Rating: Summary: Brilliant DVD - First Class Review: I have been a TOTO fan for many years now - always loved what they have produced - this DVD is absolutely brilliant - well worth the money.
Rating: Summary: Has to be the best DVD in the world Review: I have been a Toto fan since the beginning.I have seen different lineups live and Bobby Kimball on vocals has to be the best and of course the original. No one and I mean NO-ONE sings" Hold The Line" like Bobby. Simon on drums..One of the most powerfull drummers in the world.Makes me proud to be British. Steve,David, and Mike have got to be the best in thier fields. The opening of the concert must be the greatest live production I have ever heard. From the almost chantlike"Goodbye Girl" straight into the driving rock licks of"Goodbye Elenore"starts the concert with a bang. If you never buy another live concert on DVD, you need to buy this one..AND another for a spare.
Rating: Summary: TOTO at their best !!! Review: I have been an avid fan of TOTO since TOTO 4 and I have seen many live concert DVDs over the years, but this one beats them all easily. It's hard to find anything flawed about this DVD. The band's performance, especially Steve on the guitar, Simon on the drums and Bobby's singing, to the sound and picture quality, is simply superb and hard to beat. TOTO is seen in their absolute top form here. Let's face it, some of the best musicians in the business happen to be playing together in this band and that speaks for itself. How many other bands are there of this calibre ? This is pure talent and outstanding musicianship through and through. It's all from the heart and soul ! There really should be more people appreciating TOTO and I call on all TOTO fans out there, you have this DVD already no doubt, to order another copy or several copies to give to your friends as a gift. Think about it, it's a perfect Christmas gift. I'm sure that those who get to watch this DVD will be hooked onto TOTO from now on. It's the least we could do to show our support to TOTO and the continued existence of true music. Highly recommended also is the audio CD of this show in Amsterdam and then there's The Essential TOTO cd just released by Sony. The sound is great as the selected tracks from their debut album all the way up to Mindfields have been digitally remastered once again. But just going back to this DVD for now, don't leave this page yet, order it now ! You'll be extremely happy you did.
Rating: Summary: ABSOLUTELY AWESOME MUSICIANSHIP! Review: I have quite a few live music DVDs and from start to finish, this is one of the best. The musicianship is outstanding on all accounts. Vocals are in the zone. Lukather's guitar work is fantastic, but his bandmates shine as well. The finale of "White Sister" really rocks. The arrangement of "Africa" is excellent. If you like Toto and have a DVD player, especially one with Dolby Digital surround sound, crank it up. This one is well worth it.
Rating: Summary: TOTO - LIVE IN AMSTERDAM DVD Review: I have seen at least one show of every Toto tour since 1986, and for me this captures one of their best. Whilst the hits were necessarily included to appeal to a wider fan base, there is ample album material and new arrangements for musicians and discerning music fans. Toto fanatics and cynics alike can get a flavour of the humour of this band on their own backstage video footage. Even if Toto don't achieve the recognition they deserve in their lifetime's, this DVD will be an excellent testimony to what Eddie Van Halen described as "collectively the best musicians on the planet". Fantastic post-production on both visual and especially the surround sound audio mixes.
Rating: Summary: Psychic prediction Review: I haven't had the opportunity to see this one (because it hasn't been released as of yet), but since I have been to many Toto shows in the past few years, I have a good feeling that this DVD is going to be fantastic! Dont' delay! Order it! And tell all your friends to order one for themselves, their brothers and sisters, grandma, and her pet iguana.
Rating: Summary: TOTO DVD WILL BLOW YOU AWAY Review: I just received and watched the dvd yesterday and it blew me away. The 5.1 surround and dts are awesome. The mix by Simon phillips is a masterpiece. The song selection is killer and the performance/fan response was unbelieveable. Bobby Kimball sings better now than he did 20 years ago. This dvd is a must have for any music fan who appreciates solid musicianship and sound production. TOTO have outdone themselves with this release!!! I will also be purchasing the double live cd Amsterdam release when it comes out on October 7/03
Rating: Summary: souvenirs Review: I leave in New Caledonia and was there 3 weeks ago for their live show in nouméa....toto, outside, warm air...this show is an exact replica of their performance on stage in new caledonia. Lots of "souvenirs" when i listen to it. Sound is perfect (DTS is an inch higher than DD) Video is exempt from defauts... Simply the best
Rating: Summary: Please Dont Buy it Review: I was really disappointed with Toto. My favorite songs of all time is "Hold the Line" i brought this DVD mainly because of that. They just totally screwed it up it sounds so different, the lead singer is atrocious i could do a better job than him. Steve lukather i thought was a great guitarist but he totally disappointed me the solos have no resemblence to waht your hear in their studio albums. The rest of the band is ok. The song I liked the most in the dvd is "Africa". The audio and video are excellent. VERDICT: If you are a hardcore TOTO fan you might like it otherwise please dont buy it.
Rating: Summary: Toto DVD One of the best! Review: I was really impressed with this DVD. The concert production especially lighting and sound was really good. It's really nice Toto finally decided to put a DVD out. Includes most of their hits like Africa, Hold the line, I wont Hold You Back, and Rosanna. The ballad Ill Be Over You was one song that I thought should have been included in the DVD. Toto sounds really good and there a band that plays almost better live than they are heard on the radio. Still today Toto is a great band with alot of talent and its nice to see them back together with original vocalist Bobby Kimball. Anyone who likes music DVD's should not hesitate to get this DVD!
