I Could Turn Back Time If you're not a big Cher fan, you might be overwhelmed by all the non-stop, over-the-top camp hysteria (Cher uses a chandelier to make an entrance, she rides an elephant, dresses like a ringmaster, seems to have a new costume and wig for every other song, etc.), but if you lighten up you should enjoy it. This DVD is a must-have for all Cher fans!!! The show is an exciting, colorful and very nostalgic ride through her whole career. I felt quite proud watching this concert. For a farewell tour Cher goes out with a Bang Bang!
Rating: Summary: THE CHER-EST SHOW IN THE UNIVERSE!! Review: I saw CHER in Atlanta on April 25, 2003, and it will always be THE GREATEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE! I grew up watching the Sonny & Cher show on tv, and playing Cher songs on my record player over and over and over, I must have played "The Way of Love" and "Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves" and "Dark Lady" a thousand times, and I sat there in Philips Arena watching her sing these songs, and it was as if it were a dream come true. Every minute was magnificent, every song was simply sensational! The entire arena rocked and thundered when she did "Bang Bang, My Baby Shot Me Down," and it was hard to believe it was a 57 year old woman on stage, singing that song! The concert didn't stop for even a minute, all the way through until the final song, "Believe," that really brought down the house, with the dancers both on stage and flying through the air on wire. Yep, the night was magnificent, and this dvd captures it completely and wonderfully. Cher, you really are the greatest ever!!
Rating: Summary: farewell to a flawless diva! Review: This DVD is awesome! It is second only to Britney's "Onyx Hotel" tour as the best concert by a female artist. Cher simply rocks. She also looks pretty good for her age. Don't delay; buy today!
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Chertastic! Review: I absolutely love Cher and the music world would definitely have lost a true Diva! But to be fair, the Farewell Tour pales in comparison to the Live in Concert DVD. For one, I thought she had more fun doing the Live in Concert DVD. She was more relaxed and her vocal crisper. The choreography and theatric production was also more creative and fun. With the Farewell DVD I think there was a feeling of trying too hard to make it her best ever concert, so as to leave a legacy, that she forgot to let herself loose fully. But Cher being Cher, the production was still good. But a true fan would know the difference. Not that it matters, since any true fan, like me, would have bought both DVD anyway!

Rating: Summary: She IS the ONE true diva! Review: The DVD is awesome to say the least! Seeing the DVD after seeing the TV showings of this concert was like stepping back through all the years I grew up with this woman's awesome talent and music. Seeing the DVD made me want to go see the concert in person when it came to my city. This tour was truly fabulous and a shining tribute to Cher. She truly is THE - ONE - TRUE - DIVA!
